Tips for a chewer?

ds is 11m and has 4 teeth on top and 2 on the bottom. The next two on the bottom have been taking their time coming in and for weeks now he will chew on my when nursing. A true bite has a different feel and he has learned not to do that (I say no and put him down) but I can't seem to get him off the chewing. He sort of adds pressure with every suck and so nursing isn't really painful but it isn't comfortable either. I always have teeth marks on my areola after a feed. Suggestions anyone? Or do I just ride it out?

A deeper latch might help. In cradle, gently push with the heel of your hands between LO's shoulderblades. I also switch sides if DS is kind of gnawing. It's only an issue when he's teething so hopefully it's better for you between teeth.

If his latch is uncomfortable, take him off and re latch. Do this until it feels better, or don't let him nurse ATM. Try again in a little while.

You can also try to offer a cold teeter or frozen wash cloth before each session. Let him chomp away on those!

Thanks, I think a deeper latch does help but he has a tendency to pull himself back off to chewing position. I run home from work to nurse and so have not been patient enough to try again later or differently. I will work on it.
