DH fell off a ladder yesterday and possibly broke his tailbone. Still waiting to hear from the quick care radiologist on official results. He fell 8ft:(

Ugh michyme123 we got 7in yesterday, I hope it's not too bad of a storm by you! Good call on the stocking up. I have to grab milk from the store tonight because I didn't want to take DD out to the store yesterday in snow gear;)
Oh no mrsmonogrammed! Hope he's ok and the healing process isn't awful but ouch.
Yuck michyme123! The cold temps are rolling here now too and settling in at -20C or so but with lack of snow! Its so strange, especially after how much rain we had this summer and snow we had in October, we must have drained ourselves of precipitation for a bit.
My Monday is starting off great, I was running actually a little bit early today! I got everything done including time to do my hair carefully and it's looking FAB.
The weekend was good and we got our tree. The bummer was that DS turned the temp all the way up on the fridge without us knowing. We had to throw away a bunch of stuff that was just purchased, all the milk/yogurt/sour cream, etc. H was so pissed and having a hard time keeping his cool which ended up ruining the morning. But we pulled it together and the day rounded out just fine.
We had an AWESOME weekend at my mom's side family Christmas. So fun all staying in a hotel together and we did so much stuff together. There is 36 of us total and once again everyone made it.
Then after me praying for a week my kids wouldn't get the nasty stomach bug that's been going around town for Christmas (it's at the point where most the people with kids that I know has had it), I guess my prayers were answered because poor DS came down with it pretty hard last night. So he's chilling today and hopefully recovering. Fingers crossed for the rest of us yet.

Our whole family had it on Christmas last year. All 4 of us. It made for one of the worst Christmases ever, so I'm really hoping this year redeems itself. So sorry your dude caught it, but hope it's out of your house quickly!

Ouch mrsmonogrammed, poor guy! michyme123, It's cold and snowy here today too and my plan was also to stock up on groceries before today, but DD1 was sick all weekend. She's still sick, but we are hungry so I'm going to have to drag her to the store today.
2 more days until DH is home! This has felt like a really long shift, so I'm glad to have a bit of help again.
michyme123veggiemo you guys are right about that, I was expecting it to hit us one way or another and if it must this is the "best" week in December to deal with it. Blech.
budders I just saw last night your H has HFM now too, that sounds awful and hope he's feeling better soon.
ETA sugarkissed hopefully A is feeling better soon too!

Oh no!
Monday, I'm ready for you! Both the boys have colds so lots of crying and whining, I'm thankful for the break while at work. I've got a nice mug of tea and my only plans for this evening is to wrap more presents and address Christmas cards.
tiffbot LT for the awesome weekend, not the sick kids. Hopefully they start feeling better soon!
Yikes mrsmonogrammed, hopefully your H has a quick recovery.
Lots of errands today with L. Shopping with a newborn is a cakewalk compared to a toddler! E is at DC and H went back to work today so I'm flying solo tonight.
So sorry for all the sick/injured kid's and husbands!
We had some snow last night, but it's already almost gone. While it lasted, it really put me in the Christmas spirit though! H wound up working from home again today, and so I'm about to go meet him for some Thai food, so all in all, so far my Monday is a win.
Did the gap SERIOUSLY discontinue long and lean jeans? I just logged on to buy some because I have gap cash and what not and there is only one pair in size 00 or some crap. Do they not know that I am a short, big girl and there is exactly one style of jeans that has ever fit me correctly? I was sad enough when they changed the composition of them and made them cheaper so they didn't last as long, and now they apparently are just not going to make them at all. Boo. Sorry if someone has already mentioned this and I missed it, but BOO! Maybe one of these other "new" styles is the same just renamed? Does anyone have any idea?
There is a big sale going on again today, so it might just be a case of them having a limited quantity for you to buy on sale. I suspect when the prices go back up they will reappear.

We are currently in the "just enough snow to be pretty" club, and it'll probably melt by this evening, just in time for the forecasted 20F weather to freeze it to the roads.
I got our wreath up last night, and the tree is chilling (literally) outside until DH gets a chance to help me put it up.
T has been having some epic screaming fits about really critical things like me closing the window (because who cares if the house is cold when he wants to touch the screen) and not letting him play with candles (I'm a buzzkill, obv).
Morning ladies. I am officially at that point in the year where there are zero fucks left for me to give about my job. It really doesn't help that I am also 33+ weeks pregnant. So, I plan on spending several hours today planning out what freezer meals I want to make and putting the shopping list for that together and what type of holiday baking I'd like to do, and putting a shopping list for that together.
I usually do a massive baking session for the holidays. 5-6 different types of cookies which equals 100's of cookies and 3 types of fudge, banana breads, etc. But I'm cutting way back this year. 2-3 types of cookies and fudge. I believe that's it.
Also, I got an instant pot on Cyber Monday. I used it for the first time this weekend. I love that thing.
You guys, I just ordered my groceries online, drove to the store and waited for them to bring them to the car. My life has changed forever.
I'm sure this is an UO, but this sounds terrible to me. I like being the one to pick out my meat and produce. Also, if I'm ordering everything online, how do I impulse buy holiday Oreos?
Does anyone have a learning tower for their kiddos? Or are you planning on getting one? C screams every night for me to pick her up and hold her while I am cooking dinner. She wants to see what I am doing and be a part of it. But, I can't pick her up while I am chopping or dealing with boiling water or opening and closing the oven door. I am getting real tired of the nightly melt down tantrums due to me having to put her down. I figure, one of these can get her up to where she can see, but safely contained and out of harms way. I am just having a hard time with the price. Seems like a TON of money for a glorified step stool. I asked DH if he would make her one and he told me to just buy one. I am still having a difficult time with pulling the trigger.
Does anyone have one? Does your LO like it? Did it help solve any issues like this?
carrots, that's why DH says just buy it. He says that the time and material it will take to make one that I'll be happy with having in our kitchen every day is not worth it. He says just buy one. I think I'm going to pull the trigger and do it. But I'd love to see pictures of yours!

My nanny kid has one and both boys are obsessed. His dad made it for him. I can take a picture of it.

if you have more than one kid to corral in a store online groceries are a game changer, lol.
I will admit my view probably is colored by the fact that I've only been taking DS with me like, every other week lately, and leaving him home with H on a Saturday or Sunday the other weeks. Solo grocery shopping is the best. Second only to solo Target shopping.

mrsdee1982 I just saw one on instagram this weekend that someone made using a regular wooden step stool! It's a lot smaller than others I've seen but it looked like it would probably be cheaper and space efficient! I'll see if I can dig up a pic...
mrsdee1982, DS is like that. On nights where H is running late and isn't home to help corral him while I'm cooking, I've been pulling one of our arm chairs up to our kitchen island, giving him something to "help," (like a plastic mixing bowl, a spatula and/or whisk, and some plastic balls or something in the bowl), and he's been really happy with that. It's probably not as safe as the learning towers, but free, and I also make sure I'm staying super vigilant, and take him down right away if he starts getting bored.
