week/Team/Fruit: 34w1d/Blue/Butternut squash
Symptoms: OHhh the usual I sleep like a champ..not. I fight constipation regularly but now using some other pills that seem to be working. My leg cramps are getting worse, this is what they did with DD. My child is moving so much that my damn muscle in my stomach are sore from him.
Appointments this week: Oh that good ol' measurement appointment the one that here is no real meaning to, I feel like. But I am sure is has something to do with me being a negative nancy right now due to the fact I have 5w6d to go. meh. AND that isn't even set in stone.
Rants/Raves/questions: Lets see...umm I got the wardrobe built and painted (see weekend chit chat) and then I got the freezer cleaned out and started. I now have 1 gallon of spaghetti sauce, 1 gallon of turkey chilly and 1 gallon of Bolognese sauce ready. This weekend I start making my beef tips with gravy meal starter to freeze. So I am feeling pretty good about myself. I have been eating like a crazy person and not sticking to the gym so this week I will get back on that horse. I have some time left and don't want to just explode last weeks after I have been doing so good. I started drinking that god awful raspberry leaf tea and I will start primrose next week. Hooray.
GTKY: Do you have a visitor plan once baby arrives? Totally a question from someone that has the babies already..lol. Um well MIL will be there the first 1-2 months and then my mom and dad will probably get there within 4 weeks of lil on being born. I have to talk to my sister she wanted to come but I would see her more like in Feb or Mar. DDs bday is Jan, the game plan depending on LOs shots that we will have her bday in Buffalo, so my hubs side of the family will see him then IF he has had his 4 week shots by then.
requiressnacks, I can't believe that you are all done...like you have them. I am totally jeally of you right now. AND so proud of your posting the weekly still. Please let me know if you would like to relinquish the duty. I don't mind taking it over. BUT I am assuming your up anyway..soo why not. How are the babies? Aren't they dreamy...ugh baby smell and warmth nothing better.
Symptoms: Pelvic discomfort, terrible heartburn, is feeling majoy bitchy a symptom?.... exhaustion, turtle syndrome lol
Appointments this week: repeat BPP tomorrow
Rants/raves/questions: so many rants...... don't even know where to start.
GTKY: do you have a visitor plan once baby arrives? I'm really hoping that baby will be here on the 22nd and we can go home on the 23rd... I'll be so sad if I have to spend more than 1 night away from G as this will be my first time leaving her overnight. I already told my parents and my IL's that we probably will not be attending Thanksgiving.... however, DH's sister and her family will be up here from a few hours away and I know will want to come see the baby, the only problem is that her 3 kids are ALWAYS sick and I can already hear my MIL commenting about how ridiculous I am if I don't let them all come over. This sucks.
Symptoms: Still sore and tired over here. I have had enough energy to get things accomplished at work and home, though - so that's been great.
Appointments this week: OB appt this Thursday, dreading the cervix check for sure
Rants/raves/questions: My mom will be staying with us all week. I truly appreciate that she wants to help, but it just sucks so much energy out of me to have anyone extra in our house. Especially being soo pregnant and working full time. My job isn't as flexible as my old one, either, so I can't get home any earlier than 5:30, which is when I'm completely spent from working all day and interacting with people. True introvert over here...
GTKY: Not so much of a plan, but I think we're going to have all three sets of our parents around while we're in the hospital. Everyone has to travel and we need help with the dog, but it's probably going to be chaotic. My mom will most likely stay a few extra days once we get home, too. My dad will wait until everyone else gets out of the way to come spend some time with us. Otherwise, I don't plan on inviting any friends over until all the holidays are over.

