I'm so tired. I've been up since three. DS woke up coughing, we did a breathing treatment and he fell back asleep. I of course couldn't get settled so I sat up watching crap on Netflix. At least I have a short day at work and get to leave early for my 37 week appointment!
I love watching my work countdown just tick down each day, 16 more workdays, I can make it! Today I have to run the ticket table at the school play. Our drama teacher is a nut job, he can never just do a normal play the way it's supposed to be. They are doing some Shakespeare play, but set in the 80s(which to middle schoolers just means neon). Glad I got the heads up, I will have to work on not cracking up during the play.

@mrswille I HOPE EVERYTHING GOES WELL...Many T&Ps
So I had my 36w appt today. Talk about kind of depressing. My freaking aloof ass OBGYN, she doesn't check cervix until 38w. I am starting to not like this practice more and more. CAN YOU JUST TELL ME IF WE ARE PROGRESSING!! She actually did a quick scan to see if he head down. Which in the past it was like a no no, but she just wheeled in the US machine and did it. So he is head down but doesn't mean he won't flip tomorrow. Also she brought up how are the iron pills...UM excuse me the what? I realized she failed to mention appts back that she wanted me to start on iron pills that I was kind of low. *side eye* I am praying she is not on call when I am due. IS THAT HORRIBLE!?!?
@cahistoryteacher, oh this should be fun...which play is it?
kaydee0402, ugh sick toddlers and sleep are so hard. I hope things work out in the end and glad you have an early day today.
W, I got the email about it being down...and I was like WHAT!?!!?!? NOOOOOOOOOO...why must the gods test my sanity.
And on today of all days TCF is down in the AM?! I cannot handle that! Glad we're back!
Dr. did a check today and I'm still only 20% effaced, same as 36 weeks
He did say that he has seen it plenty of times that someone in my situation will call back later that day in full on labor, so not to be too down in the dumps about feeling like I'll be pregnant forever. He also said they'd set up an induction around 1 week past my due date, which is fine by me if I make it that far. I'd be happy to never see beyond 41w0d.
And I also just found out that CW'ers are planning on making meals for us - YESSSSS!!!
I can't believe it's already December! I'm so ready to meet this kid! And also to not be swollen anymore and have my range of motion back in my wrists!
IVF+ICSI March 2016 (6R/5M/5F - 3 embryos on ice) 4/7/16: first ever BFP! EDD: 12/17/16 DS Arrived via C-Section 12/19/16! FET #1 June 2019 - 1 embryo didn't survive thaw & the one that did didn't stick around. BFN FET #2 September 2019 - last embryo didn't survive thaw.
WineNChocolate, BOO! I'm going to insist my midwife check my cervix today. Also, I hear you on not liking someone at the practice. The midwife who was on call when I had DS (she was a fill-in and the only one able to get to the hospital in the snow storm of course) was AWFUL. I made it very clear at my first appointment for this baby that she was not come anywhere near my vagina at any point during this pregnancy. So far so good!

kaydee0402, Umm next week I will ask her to check. I KNOW that its better not to, so that keep down risk of infection and what not. But can't you a least check like now and then at like 39w...would that be so difficult. I am praying she is not on call when I deliver..her bed side manor is about as good as a pissed off badger.
I had my 38 week apppointment yesterday - the dr. gave me the option of doing a cervical check, but said that unless I was having other symptoms (regular-ish, non BH contractions; bloody discharge; fluid leaking; etc.), she didn't think it would be very useful information. She said that, without the other signs of labor, I could be not dilated at all and go into labor later that afternoon, or be 3 cm and still be waiting for baby on his due date. So, she didn't check. I think they will next week if he is still not here.
She did say that most babies come between 38 and 40 weeks, so more likely than not he will be here within the next two weeks.
So funny, sheepish, I had my 38 week appointment today and we had the exact same conversation. She said since I wasn't displaying any signs of labor, a cervical check wouldn't tell us much and would be really uncomfortable. Pass, please! She doesn't seem to think it's happening anytime soon, becuase she gave me the go-ahead to travel 1.5 hours away for a concert on Dec. 9.
I got a surprise ultrasound today as a follow-up to our hospital visit on Saturday so she could check my fluids again, since they were on the "low side of normal." Thankfully they had increased from 7.5 to 11, so all is well. No pictures, since she was all squished in there, but thankfully she's head-down and ready to go whenever that may be.
@kc295905, Oh man, let's hope that's a sign that your body is going to make this happen ASAP!
sheepish, the 'most likely between 38 and 40 weeks' is both reassuring and terrifying for me, LOL
Since I've been feeling so good physically, I think there's something in the way our brains are wired to make us want labor to begin, even if we're scared. And even though I know full well that life after labor is going to be 1,000 times harder than things are right now - speeding this process along is all I can think about!
Not really sure if it's legit but there's something about knowing that 80% of babies come out by 40w6d and 97% by 41w6d is giving me some comfort that my body will do this on it's own.
Winnifred, I'm right there with you, hanging out between excited and freaking out a little.
I've also spent a fair amount of time on that site, and was looking earlier at this chart: spacefem.com/pregnant/charts/duedate1.php which shows the chance of baby arriving by a certain day. This data seems to show it being a little more likely within week 40 (but after due date), but still, not to long now! (Though it's crazy how much longer "within the next 3 weeks" seems compared to "within the next 2 weeks").
OKay, I'm off to walk the dog even though it is in the 30s and overcast. I wouldn't except a) he'll be better behaved tonight if he has a walk this afternoon (and he'll stop looking at me with sad puppy eyes now) and b) walking is supposed to help baby keep moving into position.
I get so stressed waiting to hear from people we know are working on getting those babies out... yet there's probably a decent chance I'll totally disappear from TCF while I'm laboring and in the hours/days after baby is born. Let's hope not, I'll probably be so excited to tell you guys you'll know before anyone else! Ha ha.
So I'm 70% effaced, 1 cm dilated and her head is "right there." I'm going to be doing a lot of walking and continue to drink red raspberry leaf tea and take EPO. Would love to have her Sunday so I don't have to work Monday lol.

Holy crap kaydee0402! I can't believe we are due the same day and you are so effaced! Thinking good thoughts for you getting a baby this weekend!
Winnifred, I 1000% agree with you. I can't stop checking in to see what's up with our ladies giving birth today, but you guys probably won't hear from me until after she is born. But to be fair no one IRL (except my parents probably) will know either while I'm laboring. We did that last time and it was nice not to have people constantly texting. Especially since I was in labor for two days!
Whoa kaydee0402! I hope you get your baby this weekend!
So I had an OB appt today and the little lady is still breech at nearly 37 weeks. Oy. I now have a C scheduled for Dec. 19th. I'm going to continue to do the spinning babies and yoga stuff (because it's free!) but I am throwing in the towel on the expensive chiro. My OB is not optimistic that she will flip since she has been breech the entire time. So I will be looking up more info on scheduled C births! Any C moms here with advice?
I also gained over 5 pounds in water weight in the past week. My legs look they belong to a different person. BP is still normal but OB is concerned about pre-E and I had to have about 7 vials of blood taken for testing today.
I think that all signs point to us being back home post-baby in time for the holidays, which is a silver lining, I guess!
