H & I are going to the draft house movie theater to see Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them this morning. Then our BFFs are coming down for the day and staying tonight. And tomorrow is Friendsgiving. Plus I busted my butt yesterday to get all the laundry done, lawn mowed, and house vacuumed/mopped. And I gave Carl a bath. I did every damn thing yesterday.
Bring it, weekend!!
My soft pallet is sore and swollen this morning but I'm going to ignore it and pretend I didn't catch O's cold. Because I'm planning too much awesome to be sick.
It's 7:45 and I'm still in bed. I thought we were waking up at 6:15, but I think I successfully ignored DS chatting long enough and he's still sleeping!!! And we have zero plans this weekend - last weekend of the year with no plans so I fully plan on enjoying some quiet before holiday craziness sets in!
We were supposed to meet my ILs at a store known for an elaborate Christmas display an hour away today, but they cancelled because they have a snow watch starting at 4. They were supposed to be home by 4 (&I offered for us all to meet earlier), so I'm kind of upset. H said we could still go so...we'll see.
If we don't go I want to convince h to go look at Christmas trees. Ours is too big and we need a smaller, skinnier one.

Have a great weekend everyone!
I'm supposed to take photos today but the mom just messaged me asking if it's possible to reschedule. I get that it's cold outside, but you booked an outdoor photoshoot at the end of November. This is Canada. It's only going to get colder. Put on a cute hat, cuddle in plaid blankets and turn it into a hot chocolate drinking photoshoot.
So I may or may not be taking photos today but I will most definitely be baking cookies with a super excited 3 year old. She's been wearing her apron since 7 am.

Ive got SS this weekend and SOs at work today. Jazz is crabby and early napping so everything crossed that its not something brewing.
This afternoon we'll hang with my sister and her kids. Orange chicken in the crockpot for dinner! Tomorrow I'm going in to work just for a few hours. Woohoo overtime!

We got our first flakes of the season this morning. DS did not look amused. We also got his snow pants delivered this morning. He screamed bloody murder when we tried them on him. So, looks like it'll be a fun winter for us.
One of the tasks I set out for myself today was to organize one of our closets that had gotten out of control. Just yesterday I thought to myself-that will be a good Saturday job. Well H got up before me today and somehow thought the exact same thing even though I hadn't mentioned it. When we were talking about the day I said I'll just need a few minutes to organize that and he said "seriously? Go look!" He went and did it already! Great minds, and now I don't have to do it haha!
This afternoon we'll set up a couple Christmas lawn ornaments for our front yard as we got the house and trees done when it was warmer out.
And tomorrow DS has gymnastics in the afternoon and we'll head to the city from there to the Festival of Trees! Our first big Christmas activity of the year!
Also, found a full body Patagonia snow suit for V for 10 bucks at a garage sale!
I got DD's full snow ensemble (including boots) buying off my HOA garage sale page for $17. Few things make me happier than a bargain on kids clothes that will only be used a handful of times.
For anyone planning to see it, carrots, Fantastic Beasts was great! It felt so good to be back in the wizarding world. This was also the first time since 2002 that I saw one of the movies without reading the book first. I know there isn't an actual book for the plot for this storyline but you know what I mean. It was magical and I didn't know what to expect aside from wonder.
jessila I feel like reading the book written about a movie beforehand always leads to disappointment. At least that's my experience in the last few years. I'm glad you enjoyed the movie.

Hanging out at the inlaws and realizing I have to make desserts for a mtg tomorrow night. Pumpkin pie tarts and pecan tarts for 15 people, not a huge deal. I'm procrastinating on a shopping list for the holidays. I love shopping for my nieces and nephew on my side of the family because B and SIL are always thrilled with whatever the kids get. They don't have many parameters for gifts. DH's side is a different matter, and after all the rules are in place (no noisy toys, no dolls, etc), shopping is more of an obligation and a chore. Probably getting them all clothes. Maybe I'm just in a judgy mood.

For anyone overly invested in my sunglass saga:
Yesterday LBB asked if we could "go get our nails done at a place." So I took him for a pedicure. While there I popped into Nordstrom to talk to them about by sunglasses. The guy was insistent they take them back and get me a new pair, they don't carry that specific model anymore, but he basically just told me to pick out any sunglasses I liked and they'd do an exchange.
So yay new sunglasses! (Although I cried a little leaving the store. I'm going to miss those sunglasses. They were my birthday present the day BH was born. I remember opening them in the hospital room, surrounded by my now complete family.)