I'm gonna play but change it up a bit. Feel fee to copy requiressnacks and Becca
LO's age: 13 days
Sleep: Up every 2-3 hours to eat and get changed. She is staying awake for random 30 minute intervals during the day, but still pretty sleepy. She's also decided that 4:00am is a good awake time (much like while I was pregnant), I'm over this fun.
Appointments: Hazel has her 2 week pedi appointment tomorrow and I'm excited to see how much weight she's gained, hoping she's finally hit 6lbs. I also have a BP check with my OB to see if it's returned to normal.
Rants/raves/questions: I'm a little irritated that one of my bffs still hasn't come to see Hazel. She was supposed to come over Saturday but cancelled. So she said her and her family would come over for dinner some night this week, because apparently I want to cook them dinner?
GTKY: did you have a visitor plan for when baby arrived? The only thing I was adamant about was that no one would see her until the big girls had seen her, after that I didn't care. Visitors don't bother me and so far everyone has brought us food, so I'm not going to turn people away.
So glad to see you here mrsp121308!!! 2-3 hours at a stretch is pretty dang good... I remember G being up sometimes like every 20-30 min during those early days... yawn. I hope that your BP is back to normal!!
So maybe your BFF meant that she'd BRING you dinner?? I sure hope so.... cause, like you said... why would you want to cook for anyone extra with a newborn and 2 other little ones at home. Sigh.
Week/Team/Fruit: 34w3d/Pink/ I do animals so whatever the heck a Quokka is
Symptoms: Night sweats/hot flashes, sore belly, constant rib and hip kicks. OH, and so much peeing.
Appointments this week: Just chiro this week.
Rants/raves/questions: I think baby is basically straight up and down in my belly, which is such a catch-22. I'm not huge since she's using her vertical space, but man does she flail about and get me in the ribs and cervix at the same time. My acupuncturist said she thinks my hunch is right since my belly is really centered, she said usually babies favor one side and a belly will be off-centred because of it.
GTKY: do you have a visitor plan once baby arrives? No one comes over unless I give them the green light, this is mostly in place because of MIL who lives 2 hours away but has a history of "being in the neighborhood" and just dropping in. My mom is going to stay for a bit at some point we just don't know when.
WineNChocolate, I may be coming to raid your freezer! That food sounds so good @kc295905, enjoy your solo time with DS hmr11913, hang in there, only a few more weeks! Winnifred, I feel you on having another adult in the house. Struggling with that myself now. mrsp121308, umm, no thanks on making other people dinner! They better be bringing you food, even if it is just a pizza. @cahistoryteacher, Those ribs kicks/punches are the worst!
LO's age: 3 weeks today
Sleep: They are up every 3-4 hours to eat. Sadly they keep getting off the same schedule. It would be so much better if they were on the same schedule because this feed 1, feed 2, pump cycle is taking it's toll.
Appointments: We are scheduled to have the VNA come tomorrow and then a pedi appointment on Friday. Not that this really counts, but I have a hair appointment on Wednesday. I am way too excited for it.
Rants/raves/questions: AA cannot seem to latch to BF, even with a shield. I have tried multiple times unsuccessfully, even with the LC. I love the bonding time I'm getting with BR during BF, I'm sad I'm not getting the same bonding with her.
GTKY: did you have a visitor plan for when baby arrived? The plan was only grandparents in the hospital at first. Since we were there so long we did let some of the Aunts/Uncles come there too. We're slowly starting to let people come over to the house, but we really want to wait until after Thanksgiving so we have time to finish getting the house in semi-order.

mrsp121308, ummm she better think on brining dinner with her. I mean that is like one hell of a congrats by bringing her whole damn brood so that you can feed them and play hostess. When people come they better be happy if I have pants on and my hair actually put in a bun. I also warn all, this a house of "I don't care, your in my space now" So it will not be super tidy and I will most likely feed when your there..if that's an issue don't come.
@cahistoryteacher, definitely not a stop by when you feel like home. You better give me like 24-48 hours. You might just get the door shut in your face or not even opened if you decide it was a good time for you to just "drop" by.

+1 to this. The only dinner anyone visiting ought to expect is the one they bring or make. That is some BS otherwise.

Week/Team/Fruit: 35/pink/bunch of carrots
Symptoms: i have 0 energy..like, barely get out of bed after 8+ hrs of sleep
Appointments this week: regular NST tomorrow...next week is the biggie where they do a growth scan, check my cervix and do the GBS test...you guys, I am TERRIFIED that I will be positive again! I had it with DD1 and the antibiotics they gave me made my whole arm feel like it was seizing up in a cramp the whole time the antibiotics were running...it was probably the worst part of labor for me.
Rants/raves/questions: so we had a "sprinkle" yesterday that my BFF insisted on...of course, my ILs decided to wait until yesterday to text DH and tell him they weren't coming...no explanation, of course. Also, we only got 1 pack of diapers...the one thing we NEED and nobody gives us any, lol...we got some Target gift cards (I don't shop Target and wasn't registered there) that we'll use to get some diapers, but it was weird b/c I've never seen a shower where nobody gives diapers or wipes.
GTKY: do you have a visitor plan once baby arrives? I made the mistake of letting all our friends come up to the hospital with DD1- that will NOT be happening again. We will be family only at the hospital and then once we're home people can text and see if it's a good time BEFORE coming over...
Appointments this week: Dr. Appointment tomorrow (Tuesday) - once a week now, and NST Thursday and possibly more a week after tuesday
Rants/raves/questions: 17 days until they induce according to last appointment, but hope to get an update tomorrow. Work is stupid. I tell my boss a few weeks ago I think it would be good to reassign clients - her response, no no, lets see how it goes. Keep getting stressed and go into the hospital, She contacts me - Hey maybe we should reassign your clients, Me - YES!!!, so she sends off the reassignment and tells me to keep working on them until it goes through, meanwhile I've cancelled all my appointments with them because she's going to reassign them and I WAS STRESSED OUT!. I'm not going to tell her no and I"ll answer their emails, but I"m not scheduling anything new with them. Their new team can do that and I'll assist.....from my couch....in my home.
GTKY: do you have a visitor plan once baby arrives? Well, my friends think I"m crazy, but I love our plans. and now that I"m being induced early it's even better. My mom will be here for delivery and stay a week (December 1). My in laws come meet their first grand baby December 20 and stay through the 27 - they have a hotel and rental car. my mom and her husband come back the 22-29 - staying with us. Then my sister and her family are driving over and staying in a hotel the 26-30.
I'm really close to all of them so I just think it's worked out to be a good plan.

