Hello all! I am having a hard time keeping up these days, baby girl doesn't let me have much screen time and I have been working on other things at night and can't log on. Nice to catch up tonight on a few threads!
I am looking for a good, warm, larger sized sleep sack. We live in NorCal and it gets quite cool at night. We have no heat in our house which never bothered us before baby but now I worry that she needs the warmth! We have space heaters but they worry me and we have a gas fireplace that gets toasty but is at the opposite end of the 900 sq foot house from her room so the heat doesn't quite reach.
Anyway she has been sleeping in a onsie, fleece footie pjs, a thin Aden/Anias sleep sack and then we put a couple quilts over her. With her sudden need to sleep on her tummy the quilts have been wrapping under her and keeping her from rolling over and back and waking her from what would be a peaceful slumber
Anyone use a Grobag or something similar? I don't want to shell out cash for something that I'm going to hate. I would like to put her in cotton pjs and a warm sleep sack/sleeping bag and ditch the quilts.

We use the Halo sleepsacks for DD (she's in the 6-12 mo size). She's able to move and roll in them, and they seem to keep her warm enough with a footed sleeper under them.
We also use Halo fleece sleep sacks. I still squeeze DD into the 6 month size. And on nights when it's really cold (9* tonight), we do fleece pj's and socks.
I LOVE MY GROBAG! Her room is over the garage so it loses heat super easily. She's currently in the 6-12 month one. But I intend to buy a bigger one once she outgrows this one. On cold night I find in a fleece sleeper and her grobag she sleeps like a dream!

We have Halo fleece sleepsacks. I've had my eye on some wool sleepsacks from Merino Kids USA and Woolino but I can't bring myself to spend the money on those.
It's -30 here today, although we have a furnace but with my two kidos, I have used the think aden and anais (my favorite), fleece halo and grobag. Grobag was my least favorite because of the side zip up. Front closure is easier for us. The fleece halos are great but thinner then the aden and anais I have so my May baby uses that. My DD used the fleece halo when she was a bit older (12 month +) and it worked great. She used them until she was 2 1/2 and had the one that she could stick her feet out if she wanted. It also kept her in her crib and bed and she never got out of bed at night. We had moved her to a big girl bed at 18 months and with the sleep sack she stayed in bed and never even tried to get out. Im sure its because she was contained in the sleep sack!

wow, i didn't know so many were still using sleep sacks.
I wrap a blanket around the mattress so she's sleeping on on top of it and it doesn't move (rather than directly the colder sheets). Then she sleeps in a long sleeve onesie with fleece footed pajamas.
We have been using a heated oil space heater in her room, on medium heat, low output, and that does the trick for her.

Thanks everyone! Like knowing there are so many options!
flockofmoosen many of my friends toddlers still use the sleep sacks. I think they just get used to it and love it. I also think it helps stop some of them from crawling out of the crib

I mainly lurk. I introduced myself on TB before everything went down with the intention of becoming more involved and I've finally made it here.....We love the Babydeedee sleep nest sleep sack. It's quilted, very soft and heavy enough to keep DS warm with a cotton PJ underneath. Its exterior and lining are cotton. I highly recommend this. I have tried Halo and other brands and I like this the best.
Halo here too. I'm contemplating getting some with the separated feet at the bottom since he likes to pull up in the crib more, but it sounds like it isn't really necessary.

This is us minus the heater. Ds HATES sleep sacks. Doesn't like having his legs contained.
We also currently use the fleece Halo sleep sack. I love them! My sister also used them with her two kids. I just ordered a cotton one for the summer off Zulily. We used the cotton one last summer and it worked well. LO rolls on to her tummy and will sit up all with a sleep sack on. We stopped the footsie pjs a few weeks ago. She kicks so much and so violently that she'd kick out of the snaps or into one leg of the zippered. The sleep sack keeps her toes nice and warm with no socks or anything just 2 piece pjs.
We use the Summer Infant Comfort Me blanket. He seems to like it, but it is thin. The best part is it zips from the bottom to make diaper changes easy.
