Ours was a sand/water table and while C loved it, I wasn't crazy about having the sand so close to the water. It seemed to be always wet. I would prefer a water only table and then a separate sandbox:)

This!! Cs favorite thing to was to dump water into the sand area and then take fist fulls of sand and throw it in the water. DH is planning on making him a giant sandbox over by the playground and his combo table will just be used for water.
DS got ours as a second birthday gift from my ILs, therefore I didn't do much research/comparisons with other ones as it was something they wanted to choose and buy.
LOVE that is has an umbrella. I live in a very sunny part of the country and our backyard offers minimal shade. Love anything of ours that comes covered or with an umbrella.
We've never put sand in it, just fill both sides with water. The kids had a lot of room playing with it together this summer then.
The cover on it is nice, maybe they all come with covers though.
Kids love the toys it came with, but it's pretty hard to screw up boats and squeezy toys i think
ETA I find our backyard is full of Step 2 products. Not intentionally, but they always seem to be what we are drawn to when purchasing something. We had a problem this summer when we bought them a picnic table and the umbrella wasn't in the box, and they were quick to send us a replacement one, so I've had great customer service through them too.

We have a different Step 2 table, with no sand component, it just had a big palm tree in the middle. H's dad bought it for him, so we didn't have much input, and I've seen "cooler" ones, but honestly, DS loves the crap out of it. There are little divers that came with it and a boat that he loves, and as long as he gets to splash, he's a happy boy
We have the pirate ship one and a combo sand-water one where we only use water on both sides since sand on one of the sides makes it too messy. Whichever one you get you really cant go wrong
Ours is the little tikes spiralin' seas one and we like it. I think she would like it more if we put it up without the pool (we always put her pool and water table up at the same time).

We got this one for C. I like several things about it, it has an umbrella which is nice for the hot Texas summer, the water spills over to the larger area and C loved that part, it's a good size so a couple of kiddos can play at once and not argue, there's no sand but you could do it if you wanted because it's 2 spaces.
