How often are you nursing? Solids? NOD, a lot. Solids 1-2 times a day, she isn't really into it.
How are nights? Most up 2x a night. When she is recovered from her reaction fully and prob after the Thanksgiving travel we are gonna try and work on getting that down or more consistent.
How is pumping/nursing going? Good.
Q/rants/raves she is still pooping so so much from her food reaction last weekend but otherwise feeling better. The doctor told us it could take 3 weeks for her tummy to completely return to normal. Ugh.
GTKY: where do you spend the holidays? Do you have to split time between your and your SOs family? How do you split it? We are lucky bc we are from the same area so we get to see everyone regardless of who gets the main event.
We have been doing every other year for Thanksgiving at my fam and his. This year is my fam but H's grandfather has been really sick and they decided to go out at this super fancy restaurant instead (it was a small group to begin with and non of H's siblings are coming this year). Then also my aunt and uncle (where my fam has it) sold their house and are retiring to Florida so idk what's gonna happen with my fam next year. It's a far trip and we are also going home from xmas (which is with H's fam, bc my fam is Jewish). So we have been talking about the possibility of not going home for it next year and potentially attempting to transition it to our house. My whole immediate fam is in PA and H's parents but siblings and cousins are spread out and getting more so, so idk if t would work (we are in TX) but it does seem like we will need a new plan after this year no matter what we do.
We NOD every 3ish hours and twice overnight. Solids once a day and she loves them. I will add another meal at 7 months.
Nights are good. 2 wake ups but they are brief.
Pumping is going well! No complaints.
GTKY: we spend Thanksgiving with DH's family (mine the weekend after) and Christmas with mine (his the weekend prior). We are all in the same town so it's easy to split.

Baby is 11 months. We NOD when together and she is taking about 12 oz of milk at daycare. She eats purees at daycare and finger foods at home (her preference, silly baby). Still nursing a lot at night. I'm noticing on weekends by late afternoon I am quite engorged, so I'll hand express and get 5 oz in 5 minutes. If only it were that easy during the week!
Questions: anyone else thinking about pumping well past a year?
GTKY: We are local to my ILs and my parents are across the country. We used to do T-day with my ILs and travel to my family. Since the baby was born just before Xmas last year, it has kind of jumbled plans. My family is coming to us for Xmas (we'll also celebrate with ILs, thankfully everyone gets along) and we are doing T-day with friends.
jewel441, what is she having a reaction to? I am sorry it is still going on We need to get in the food allergy/intolerance check in going again.
byjove the doctor thought it might be either soy or dairy or also might be nothing, they aren't 100%. We give her table food, and it happened after we ate at a restaurant. It was a mild reaction, some blood in the poop, which the doc said could just be an upset tummy from the restaurant or a protein intolerance (dairy, soy, gluten). Although they also said it's an unusual reaction for a baby her age, typically you see that in younger babies, but we haven't had any issues with solids or my diet until now. She has had dairy and gluten though before, but not soy. They were able to confirm that it was blood, and that it wasn't an infection or anything like that. We basically have to start over with solids and are back to just fruits and veggies. We will reintroduce those things more controlled when she is feeling better to see. Hopefully it was just something funky at the restaurant and not an allergy.

How old is baby? 8.5 months
How often are you nursing? Solids? NOD probably every 2-3 hours. Solids 3 times a day, a mix of purées and finger foods, depending on what we are eating. Little girl is a total carnivore. She wants all the meat.
How are nights? Usually we are up 2 times, sometimes 3. Last night only once and it was glorious! Bit all wake ups are less than 10 minutes so it's doable.
How is pumping/nursing going? Great. No complaints. My stud and my dud seem to have switched for pumping. But I only pump once in the morning so it's no big deal.
Q/rants/raves
GTKY: where do you spend the holidays? Do you have to split time between your and your SOs family? How do you split it? We all live in the same suburb, so we split the holidays. My family for thanksgiving lunch, his for dinner. Mine for Christmas Eve, his come to our house for Christmas Day in the afternoon. It's exhausting but it works. I love them coming to us because my kids can go to bed like normal and everyone can stay till whenever. We don't have to bail early for bedtime. We have the only young kids right now.

How old is baby? 11.75mo. next Saturday we turn one so this is my second to last check in here! I'm so excited!
How often are you nursing? Solids? We nurse 4-6x a day, lately on the 6 end with teeth discomfort. Solids probably every 2- 3 hours... She's always hungry!
How are nights? We still do a fair bit of night waking. So... Yeah. 1-2?
How is pumping/nursing going? Down to 1 pump a day! Im going keep once a day until she stops taking BM during the day. Nursing... She's been bitey more frequently lately.. I blame teeth. Youch.

GTKY: where do you spend the holidays? Do you have to split time between your and your SOs family? How do you split it? We used to split with both families. We've tried to make a concerted effort to do our own thing. My ILs are moving 7 hours away so more often than not, seeing family on holidays will be mine.

Do you guys know of any fun good for crawlers stuff to do downtown? You can PM me if you prefer. My mom lives downtown and she keeps telling me if I come down we can go to the park, but LO will last at the park for like 10 min bc she can't walk and just wants to eat mulch... I would love to have another suggestion for her. Other than just telling her to come to my dad's house (where we stay) which seems to be ticking her off. Lol

jewel441 my DD is almost 12mo and I think even at that age the Children's Museum is a little too much. At 8 months we did a trial Little Gym class and it was music based. She loved it.

Ya we are planning on going there but not specifically for LO. With cousins, etc where there are other kids, I was thinking it is worth it on a group basis but not for her individually

Yeah. 8 months is a hard age since theyre not doing too much! What about a nice drive out to Longwood? Also, Morris Arboretum in Chestnut Hill is having a holiday train display that opens over Thanksgiving weekend. It's more just stuff for her to look at but that might be nice. At that E loved to just watch people.
At the mall we LOVED the carousel but we did that closer to 10months.
