We're doing grey walls, with mint, gold and some white as accents. I just started stenciling the one wall where the crib will be, but I still have some work to do. Hopefully this picture works!
We picked up a dresser off of CL and painted that mint. The rest of the furniture, crib and rocking chair, will be neutral. I'm adding just a few pictures to the walls, the one below and maybe 2 more. Bedding will be like in the picture, just without the bumper.
If you have a Hobby Lobby near you, they have a ton of cute decor/artwork in mint and gold right now. I was just there the other day and was noticing how cute it was, but we're doing a grey/blue/white nursery. Cute ideas, everyone!
Are y'all getting plain gliders for your nurseries, or full on rocker recliners? We've been looking at recliners for my future sleepless nights, when I'm large and uncomfortable. Also, I figured it wouldn't hurt to have something to recline in while holding baby later on.

Rocker recliner all the way. I had a glider for the first year of DDs life, and it was fine. But then we got a rocker recliner, and it's so much more comfy and awesome in every way.
This thread inspired me to stop shopping for baby clothes and get to work on the nursery! So this weekend I finally got started.. I ordered this stuff as well as different pattern purple sheets for our celestial/elephant theme nursery. I'm going to attempt to DIY the crib mobile myself:

We got this glider/rocker from Target.
We got this ottoman off Amazon to go with it to match our color scheme:
We contemplated a recliner, but our nursery is a smaller room, we have an oversized arm chair in the living room that I can curl up in if necessary and they were more than we wanted to spend. The chair we got is very comfortable, even for DH, so we're happy with it!
leenziepops I'm in the same boat as you. I just ordered a big sticker on ebay last night. I plan on having a Classic Winnie the Pooh theme, but first I need to clean out the room. I can't paint because I rent, so everything decorative will have to be via the furniture/ decals.

oh yay nursery talk! I am loving everyone's creativity and ideas, can't wait to see some finished products.
We are having a little girl and I wanted a very soft feminine feeling with a bit of country thrown in. So far we have painted the room a light creamy color and we have a dresser that we bought from Craiglslist that is a French Provencial style that I will paint either a mint green or a light coral. The last picture is some paint swatches that I grabbed for accent color inspiration. Mint, coral, creams and golds with a touch of navy here and there in small bits.
I love so much in this thread! The wood panel walls would be awesome. And all the elephants mrskblack11, adorable!
We aren't changing our nursery, but I am excited to put together a "big boy" room for DS that will likely have a tractor/truck/farm theme. I just haven't really done anything yet, but we do have a bed on order that we should be able to pick up tomorrow or Wednesday!

Such awesome ideas from everyone! I haven't done too much yet with the room, but I have plenty of ideas! We want to a nautical/rowing theme for our little boy, and our main colors will be white, light grey, navy blue, light blue, and some red or yellow accents. We want to get a white crib and dresser, and are using some of the photos below for inspiration!
I want a print like this so badly for LO's room! And we rent, so we can paint the walls - we'll just need to paint them back to white before we move.
I'm thinking a book theme. I want gray walls and lots of bookshelves. I saw a Harry Potter nursery on pinterest the other day, and I will admit (as an avid fan) I was tempted.
Where did you find the fantasyland road sign??? I love it!!
Here's what we've got so far! One wall (the one opposite the wall with the artwork) will be painted with a mural of a fairy tale castle and we got these cool butterflies to hang from the ceiling. The lamps we registered for have princess-y chandelier shades. I want it to be princess but NOT Disney princess, if that makes sense. The artwork is my favorite part! We got it all at Home Goods for less than $50!
We're obviously going with dark wood and light pink accents. The glider I'm getting is the same color story. Fell in love with the bookends at Home Goods too ($5!) - baby girl will obviously have TONS of books since mommy is an English teacher! My mom got the first few for Christmas.

Seeing all these lovely pinterest nurseries and the real ones from the organised ladies of this board; here is my nursery IRL. I hope it inspires you with its cuteness, organisedness and beauty. Baby will be plonked some where on top of the pillows and clothes. If you want to know how I did it I can provide step by step instructions.

