Water broke this morning at about 8:30. Got checked in at the hospital about 10:45. They just started me on Pitocin and said it's going to be a long day.

Sorry if any of this is a repeat. Water broke at 8:30am Sunday morning with no contractions. Checked into the hospital about 11am. Contractions weren't terrible but they wanted me to get the epidural so they could cath me and they wanted to try place internal monitors as they were having a hard time with the belly ones. The epidural was AWESOME!
They had me start pushing about 10pm, I think? A was born at 12:55. I continued to push for another hour/hour and a half but C was having decels and hadn't come down at all. Not even with the help of the vacuum. They decided an emergency c-section would be best. C was born at 2:05am.
Both are in the NICU and will likely be there for a couple weeks. A is already off his CPAP and they put a onsie and cap on him after his bath tonight. I haven't gotten to hold him yet but should be able to during his next assessment this evening. C had some trauma to his head but he's in NICU because his heart rate is still fluctuating. I did get to do skin-to-skin with him after I got out of recovery and got to hold him again this afternoon.
Each weighed just under 5lbs. I love them so much already and can't wait to have them home to snuggle!

dream2be3 congrats on your sweet boys! Such strong names. Sorry to hear about the complications. Hope both babies have short nicu stays. Get some much needed rest...

Congratulations dream2be3! They are beautiful and I LOVE their names!!
Leaving the hospital partially empty-handed (in my case) was the hardest part of my entire L&D experience. Try to lean on your support system and remember that you need care too.

I am not looking forward to leaving without them on Thursday. At least we live just a few minutes away from the hospital. Plus it will give me see time to heal from the c-section. Not ideal but I know they are in good hands when I'm not there.
