wineallthetime, that's the absolute worse. A month before I got pregnant with DD I went out for a friend's birthday and ended up getting more wasted than he did. I swear I was hungover for a week.
.
Omg, it's awful. My whole body feels like it was hit by a bus. I mean, I was drunk, but not THAT drunk. Parenting today was so not fun.

Isn't it weird how that happens? Sometimes I have two drinks and I'm very tipsy, other times I have two drinks and I don't feel any buzz at all. I love getting older!

Hey ladies. Just checking in to say we're all ok. Well ok as we can be. Devastated we've been slammed by Mother Nature again and trying to deal with the aftershocks while also trying to regain ones nerves. Finding it a lot harder this time with the kids. Standing over LOs cot with my hand on him, as DH did the same with DD, while our house twisted, tipped and turned and the earth roared for nearly two minutes is something I'll never forget. We've since had over 1200 aftershocks and some as big as 6.8. Lots of rescue efforts still going on and a lot of damage to our roads, and our coast. The sea bed in one area has shifted up 2.5 metres and stranded a whole lot of sea life and wiped out seal colonies. Slips have shut off a number of townships in and out and there's no road north for the foreseeable future.
But we're ok. We're picking up and standing strong again. 4 major quakes in 6 years has conditioned us to respond and as all the choppers fly over and you see all the aid going out it makes me a bit emotional and proud that we can recover once again.
Oh wow craftcrazymama, that is all so scarry! I grew up in Los Angeles, so I have been through a few large earthquakes, but nothing like you are describing. I am glad to hear you are all ok. Wow, the thought of having to physically protect kids from danger like that is overwhelming.
Up with a sick baby, his temp hit over 104 It came down with tylenol and a middle of the night bath. He still is being such a sweet little guy, just wanting to be held.
lovemyk, hope your LO feels better soon, and everyone gets some sleep.
We are supposed to get Internet installed today. They said they will get here sometime between 8-5. Wow, thanks for narrowing that down for me. I'll just wait here all day.
I left M in the living room sitting playing with a toy. I came back to him sitting across the room. I have no idea how he got there. I'm guessing he scooted? I've never seen him scoot. He can army crawl but I don't think he can get into a sitting position.
lovemyk, ear infections can look like so many other things (especially teething, which you do not need to go to a doctor for, obviously), people miss them all the time. Do not beat yourself up for not taking him in earlier.
adelbert, I hope everyone feels better soon. I hear you on the nights are long. Symptoms and fevers always get so much worse in both of mine at night. DS was in good spirits all day, and now his temp is spiking, and he is really upset.
buttercup, that is beautiful, and that is so sweet of that woman.
Over 104 again tonight, I hate this. My poor baby.
That's pretty high. Have you guys been to the doctor? I freak out when it hits 100.
The nurses line told us not to come in till 105. I am getting really upset though, and may take him in anyways. This morning, after no tylenol overnight his temp in his bottom was 99.9, but forhead was 101, which is so different.
All these sick babies are breaking my heart! Courtniko, I think it's time to take him in to rule out an ear infection or something that can be treated.
My dad called yesterday and said they wanted to visit today while DH is out of town. Awesome! Then my mom calls and says they will meet us at 1 to go out for lunch. First, H naps at 1 like clockwork since he was born. Second, no I'm not packing up 2 kids alone to meet you at a restaurant my kids will go crazy at. How did they completely forget what it's like to have kids?
Back from the doctor, they tested for a bunch of stuff, flu, and a bunch of blood work. Everything came back clear. They are assuming it is viral for now and sent us home with more tylenol. When the tylenol is working, DS is alert and happy, but when it wares off before the 4 hours when we can give him another dose, he is pretty miserable. His temp does always go down with a cool bath, and tylenol, we just have to continually keep it up. The 104 plus temp have all been forhead, the rectal temp have all been lower, but still high, and his whole body is just hot. I guess it will be another long night.
My baby decided to start crawling yesterday - when I wasn't home. I'm home all the freakin time! I found out via text from H.
FFSatC: I was out getting a massage and it was heavenly. I'm really not all that sad that I missed that milestone for a massage. Am I the worst? If I were grocery shopping or something lame, I'd be pissed. Anyway, I'm screwed now that she's mobile.
Work has been kicking my butt. My mom flew in this weekend to help out so I can go into the office. It should be busy until Christmas and then hopefully I can catch a break.
scotty138 I'm thinking of you in the deer stand and it's making me laugh. Stay warm!