I just wanted to bump this thread because our roommate (one of them at least) is moving out this weekend and we finally get to start on baby's room! I think we have everything except some sort of nursing chair.
Any more nursery updates? I love seeing all the pics and ideas. I've even wandered over to other bmbs to scope their nurseries.
My theme is a little random still, I'm not sure how it's all going to work yet. Our dresser, crib, and storage cube 3x3 is all black/dark wood, but the glider I fell in love with only came in white, so that corner of the room won't match as well...
Walls are a light blue, and crib sheets will be spring green, we have a cute green rug with cheerful orange flowers, and some cute Winnie the Pooh stuff on the walls. We're getting a floor lamp with colored glass sconces (multicolored, but I might be ordering green so they all match). It's definitely a work in progress, and I kind of feel like I'm going too many directions. Once things start arriving, it will help me figure it out.
We are doing blue, green and gray. Elephants and a few giraffes (I had to compromise with DH on this element. I wanted all elephants and he didn't dig it). Furniture is dark wood. We are putting in laminate wood flooring next Wednesday.
Here are some pics of my progress:
Hamper:
I bought this mobile but with a different shade of blue:
My mom bought this painting and I haven't decided if I like it or not:
I admit I'm a lurker from the July board. But I cant help but ask where you got that elephant hamper? I've been searching for one and can't seem to find one in my area. Sorry I hope I'm not being Internet creepy!

Update: The room is furnished.
We're putting the finishing touches on LBB's room, but got him all new furniture so the glider, crib, and dresser are in place. (Still need to move the guest bed in from the garage, order the prints, get a new changing pad cover, steam clean the glider which is covered in 3 years of toddler, and raise the mattress and put up the side of the crib).
Got the crib skirt (shown) and matching valance. Ordered the sheers and black out shade for the window.
DH just put together the "nursing table" today, along with the lamp we picked up last weekend.
I bought the felt for the mobile and decided I was going to make my own knobs for the dressers, so the knobs are coming and I got all the paint.
My nursery is still a storage room The crib is in but we need to pick it up. Today I added a handful of cute black and white sheets to my registry. Still so much cleaning to do before we can even get the floor refinished. We had a fight earlier about going to get a dresser I found on Craigslist. I'm jealous of how on top of it you ladies are!

My MIL got us this fugly, incredibly uncomfortable, musty smelling glider for $50 from a coworker. This is getting rehabbed and put somewhere else.
My dad ended up getting us the Eddie Bauer Chair and a Half Rocker from Target. I haven't sat in it yet. Waiting for it to be delivered. But the reviews were really great. We're going to get a big poof as a foot rest.
I picked out this one as well! It is getting delivered tomorrow - I hope it is comfortable, it was one of the things I wanted most!
I love seeing everyone's progress! DH finished painting and cleaning the hardwood floors so the next step is to buy a new area rug so we can start swapping furniture. I feel like my design ideas cannot be finalized until we have the rug since I prefer for the rug to be a statement piece, especially since the ways are a more blahh color than I originally planned. IMO there are less interesting area rugs out there that are youthful and masculine without being overly childish. (I had plenty of options for DD!) DH is being irrationally cheap too (and we need an 8X10), which isn't helping. One of the ones I've been thinking about is this one, but I am hesitant about it being hand-woven when I would prefer low pile.

This is the bedding I bought, just waiting for it to ship (should be mid March they tell me)
And this is what 3/5 walls look like in the nursery (yes there are 5 walls-strange architecture because it's a corner room)
Other 2 walls will be cream with gold polka dots. And now we wait for the glider so I can start playing around with furniture and see where I want it to go! Currently a disaster area while DH replaces trim.....

Wow a couple of people are so far along! We just picked this gal up last week from a Craigslist buy. It came with a nightstand and a mirror but I'm going back and forth on whether I'll use them. I am getting some fabric samples before I decide on the shade I want to paint it...there is plenty of sanding to be done in the mean time. Trying to decide on a crib will be next.
Got DH to finally agree on a color scheme and we put the big ticket items on our registry (some family members want to contribute on the big stuff). Our work on the nursery got delayed as we now have to also set up a guest room for my mom who is going to stay with us for a month or so and she wants flooring put in (she had sensitive sinuses). So we're now working in 2 rooms with 14 weeks to go
Baby Elliott (technically) due 6.13.2015 but born via c-section on 4.12.2015 at 31w1d after 31d of hospital arrest (think house arrest) for monitoring.
