TL; DR: Current family mini drama is convincing my sister to not take a long drive on no sleep.
My mom, sister and I are currently trying to convince my other sister to not start driving to my parents' house for Christmas at an insane hour of the night right after she and her bf go to her bf's family's party. It's not safe to drive on little to no sleep and it's a 6-hour trip. Her bf is being thoughtful in saying he wants her to have more time with our family, but it's stressing me out. I already know they drive super fast, it will be winter, and my sister tends to text/Snapchat while driving, so I really hope they don't add exhaustion to the list of risks they take. Ugh, I'm such a typical oldest sibling.
Apparently I have many things today. We have a claim going for us and one for our downstairs neighbors because our fridge water line sprung a leak. The adjuster for my neighbor keeps calling and emailing him to call him after I told him I have a busy week at work and barely have free time during his office hours. I've been chained to conference calls and been given tasks due immediately. Dude, I'll call when I can. Chill out.
Also, I just watched the new Britney video. Damn girl!! 😳
Watched... some of it. You know what? I'm jealous of people whose lives have fallen so tragically apart and they remain skinny. Like, how has she not discovered sympathy food? Regardless, she still looks like a teeny bopper! ::through my teeth:: good for her.
Oh how I loved when she shaved her head and went off the deep end. The girl has a good personal trainer! It looks like she did something to her lips too.
I like when famous people admit they have trainers and nutritionists and personals chefs and nannies helping them look amazing. Chrissy Teigen recently posted about all that and it's so refreshing to realize they'd be just like everyone else without the entourage.
I share an office with a coworker (my branch closed and it sucks) and she smells. I can't effin stand this. Last week I spoke to my assistant manager and nothing has changed. I'm getting irritated. She smells like wet dog.
Just put kiddo down for his nap and settled in with potstickers for lunch and American horror story in TV. And a storm rolled in... nice mood setting, Mother Nature.
This storm system is freaking my dog out. She hates rain and wind but lightning and thunder are even worse. I feel bad because she just shakes like a leaf.

Ew. Can you bring in an air freshener?
Probably. I'm just annoyed. I was told wearing a vest is unprofessional, but she stinks every single day. COME ON! I know my sniffer may just be sensitive, but I can smell her across an office so other people must be able to smell it too.
People hate hygiene conversations at work. Like avoid at all costs. I had a smelly coworker and no one ever talked to him about it. He smelled like a Trashcan with an ashtray.

Can you find an essential oil to dab under your nose? I agree with you that you shouldn't have to do anything, but just to survive?
My cousin does a lot with essential oils. I wonder if she can help me.

I know! I told my manager, "I get this is an uncomfortable conversation to have, but...."

honda13 I had to give that talk to someone at work once. It was so awkward and I was a new manager so they elected me for the conversation because no one wanted to do it. Tom, you need to wear deodorant to work. I felt bad, but it got much better after that

honda13 no kidding... But no one needs to suffer because someone smells bad! I sat next to a guy who would fart at his cube but kept spray at his desk and would spray it before he farted. It was terrible. I would know once I smelled lavender that a horrible fart was coming. Did he think he was fooling everyone? That was a conversation I didn't end up having because he was eventually fired for other reasons.
We just sold our house today. The bad news is that the house we were buying fell through so now we are homeless, not really but still. The woman that bought our house is being super nice and letting us stay until the end of the month, but now we have to move into my mom's house until we find another house to buy. I'm so angry and frustrated. We only sold our house to move into the other perfect for our new situation/life house. We would have loved to stay in our house and neighborhood for longer if we hadn't been trying to buy stupid perfect house.
Ugh that sucks. I'm so sorry but I hope something better comes along

Today I'm going to try mommy and me yoga with DD for the first time. She likes doing yoga with me at home, but we'll see if she can focus for the full length of a class.

Took a walk down to the bread store with DS in the stroller. Walk down: 20 minutes, mostly fine, but it started drizzling partway there. Walk back: bad and mostly uphill. I haven't been able to eat enough to keep my strength up, so I had to stop to rest often. Drizzling off and on. I called my dad at one point to see if he could pick us up. MH is out of town for the day, and it turns out my parents are too. We just finished walking home almost an hour later. Blahhhh...

trebletrouble13, oh no! Glad you're home but that sounds terrible. I hear you on not being able to eat enough to keep up your strength. Last week I went for a walk around the block and told DH to be ready to come pick me up if I called.

teachermomtobe - I forgot how much walking uphill drains me. I have mostly been living on handfuls of goldfish crackers and chocolate teddy grahams whenever I can convince my stomach to take them (because that is about all it will take). My OB would not prescribe me anything for the nausea, despite the fact that I had lost a little over 10 lbs in the month between my visits. MH thinks I might not have complained loudly enough for her to take me seriously. I like your plan; I should have put my brother on call. 🙂

cateyes, I feel like with Christmas coming up we should start ours too. DH and I never want anything and our families get annoyed because they want to buy us gifts anyway. It would be great this year if we can just tell people to buy things for baby!

That's exactly why we did it. Plus my family is really big into Black Friday shopping and I know if we don't tell them what to get, they will decide everything on their own. They have good intentions but it's a bit much sometimes.
