Monday after a holiday...yeah

So its Monday after a holiday and we are all on our way out by the end of this year if not the beginning of Jan.

I am sitting here trying to figure out what to do to make it go by faster haha. I remember my last pregnancy...if I told you the crap I did to try and get her to get a hint it was time to come the hell out..you guys would think I was crazy. I am right at that moment. I started my Primrose so hoping for a MP to release itself just for a glimmer of hope.

How is everyone else doing? How is life? Anything fun coming up or anything your dreading?

Counting down the days now. 19 days of work. I loved having 4 days off, but I really started to feel crappy yesterday. There's only so much to do at home and a trip to Buy Buy Baby just wore me out. Somehow I can manage my energy pretty well at work, but the weekends are just bleh. I am going to be so miserable if baby ends up being a week or even 2 late with pretty much nothing to do but be in the house. I really only have my feelings of being done with this all on the weekend too.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's just done. 2.5 days of work left just so I can really use my 9 weeks with Jane. My mom flies in Wednesday and we are off to the hospital that evening. DH is getting really excited and it's so great to watch. I'm having dizziness really bad after coffee so NO MORE COFFEE. I didn't figure it out until today, but I was in bed most of the weekend.

I'm debating putting my calendar on busy and taking a nap before the house cleaners get here to try to shake it. then I need to shower and do the dishes so that I can go to the DR and NST. How come that seems like soooo much work?!!

I decided to work from home today after the rough weekend and unexpected hospital visit. My next appointment is on Thursday, so I'll be curious to see what my doctor has to say about the dehydrations and after my first cervical check. We skipped it last week since my appointment was earlier than normal due to the holiday. When they did the ultrasound at the hospital to check my fluids, baby was head down, but to my left side, which she called an "unstable position." I can tell she's still flipping back and forth, because her back is in different places throughout the day. Just hoping she settles in soon, but I think this probably means she's not coming for a while...

Also, possible TMI question for you all... Are you turning on the light to pee at night? I'm not, because it makes it very difficult for me to fall back asleep. But then I wonder, what happens if I lose my mucous plug or have bloody show in the middle of the night, and I don't know becuase it's dark. Are those both a one-time thing? Or is it kind of gradual throughout several bathroom visits?

@kc295905, I am taking it Vaginally and orally. I take them at night RIGHT before bed..like before I am going to turn over and fall the hell asleep. They make my tummy wonky. If it gets to bad.. I will just go with good ol' all vaginal delivery. Pierce it with a needle put it in and go to sleep. Just make sure to wear a pad..that first pee break can be a lil messy.

crimpgirl, Well I am now getting all Christmas presents out of the way. I am hoping to have that done by this weekend. I will start decorating the house tonight with my monster..who will probably destroy all my work..but it is what it is.

lola, I wouldn't worry too much about not seeing your bloody show and/or MP. I mean they don't necessarily scream that things are about to happen just that things are coming to an end and it will happen. I NEVER turn on the lights for potty..hence me stumbling around half asleep side wiping my boob on the door frame...how the hell is that possible..don't know but I have done it. Some women never see the bloody show or the MP cause it doesn't come out till right before baby does. Don't stress yourself too much!! It can be a one time thing or it could be very gradual. Mine was a big mess of hell when it came and it was like after work. BUT it can be like lil pieces here and there.

Oh ladies, sounds like we're all rounding the corner and ready to get this show on the road! I know things will be tough with a newborn, but at this point I'd prefer it. I'm also tired of not knowing how/when labor will go.

DH and I had a long discussion last night about how he'll need to be the main caretaker of me, the dog, the house, etc when we first come home. He will do absolutely amazing, but I know it's going to be hard. I'm not sure if he's really prepared for much I'll need him (aka, how little I'll be able to do on my own aside from feeding the baby), but at least now I feel like he's more in the right mindset.

Ugh! I was having contractions every 10 mins for about 2 hrs Sat night and got my hopes up...and then I put DD1 to bed and they just stopped...I've had some randomly since then, a few that actually kind of hurt, but nothing in any sort of pattern that suggests anything is going to happen any time soon. She's moving all over the place with kicks, rolls, and punches still so I can't tell if she's moved back head down- sometimes I think yes and other times I'm not sure. I hope they do a cervical check tomorrow and can feel her head so I have some reassurance- the idea of waiting a whole week longer to find out is driving me nuts (next ultrasounds isn't till the 6th).

Although I don't want another scare, the hospital visit on Saturday was good for us because it motivated us to get everything finalized. We showed up without anything, and they started asking all of these questions about where all of our paperwork for the birth certificate was, what the birth plan was, etc. and we just looked at each other like what!? On Sunday we set up the Pack and Play in our bedroom, finished packing the hospital bags and got everything in order so now we're REALLY ready when the time comes. I felt like such an idiot, but it never occurred to me that we might actually be delivering that night. When she said, "If your fluid is low, we'll just deliver now" I wanted to pass out.

lola, they've not mentioned paperwork for birth certificates at any of my classes or appointments. What do you need to have for that? They just keep telling me to bring my regular id and that's it.

