To the fvcker who "accidentally" stole our car seat from daycare,
After a long and stressful Friday at work I arrive at daycare excited to snuggle my baby. I look around at the car seat rack and don't see our car seat. I immediately call MH ready to yell at him for taking it with him only to find out that he doesn't have it. I go back to the car seat rack thinking that maybe I missed it. Nope, still not there. I walk into the infant room and pick up S and tell the DC teacher my car seat isn't out there, still thinking that it may just be somewhere else.
Front office person comes in and says that someone else took our seat instead of their own. At this point I am getting frustrated, how is that even possible? The front office person apologized profusely even though it's not her fault. She says she is going to call the person who took it and get them to come back and return it. She doesn't get ahold of them with the first 5 calls so she proceeds to call them every 5 minutes as well as calling all of their emergency contacts. 45 minutes later these mother Fers finally answer their Fing phone. Then they proceed to tell the front desk person that they refuse to come and give us our seat back claiming that they are too far out of town to do so. They suggest we use their car seat which they got second hand to take S home in. At this point I am livid, but I manage to control myself and not scream at the daycare workers.
I call H and he rushes out of work to go pick up L from after school care. I don't even want to look at these peoples car seat to try to use it but H urges me to. So, I look at these peoples car seat and it's not even the same brand as ours!!! The thing won't fit into our base at all because it's totally different! Then I find out that their baby is from the 6 month to 1 year room.
So now I am even more livid, I have been sitting at DC for over an hour contemplating how this could happen. We have toys on our car seat and it's easily identifiable as ours... their baby is much bigger than ours and wouldn't have easily fit into the straps where they were. Then this person took our car seat and somehow made it fit into a base that it doesn't even go to...
Then when they find out they have the wrong Fing car seat and that I have no way to take my baby home they refuse to bring me back MY car seat!?!?!?
What the fvck!
So, I have to leave S and go buy a new car seat!! H heads to DC with L in tow to be with S knowing that DC closes soon. I went to target and got the all in one Graco that was on sale (great deal) and had to install it in the parking lot of Target so I could take S home. I get off work at 3 but didn't get home until 7 because of this shit!
H has taken their car seat hostage and wants to write them a very angry note... I want to curse these people out! They left me with no way to take my baby home!! And they were so unapologetic and refused to bring me my car seat after what seems like willful ignorance in taking the wrong one that looks nothing like theirs!
Ugh, happy fvcking Friday to us.

So, I talked to the director and she is going to be speaking to the owner to see what they can do in regards to these people and this situation as it's never happened before. I told her that at the very least I expect for these people to pay for the car seat I had to buy that night. She is going to talk to the mother and call me back after that and talking to the owner.
The director said that the father (who picked the kid up on Friday) almost never picks the kid up. I said that's not really an excuse unless he never even looks at his kid or her car seat... she agreed.
So at this point I am waiting to hear back from the director.

I have talked to the director and the COO of the franchise now. The other parents are refusing to pay for the car seat we had to buy. The other mother obtained my email and sent me an email that was not through the DC channels. In the email she basically says Sorry, but we aren't really that sorry and then tries to push blame back in me for making such a big deal if this. They still have not returned our toys to us and are refusing to take responsibility and recognize that this is a serious issue that caused us a lot of stress. The other mothers suggestion that I just use their car seat that they bought used was not an option for me. I am still pretty livid with this situation.
Luckily the COO and director are totally on our side and they are going to reimburse us for the money we spent on Friday. The COO will be contacting the other parents and discussing the situation with them as well.
Overall I am still not super pleased with how this all went down and I really hope this family gets dismissed but I am not willing to stress over it anymore. I will be getting reimbursed and I will have to accept that and be done.
