Today I'm going to try mommy and me yoga with DD for the first time. She likes doing yoga with me at home, but we'll see if she can focus for the full length of a class.
Report back about how it goes please! Remind me how old your DD is? My MIL is a huge yogi and I know she would be tickled pink if DS did it.
She's 2.5. The class was an hour long. There were 7 moms at the class, and the kids ranged from 1.5 to 4 years old. A few kids were very shy and never left their moms' laps. The 4 year old did most of the poses. DD did some of it, but then she ran around a bit too, and decided to sing some songs to herself. At some point just about every kid cried. So it wasn't a relaxing yoga class, or a good workout, but DD seemed to enjoy it and wants to go back. And it was nice to see other moms of toddlers and that every toddler acts like a little jerk sometimes.
Well, a cousin in law outed my pregnancy on FB. FML. I'm 9 weeks, keep your trap shut.
This is my fear. We are telling family/extended family on Thanksgiving and asking them to keep it off FB. We have little faith DH's family will respect that because they get KU just by looking at someone and don't understand some people are cautious. Because of that I told my boss on Friday because I didn't want her to find out through the accidental grapevine.
This probably doesn't mean anything to anyone else here, but H and I are at the CFL west final and we are having so much fun! My parents have DS and are keeping him overnight and our team is up 32-0 at half time. We went out for brunch first and browsed at a book store and are meeting BIL and SIL for supper after the game. Today is a good day 😊.

This is my pet peeve. Why why why do people do this??? I see people do this a lot. Or even announce someone else's birth. For my entire pregnancy I changed my FB settings so I had to approve what people posted on my wall or tagged me in. I know it doesn't stop everything but at least I felt like I was actively preventing
I would call that person up and bitch them out and tell them all of the ways that it was totally rude of them to announce your news! And never speak to them again

I found out my BFF was in labor because her SIL posted it. I was hurt and also mad for my friend because clearly she would have told me/others if she wanted us to know. I hate people and social media!
Both of our families have a tendency of having big mouths. They put our engagement on Facebook before we had a chance. This time around, when we announced to them that we were pregnant, we told them that if anybody posted on Facebook or told anybody…
They will be finding out if we are having a boy or girl on Facebook and not at our reveal party.
They have managed to keep the secret for six weeks so far, I would say mission accomplished.
All this talk of people sharing your news is frustrating. I was very firm with my family and I'm pretty sure they won't do anything. However, once we tell extended family I'm sure it will be posted on Facebook and told to all of their friends. At that point I care less.
It's going to be interesting when we tell my family we don't want any photos of our kid(s) on social media. Totally fine if other people want to share their kids, this is just my and H's personal wishes. I'm hoping we won't get a fight, but we'll see.

My babysitter posted about my pregnancy on Facebook and tagged me in it, but none of my friends commented, so I'm guessing the privacy settings were such that only her friends could see it. Whatever, she has a huge heart and is so excited that I'm pregnant. And I don't want to alienate a good babysitter!
starsandshamrocks123 we did the same thing and changed FB settings around the time I was due with my kids so no one could let everyone know before we did.
marshian we're the same way about kids on facebook. I have posted maybe 10 total kid/family pictures since my daughter was born over 4 years ago. Mainly because I have so many facebook friends I haven't seen in a decade or people I don't really know all that well, so part of it is a privacy thing. And I prefer for my kids not to have a major internet history before they can consent to it. Plus I'm not a big FB person anyway. I monitor it for other people's news but rarely post anything.
We were firm about it with everyone initially (especially the in laws) but now they're all used to it. At first I would just untag me and send a nice personal message like 'hey, that's a great picture you took of (my kid). If you don't mind, we're trying not to have pictures of the kids on facebook. Would you mind taking it down and sending it to me instead?' Or something along those lines....
PSA on a great crib deal at BRU: $99 (plus shipping) for the Sorelle Berkley 4 in 1 crib in gray, white, or espresso. Amazon is selling them for like double that price.
sdlaura - I'm glad I'm not alone with the Facebook thing. I hope they can get on board and it becomes the norm for our family. For me it's the consent issue as well as just general privacy concerns.

GDI my watch battery died. I have to bring it to get replaced tomorrow and if they can't do it on the spot then I will have to be without a watch until after Thanksgiving

I had to get to work early today because my Drs appt was this afternoon and I was leaving work early. Well the early train got delayed so I got to work at the same time I normally do. So much for that. Glad I got up 45 mins earlier.
Now, taking a later train than normal home because of the appt.... And there's a broken train ahead of us. We're going nowhere. On top of that I'm really gassy. So basically I'm not going to get home for at least another hour and a half...
I'm about to have a meltdown.
Bright side: I don't have to pee yet. And DH was picking DS up from daycare anyway so at least no stress about that.

Yay!!! That's exciting, I'll admit I didn't watch it because we don't have TV but I used to go to all the Ticats games when I was in university

Fun! We went to the grey cup in Vancouver two years ago when the Stamps were in it (against the Ticats!) and H has been trying to convince me we should go to Toronto this weekend for the last month. I would love to, but it's a lot more complicated now with DS and I have commitments every day this weekend that I can't back out of. Oh well, we'll definitely be watching on TV!

starsandshamrocks123, Are you on the same train as my H? lol He texted me that he thinks they are pushing another train because they are barely moving.

Lol I'm actually on the train behind the train that's pushing another train!Probably the same line although the commuter rail seems to be struggling all over the place today. I wonder if your husband is as ragey as I am right now?!?!
Wasn't sure where to ask this: Our building is updating our fitness room in December. I'm on the board and had volunteered to help move everything out and also to paint. It's typical gym equipment: Treadmill, weights, basically heavy things.
Can I help move stuff (with help) as long as I lift properly? What about painting if I wear a mask and we have fans helping ventilate? Or just don't do any of it?

teachermomtobe thanks. Still prob another half hour before I get in the door. If I had taken my normal train I would have avoided all of this. But my appt went well so I shouldn't complain!
Tell your H that I feel his pain! Been a long day!
marshian and chicagochic, I'm rewatching GG before Friday too!! I'm so stinking excited for the new episodes! I can't wait to see what's happening in Rory's life.

My doctor said to lift nothing over 50 pounds and even that should be rarely and only if you are alr day typically lifting up to 50 pounds. I would avoid the treadmills and heavier things and maybe just do the lighter weights