I didn't even think about hospital visits, I just assumed my mom and husband would be the only ones there. I'm totally going with family only. I have some weird friends here and I just don't want to deal with them in a hospital robe.

catherineoctober, our friends are like family (sometimes they're even less trouble than family, lol) and we were the first ones in the group to have a baby so it was something everyone wanted to camp out in the hospital waiting room for once we found out the induction date...this time they'll just have to wait, lol...having an "audience" was weird, lol
Post by catherineoctober on Nov 14, 2016 13:00:04 GMT -5
tbonequeen13, We have some friends here like that. And all our family family is out of town. The certain friend I'm concerned about and has been quite annoying telling me how everything is going to be is the one that got butt hurt when I didn't txt her as I was delivering at 22 weeks our son we lost. Really?? You're mad that I didn't txt you back? I lost a child. Back off...
She's all about being there, so I think I'm just going to not tell anyone but family what's going on and then when we post anything or start txting friends pictures of Jane we'll say that we'd love to have visitors by appointment at home. That's better anyway. A friend of mine also said - make sure no one sends you stuff to the hospital. just have them send you flowers to the house because you don't want to have to transfer all that stuff home along with the baby. I thought that was a good idea.
requiressnacks thanks for the check in! hope you are doing well! mrsp121308 so that whole sleep cycles outside correlates to their sleep cycles inside thing is true, huh? I guess I better start looking forward to a lot of 4AMs as well also, re: your friend - she better be bringing take-out! tbonequeen13 no one gave diapers at ours, either. I think people want to buy cute things, especially those who don't have kids. luckily target has lots of coupons and good deals on diapers! check out the cartwheel app, there are always discounts/coupons for diapers.
Week/Team/Fruit: 34/pink
Symptoms: Shrek hands and feet, that's about it
Appointments this week: chiro today, acupuncture this week
Rants/raves/questions: Project Flip This Baby is officially underway. I had my first Webster chiro appointment today and it was sort of awesome. My back and pelvis feel a lot more open and relaxed and baby is moving a lot, so maybe she'll have more room to turn. Also doing some baby-flipping voodoo with my acupuncturist this week. I have an OB appt next week - if baby is not flipped by then we will probably have to put a c-sec date on the books.
GTKY: do you have a visitor plan once baby arrives? so since baby is due at Xmas, there will be a lot of family visitors around, but they are not staying with me - they are staying at hotels and Airbnbs and with relatives nearby. I am just going to play it by ear and see how I feel. Luckily they are all pretty considerate so if I need to cut a visit short or not see anyone at all I don't think they will be offended. We have more family coming to town in January so we will have to play that one by ear as well.

Week/Team/Fruit: 35W+4D/Boy#2
Symptoms: A lot more peeing and BHX
Appointments this week: Weekly- NST is tomorrow and OB/BPP later in the week
Rant: I bought 3 bottles of gummy pre-natal vitamins in 1st tri. This 3rd bottle already tastes stale....so hard to chew.
Rave: DH's cousin threw us a surprise baby shower yesterday. It was not expected. I had lunch plans and DH kept insisting I cut it short so we could be on time. I'm like really? Just go without me. Lol. But it was very nice of them. I was barely getting to know them (& their social circle) when I had DS. We got a lot of baby wipes. and more clothes of course.
GTKY: Vistors- At the actual "labor" no. No one in my family expects to be there waiting around. Not even my mom when she was alive did she think to be there with my sister and her husband. Since DS was in the NICU for a couple weeks immediate family visited plus a few close aunts. After we got home, family stopped by to see baby and bring either a present or food. It's customary in our culture (Mexican). I think the younger generation is better at waiting and asking if it's ok to visit. I did have one friend who way overstayed her welcome and started drinking with DH...I had to ask her to leave...it was past 10 pm!

