I need some help from my other northern ladies. I do not own real snow boots. I used to have some but gave them to my mom because I never wore them. Now that H is old enough to want to play in the snow I need to get boots and snow pants. I'm thinking I want to get Sorel Joan of Arctic boots and am wondering if any of you have them. Any other suggestions?
I have looked at those boots and been interested in them as well!
But, I ended up getting Bogs and have been really happy with them. Super easy to slip on and off (no lacing) and I pretty much wore them with everything last winter. No complaints!

I don't know about them. Sorel generally makes good winter gear though. I have merrels (I think) I like them, I used to walk to work from the train 15 minutes and train home another 15 no cold feet or anything. I could hike 2 hours before I'd be chilled. (Unless it was a really really cold day) my issue was the tops chafed my legs. I had to make sure to wear socks that were high enough to prevent that or double up if I was walking for long. Once that got broken in they were great. I couldn't wear them last season mainly because I couldn't bend to lace them...

I have a pair of Merrell shoes and they are very good quality. During the winter DH usually wears Merrell tennis shoe/hiking shoe (?) style of a shoe rather than regular tennis shoes.
My BFF has them! And I LOVE them. And they are so cute I say I'm going to get them every year and then I wear my target knock offs for another season. But this might be the year I buy them

I feel like shoes are one.place you can splurge because your feet *usually* don't change size.
