stcyct, could you bake your mom some healthier cookies or bars that are kind of a "treat" but ok for her stomach?
Otherwise, how about some cheap smaller flower bundles (you couldn't mail these, not sure how far they live from you, but could be dropped off on the porch?). Grocery stores around here normally have it where you can buy flowers in super small bunches/by the stem where you could put some together for not a lot of money.
A small Christmas ornament, maybe one that would remind them of your grandpa to keep on the tree?
Winter accessories, like some nice new gloves or a scarf?
Some "fancy" coffee or tea bags (might even be safe for your mom?)
I love that you're doing this for them, hopefully it makes their holidays a little cheerier!
Such a sweet and thoughtful idea stcyct! I would probably try to stick to stuff that can fit in a regular mail envelope to try to save money, like small jewelry, bookmarks with meaningful saying, small gift cards.
If either is in to tea/coffee/hot chocolate you could check out a shop and get like, a tea ball, fancy sweeteners, a bag of cinnamon sticks, those spoons with the chocolate hardened on, marshmallows.
