Pee Pee on the Potty Funny

She always pee's on the floor when I take her out of the bathtub, so I bought her a potty and when she does I would put her on it and say no pee pee on the floor, pee pee in the potty. Knowing she was too young to get it, but figured it was a good starting point for when she was ready.

Well tonight when we were getting ready for bath time, my LO walked into the bathroom stepped into her potty pee'd (yes while standing) then stepped out and clapped her hands. I was so excited and laughing so hard.

WOOHOO! It's a step in the right direction!! My DD peed in her potty twice (completely coincidental I think) and now won't go near it

Yay! It's a good start. We have started setting DD on the potty and she is beginning to understand. We have had a few successful pees and poos on the toilet, but since she's only 16 mo I'm not going to push her anytime soon. I just want to get her used to the idea so it isn't scary. Her favorite part is flushing and waving bye bye to the pee or poo :-P

We've been PTing for a few months already, DD is really excited about using the potty. (She's nowhere near consistent, and I'm not ready to push it. But she tells me "poop" and I take her to her potty and get her diaper off, and she goes.)

Wow, I'm so impressed with all the babies who are already starting to use the potty, or at least showing an interest. I've put DS on the toilet a couple times, just to sit, since he's so interested in DH and I when we use it, but he's clearly not interested in using it himself. We have a ways to go!

This is actually the start of potty training! He has noticed you guys using it and is interested. I think it's important to set them on at this age, just so they get used to it, but don't make them do it if they aren't in the mood and don't make them sit there for too long or they will learn to hate it. Eventually, they will go just by coincidence and then you make a huge deal out of it, cheer, clap, give a treat, the whole 9 yeards. Once they succeed a few times and get tons of positive reinforcement, they understand what you are wanting them to do and they are proud of it.
