Well I just posted in randoms, but I had my last visit with the RE this morning. Ultrasound showed baby measuring right on track at 7w3d with a HB of 161.
My first appt. is tonight at 7:15 pm. I'll update after it's over. I'm really hoping for an ultrasound.
They have appointments that late? That's awesome! Mine has appointments from 8:15 to 4:15.
Yup, not every day but I think twice a week they have evening appointments up until 8 pm. I love this practice! They did not have this when I was pregnant with J 3 years ago.

My old dentist used to have 7 am and up to 7 Pm appointments a few days a week it was awesome. Oh well... my doc is 5 minutes or less away from my work. With DS I had to fight traffic and construction all summer and I was always a stressed out mess when I got there. Then stressed out the rest of the week making up the time I was gone for the appointments. It was bad towards the end...
Had my dating ultrasound today! Baby measuring 7w3d (4 days earlier than I originally thought, but not surprised with my crazy cycles) with a HB 147!! I'm so relieved and happy. H and I both cried at the office.
First appointment today. My doctor is known for being the crunchiest in town, and he gave me a speech about how even though he's known for natural deliveries and VBACs, he wants me to feel empowered to ask for whatever type of delivery I want to have. And since my last delivery/recovery was extremely difficult, he would support me if I chose a C-section. I was shocked. In a way it makes me feel better to have him acknowledge that it was an abnormally traumatic experience. Like my feelings are validated, and also like the next one has to be easier. (Knock on wood) Anyway, my doctor is the best. His hair is a lot more gray than it was 2.5 years ago, and all I could think was I'm so glad I get to have him as my doctor for both my kids before he retires.
Then he did a quick US, said it looks a little smaller than 8wks, which I already knew so I scheduled a dating scan with the US tech in 2 weeks. He also gave me a shit load of PNV samples.

You guys. This day could not possibly go any slower. I'm one of two people in the whole building today, and I have zero work left to do. I'm literally just staring at the clock and wishing it to be 2:20 so I can go see our little babe.

JoBub I love your doctor! Can I go to him too! The traditional doctors are known for being pushy and making you do things their way but the crunchy doctors can be just as bad sometimes on pushing you the opposite way! VBACs are great if that's what you want but there's no reason you have to do it if you don't want to. He sounds like a keeper!
I had my initial intake appt today and it went well for the most part. The NP did say that the baby's heartbeat was a little low at my u/s last week (111 at 6wk2d), so I can get another u/s for peace of mind if I want. For some reason, I am sort of hesitant...partly bc of the cost, but also bc I want to just have a positive attitude and wait until my next appt when they can listen with the doppler. Is that crazy?
From pubs.rsna.org/doi/full/10.1148/radiol.2362040880 The heart rate was classified as slow if it was fewer than 90 beats per minute prior to 6.3 weeks gestation or fewer than 110 beats per minute at 6.3–7.0 weeks, normal if it was 100 or more beats per minute prior to 6.3 weeks or 120 or more beats per minute at 6.3–7.0 weeks, or borderline if it was 90–99 beats per minute prior to 6.3 weeks or 110–119 beats per minute at 6.3–7.0 weeks.
ETA: The heartbeat increases pretty rapidly at these early stages, so if even if you're one day off in your dates it could have a pretty big impact. If there's no other concerning signs, I don't see any reason to pay for another ultrasound unless you really want the reassurance.

I guess my post wasn't very clear. My first delivery was vaginal. So I wouldn't be having a VBAC. But my doctor is known around the city for VBACs so it was even more surprising than he would offer a C-section after a successful (though traumatic) vaginal delivery. It's like the opposite of what he does.

1st appointment went really well. Baby is measuring right on track and everything looked good. Except I've gained 6 lbs since the last time I weighed myself (eek!). Doctor said no SCHs this time and that I'm clear to exercise and everything. I'll go back in 10ish days for one last visit with the RE before she kicks me out. Time to start shopping around for a new OB!

Eep! Beautiful first picture of baby Akraus. 💞💞💞
This thread gives me all the good feels I can't wait to see my baby on Tuesday! I just want to see it is ok, and I'm curious if it's just one in there. lol
I called Friday, but my doctors office was closed for the holiday. So, instead of leaving a message I requested my appointment through my online patient portal. They're usually pretty quick at responding, quicker than a return phone call, although they may need to give me a call for this one. Either way, hopefully I'll hear back Monday morning. I'm going OOT to visit my parents De.c 7th, so I'd love an appointment before then, but I fully expect an appointment closer to 8 weeks. Either way, still feel like I'm getting my period, but I'm still pregnant.
