I think we have finally picked a theme!! I don't know why but I saw this and loved it !!! I like the classic bumble bees not associated with winney the pooh. What do you guys think?
AW! Just finished this shelf that will be hanging over the changing table. Loved having pegs right there to hang things on with DS1 and I'm so glad we found a way to do it with this one too. And DS1 wants you to know he painted the letters.
This may not seem like a lot but it took weeks of pestering DH to get to this point. We reupholstered the bench and I covered the wooden letters with scrap booking paper.
Rental, so no painting, and we're re-using the cherry nursery set we used with DS. Last time my parents were here, I was planning on making curtains from some pink cherry blossom brocade I've had for ages. But when my mom got here, she pulled out of her bag a My Little Pony curtain, wastebasket, rug, and piggy banks. She'd already made some flower fairy cross stitch pictures for me, she hung a small stuffed version of my favorite pony from the ceiling (so the pony flies), and we made a birdhouse/flower/butterfly mobile to tie the two themes together, and we also got a My Little Pony lamp. Since I love butterflies, I'd ordered a set of costume butterfly wings for DD, and they are hung over her picture-a-month frame and headband holder. We already had about 4 handmade blankets, too, and I got some butterfly sheets to supplement what we already have from DS.
When she outgrows the changing table, I'm going to put a back and sides on it, turning it into a dollhouse.
@demanda88 nicolec78fatmilkisdelish Thanks ladies! You should have seen this room when we first moved in, it was a smelly disaster! We bleached the walls and ceilings and there were so many layers of paint (latest was bright turquoise) that it was peeling off so we had to sand down two of the walls and retexture. All new doors, light fixture, paint, and window trim. It was originally my 'closet room' kind of set up like a boutique with clothing racks and a standing mirror etc. I almost cried when we took it all down and I had to get rid of a lot of my clothes, but I love it even more as Baby's room!
txngrl31 Thank you so much! I love Interior Design. I almost went back to school to get a degree in it. My mom and I took one class which was really fun but I'm just not ready to give up the security of my full time finance job. I do wedding coordination and design on the side though...and my mom, H, and I refinish & sell furniture as a small side business/hobby. Hopefully it doesn't all fall to the wayside once the baby is here because it's definitely nice to have a creative outlet!
So I did get some things done in the nursery today. Finished the paint trim around the ceiling, hung up the shelf over the changing table/dresser, and organized the pile that was on the table. Still need to hang the blinds and valance and put up the pictures over the crib. And DH will put up the ceiling fan tomorrow when DS is home (DS is dying to help with that part.) Oh, and I need to find a rug. But it's starting to look like a baby will be living in the third bedroom now and if he showed up tomorrow (please don't, little dude) we'd be ready.
Made some progress today. We finally got our bookcase, and I assembled it all by myself today! Normally, DH takes care of these things, but I was feeling independent, and it seemed like a great project to tackle. Still waiting for our dresser to arrive before we put up our artwork, but it's getting there!
txngrl31, I love the flowers especially! Your bedding is really sweet, too. I am so happy to be having a boy, but part of me really loves all the girly stuff you guys are posting. Everyone's nurseries look so great!
For anyone out there whose nursery looks like this:
This is MAJOR progress as it was still our office/filled with baby boxes this morning. Painting this week so we can go pick up our crib from Pottery Barn (it arrived there a month ago...), lay down the rug and have our dresser delivered the first weekend in May. Slowly but surely....
Such a lovely room, so many windows and pretty view outside!

Awwww thanks! I've seen so many cute baby boy nursery ideas too. While at Pottery Barn Kids last weekend, I caught my husband in the baby boy section looking at all of the super hero decor. I patted him on the back and said, "next one." Haha! I think it's easier with little girls to decorate with cutesy stuff, but with a boy, I've seen some super creative decor.

Thank you! It is my favorite room in the house. It's really peaceful and quiet. Plus, the new home office is attached to our garage and I can see into the nursery from there...so I will be able to spy on the nanny. Hopefully LO will love it!
I'm so jelly over the huge nurseries I'm seeing. My poor LO has such a tiny space @kpatter I love the windows belle0720 too amazing!
Ours only gets a nook in our bedroom. It's cute but only a weird little triangle that is in our room. It has a rocking chair and a changing table that doubles as a dresser. We have a co-sleeper that will go next to our bed. So don't be sad. They are tiny people they don't need much space. But I agree that it would be lovely to have the space.
kemdupuis -- I love your nursery! Ours is very similar with light grey walls and dark furniture. Great job on the bookcase...and I love your little Wally =). I was going to look for a bear with a red sox t-shirt but I think Wally might be the way to go.

I will! If we actually get the curtains up today that is. I ironed them yesterday but didn't want them to wrinkle so they are currently draped over the crib rendering it invisible. Oh and there is the whole matter of learning how to post pictures. I haven't even figured out how to like peoples posts yet!
But yeah...it is patriots here for us but same deal. We have so many patriots/bruins clothes. Someone even knit us a black and gold blanket and put a bruins patch on it! Little one really isn't going to have a choice.
I use tapatalk to post pictures- it's way easier than trying to do it on here.
We are Bruins, Celtics fans too- I used to be a Pats fan (and I definitely still not so secretly cheer for them when they're not playing Dallas), until I started dating DH 10 or so years ago. We both grew up in the Northeast, but he has always been a Cowboys fan. They won a lot of Superbowls when we were young, so I guess I get it. Can't wait to see your room! I bet it's supercute!

Cowboys fan!?!? And here I thought you were a cool girl...hahaha jk. I am from Houston and was born born and bred to loathe the Cowgirls. We are big Texan fans, but now living in Pats territory and so not fans of the Pats. We have know the safe bars in town to watch the Texans at bc the Pat fans can get hostile haha. I love that y'all incorporated a sports theme in your nursery! Totally the way to go! We plan to put a few Texan items in our little girl's room, including a onesie for football season.

I love my boston teams, but will readily admit that sometimes boston fans can be jerks with taunting other fans and taunting other teams. I am sorry you have to search for safe places to freely root for your team. I was at a Bruins/Canadiens playoff game last year and felt really bad for the Canadiens fans sitting next to us. They didn't wear any Canadiens gear and definitely kept their cheering/celebrating to a muted level (granted we won so there wasn't much celebrating for them to do!). Then after the game we were at a table at a crowded bar with extra seats and a few people came over and asked if they could sit with us...we said sure and they said all apologetically "we are Canadian though..." and I felt so bad that they felt they had to disclose this and give us the chance to say we changed our minds. Friendly rivalry is all well and good but my guess is that they have dealt with a lot of meanies. To be fair though, I don't know that I would go to Montreal wearing a Bruins jersey either...that's asking for trouble! =)
Yeah, Boston fans are pretty diehard, but I feel like any city you go to that has a strong enough fan base can get like that. I think it just comes with the territory, though. DH and I have followed our teams around the country, and we always proudly wear our gear. I will say though, when we went to World Series game 3 in 2013 in St. Louis, the fans that we were sitting around were super friendly and we all had fun cheering for our team and gently ribbing each other when our team pulled ahead. When we left the game (after the Red Sox lost) it was a totally differnt story. People were yelling at us and throwing things. I think it's all who is around you, and TBH, how drunk they are haha. I just love sports (baseball is by far my favorite, though) and I'm so excited to share that love of the game with our little guy.
