Do the other types of milks have the same benefits of cow's milk? I mean, I'm an adult, but I always start out thinking "hey that's not bad" about dairy substitutes. But then they always start to taste bad after awhile. Obviously I know what dairy is supposed to taste like, though!
My oldest refused WCM for a few months, and we had used up all my BM and stopped nursing. We just fed her lots of yogurts and cheese and kept offering. She eventually started drinking WCM. The pediatrician was fine with this and she was still growing and healthy. As long as she gets a well rounded diet don't worry to much over the milk it's self.
My D15 is slightly more interested in WCM, and as she starts to drink less BM from the bottle (she isn't really into it much these days) I just make sure she gets yogurt and cheese each day.
DoesItComeInPink I know you said you don't want to mix it because she did fine with it on its own. That's how I'm doing it so far. I do half formula half wm and plan to wean it down to just milk. Next week I'll do more milk eg 3 oz milk to 1 oz formula then after a week or so just milk. So far no issues. So I guess my rec is if you exhaust all other options try mixing it?
These kids! Why can't anything be easy? I would worry about the same things you are. I am not sure if she decides she doesn't like it or if it is upsetting her stomach. I think I like the idea of trying to mix in a bit with BM for a few days and see how that goes. Trust your instincts if you think it is a reaction or just dislike.
I totally expect it to be a problem for us. Practicing avoidance for now
What milk do you plan to try?
I am not sure. It looks like a lot of FPIES kids do well on hemp milk and pretty willingly drink. I am a bit terrified to try milk. I feel like anything that is going to be that much of her diet will be a disaster. I'm hoping to wait until we see the FPIES clinic (I have to call them back today to check on an appt- please please I hope they have put us on the list) to find out if they think she has enough other food to back off doing BM or formula. I've also read intriguing things about camel milk, but not sure if we want to try it.

FX they have you on the list!
End of January. The next clinic is Tuesday, so we are on the cancellation list (not hopeful for that date). Hopefully we can hold out til then! I was planning to keep pumping as usual until Christmas break anyway.