@cahistoryteacher, For us, it's just a simple 2-page form that asks for my information, baby's name, DOB, etc., whether or not the father will be included on the birth certificate, and if so, what his information is. It wouldn't take more than 5 minutes to fill out, so I can't imagine why they need us to do it before. Also, even though we've picked a name for the baby and everything, it felt like bad luck to write it all out, so I left that part blank for now. I think it goes along with another short form about requesting a SSN and card for baby that the hospital also files.

crimpgirl, Happy to hear you and baby are ok! Any bump to the bump is scary at this point.  And thanks for commiserating last night.  Today I feel down for some reason. These hormones are crazy.

Winnifred, We've talked sporadically about DH being in charge while I recuperate from the csection.  He's great but I do feel bad, like a burden on him.  Again, I'm sure it's the hormones.

Yep... what lola said. We didn't have to bring anything for the paperwork. It was all done the day after delivery.

Also, I don't think I ever lost my MP either time... and I only had bleeding right before G came, I didn't have that this time (nor did I puke like I did with G)

I was up late last night. And up off and on.  I keep telling DH things like "don't give DS too many gummies as bribes" or "make sure to put DS down at his regular bedtime" etc, while I'm at the hospital. Or last night I kept worrying about the sleeping arrangements.  DH said he'd sleep on the sofa until I heal but then I reminded him I may need him to help me off the bed or bring me baby during the night. I'm just worrying about everything that I can't control I guess.

I felt like I was getting sick last week too. Runny nose, tired...dh was feeling the same. Dr recommended I take Emergen C to avoid what was going around (she was under the weather too). And I've diligently taken it since Thanksgiving. I still have a runny/congested nose but nothing else. Dh has the same plus a cough. First time I try this type of stuff and now I'm a believer!

I'm definitely still in nesting mode, finishing up some things I want to get done before DS1 arrives. I put together a small dresser I got from Ikea, and it only resulted in one screwdriver puncture wound lol! The dresser looks nice, but it's unfinished wood, so I'm going to paint it and add some wood trim along the front of the drawers some other time. It'll at least serve its purpose for the time being.
After the girls wake up from their nap we're going to go to Disneyland for a little bit. I don't think I'll last very long, but I'm craving one of their caramel apples. It's nice to at least get the girls out of the house for a while too.

I have no idea what to make for dinner tonight. Anyone have any ideas for something easy? We did breakfast sandwiches last night.

My mom brought like 6 boxes of books over this weekend. We will not need to buy any books for this kiddo until she's ready for little chapter books(and I'm sure those boxes are at her house too). So many memories from some of these books. A lot are out of print and I'm so happy my sisters and I took good care of our books. She's bringing all my American Girl stuff next time she comes over. I can't wait to introduce baby girl to all these books!

Ahh- so need advice on what you would do! My grandparents (DDs great grandparents) sent us an expensive baby carrier from a popular big box store. It was scheduled to be delivered tomorrow - 11/29. On Saturday, we received it in the mail today, FedEx dropped off another box from the same retailer- and upon opening it, the very same baby carrier is in it again? What?! I checked with my grandparents and they were only charged once for it. Now- what would you do? Keep two? Contact the big box store and let them know their mistake? (Upon googling, this retailer usually asks people to go to the ups store and mail it back to them- how that would happen with a 22 month old and 2 week old...) return one to the store for store credit??

The packing slips were exactly the same. It truly appears that the order was somehow fulfilled twice on their end.

harfamilyof3 What a mess. I'm not sure what the best thing to do is for a bigger item. We actually got our shipment from BBB today, and they accidentally threw in a back-scrubbing brush. Since it couldn't cost more than $15, I'm just not going to worry about it.

harfamilyof3 I think it would depend on the big box store and how close it was to you. If you could get store credit and use it then that seems like the way to go, otherwise maybe gift it or donate?

How many times a day are you taking it? I'm taking it three times a day, twice orally and once vaginally. I'm open to hearing how others are doing it so I can amend my dosage if need be for better results.

I'm making spicy stir fry for dinner tomorrow night and fajitas the night after that. Let's get this show on the road!

This happened with us and a wagon we ordered from BRU last Christmas. Long stiry short, they never mailed the wagon after I originally ordered it, two weeks later I called and they sent not one but two. I gifted it to my sister and my niece since there was no way in hell I was dragging it to the post office and paying the obscene amount to fix their mistake. Not my problem bro. And my niece loves the wagon so no regrets.

IMO, regift it, donate it or return it for store credit. But don't worry about shipping it back if it involves going out of your way to do it. Neither you nor your grandparents made the mistake, so whatever.