@kc295905, until fairly recently we didn't live near a nice Target..it was an old dinky one that didn't have much and was kinda gross...we live near a super Target now, I've just never really gotten into shopping there
emilie, thanks for the tip on getting coupons..I'll definitely check that out
Symptoms: just pain in general, I feel like I've been riding a jet ski for weeks; hot flashes constantly; swollen ankles; general moodiness
Appointments this week: None this week. That's right, none in my 36th week. My frustration with my doctor continues to grow.
Rants/raves/questions: Well, we went for a 4D appointment last week to try one more time to see baby's face and found out he is still breech. The 4D place told me to let my doctor know so I sent her an email and there was no concern at all. Her nurse said there was still time for baby to turn and they would check me at my 37 week appointment. Womp, womp, thanks for nothing. Last week my doctor did say she had no plans of doing any ultrasounds though as long as my belly continues to measure on track. My mind is just blown.
GTKY: do you have a visitor plan once baby arrives?: No plan at all. Whoever wants to come can do so at their own risk. I would prefer visitors at the hospital over visitors at home truthfully.
tbonequeen13, never thought about the antibiotics being a big deal with GBS... eek! My test is this week, hope I pass (and hope you pass, too!). And sorry no one bought you diapers/wipes. I am at the point as well that my target gift cards are most likely going towards diapers. Anything you can return that really isn't needed? That was one of my major reasons for registering at target to begin with, I assumed I'd change my mind on the stuff I needed and knew that I could exchange those items for essentials.
We had an accidental hospital camp-out situation when my niece was born (induction got pushed WAY back, so we thought the baby would already be born when we showed up), and I felt so bad! I don't think my SIL cared, but it would have bothered me to have an audience too. I'm hoping to avoid that, although I know at least my parents will want to be there if possible. Luckily, we don't have any family in town, so I don't expect surprise visits from extended family.
@kcnumbers I lurve Target! I am usually there at least once a week.
Week/Team/Fruit:33w4d/double blue/cauliflower I think
Symptoms: pelvic pain and soooo much peeing!
Appointments this week: NST today and Thursday as well as a growth ultrasound on Thursday
Rants/raves/questions:none
GTKY: do you have a visitor plan once baby arrives? Not really. I can't decide if I want anyone beyond my parents and brother and his fiancé or not. Probably not but I'll play it by ear.
Sleep: Up every 3 hours to eat and get changed. Gianna is definitely a night owl and likes to stay awake after her midnight and 3:00am feedings. Can't wait to see what it's like with brother in the mix!
Appointments: We had Gianna's first pedi appointment yesterday. Unfortunately she had lost some weight since hospital discharge. I'm just focusing on trying to get her to take 2 oz of formula or BM every 3 hours. Sometimes she's into it and sometimes she's like "no thanks" I'm all set with 1 oz. grrrr
Rants/raves/questions: I'll rave - I'm really proud of how me and MH have been working as a team. As FTPs I wasn't sure how it would go, but he's been great. Also, we've gone to see Gabriel each day, which feels like an accomplishment with another newborn at home.
GTKY: did you have a visitor plan for when baby arrived?
We planned for immediate family only at the hospital while I was giving birth. I was really overwhelmed by all the visitors to the hospital on Day 2 and 3. (It was still family, but it was a couple aunts, etc) Like, I'm recovering from a Csection over here and I haven't shit in 4 days. Please go away now.
requiressnacks, look at you settling into life with two babies!! I'm hoping that Gabriel will be home soon, but it's really great that you've been able to juggle everything so far - you two are rockstars!
P.S. I'll take any photos you're willing to share! Although I will say it still freaks me out to see your babies (and any other December babies), who were only due a week ahead of mine. I cannot wrap my head around that fact that one of those is in my stomach right now...
W, I know, right?! It's totally mind boggling. I'm still partly convinced I'm going to give birth to an automated doll that's been turning on and off inside me for months now. It honestly seems just as likely as an actual live baby being in there.

& I agree wholeheartedly mrsmatt. The minute I passed 34 wks l, which is when I had ds, I suddenly have a very clear picture of a real baby inside me. And as each week passes by (yay) I imagine birthing a huuuge baby.
