Anyone successfully done this yet? I have a 3 day weekend coming up and I'm crossing all my fingers that we can make this work. I wouldn't Rush this process at all but we are in a bit of a situation. DD has extremely sensitive skin and can only wear Huggies pure and natural. They only go up to a size 5 and she's starting to pee out of them every day now where she really needs a size bigger. So...we have picked out big girl panties, have a stool, and ring for the potty. She's practiced a lot to get used to it. The plan was to let her wear her big girl panties and take her to the bathroom every 30 min this weekend. Good, bad, or awful plan??

Well, as you may have read, my child is especially self-directed, so take this with that in mind... But we tried over Christmas. Before that, she loved to just hang out on the potty, would go on it sometimes, and would ask to go and then use it occasionally. We gave her a ton of fluid, as instructed, and set out the potty, and she would not let us set her on it. She leaked all over the room constantly, developed a strong potty aversion, and now will not go near the potty. She will probably not try again for years. Other people had more success, and your mellow approach of just suggesting frequently might work better.

We are daytime trained. Haven't done night yet. The plan you have in place is almost identical to what we did. We used regular underwear and took him to the bathroom every 40min to an hour. Make sure to heap on tons of praise and high fives when she does go in the potty. Good luck!

We're day trained now. We didn't follow a 3 day plan, instead we did a 'baby led transition from diapers to potty'. We let him choose if he wanted to use the potty, if he was having multiple accidents we put diapers back on. He was lacking the communication aspect of it which is what took him so long. Now he can tell us he has to go and we can get his pants down, before he needed to be naked or he would hold it until we took him/pee his pants. I ask him every 2ish hours if he has to go if he hasn't asked by then.
We were unsuccessful. She ended up being sick and had to start antibiotics so I gave up pretty quickly. It was stressing her and she said "diaper please" so I'm thinking we just aren't there yet.
