So, I love baking cakes, cupcakes, cheesecakes, pies, brownies, and most other dessert things. Cookies and I just aren't friendly. I've got a great sugar cookie recipe and can make chocolate chip cookies. Otherwise, I'm kind of meh at cookies. I tried a new recipe last year that we threw away. They were terrible. Awful. Worst cookies I've ever had. I cried because they were so bad and had involved so much effort.

Growing up we made sugar cookies, chocolate cracks, peanut butter kisses and stained glass windows. You have a sugar cookie recipe, and I'm pretty sure the peanut butter kisses recipe is on every peanut butter website.
I think the chocolate cracks are Maida Heatter, I'll check my book in a second, but here's the stained glass window. It's easy enough I know it by heart.
1 stick butter 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 bag colored mini marshmallows
1. Combine the butter and chocolate and melt (either in double boiler or microwave)
2. Stir in vanilla and let cool for 5-10 minutes until the chocolate is room temp.
3. Fold in the marshmallows, stirring to completely coat the marshmallows.
4. Place the chocolate mixture in a log shape on a piece of wax paper. Roll up the wax paper, twisting the ends to seal. Refrigerate for 2 hours, then cut into slices.

I was right, Maida Heatter. Although apparently the real name is Chocolate Street Cookies, not cracks. Rather than type out the recipe, I found a link to them.
I love cookies! Some of my favorites are salted caramel chunk, chocolate chip m&m, firecracker cookies, & potato chip cookies (which I would need to take a pic of the recipe if anyone is interested).
Mmmmmmm, cookies. We're supposed to do our annual Christmas cookie baking on Sunday with H's family as long as it we don't get the snow they're predicting, so I was just looking for some new recipes last night! So the only really tried and true recipe I have access to at the moment is this one: aseasyasapplepie.com/coconut-key-lime-crinkle-cookies/
They were a huge hit last year, everyone said they were a really nice mix-up to our usual assortment of peanut butter blossoms, chocolate chip, shortbread, and chocolate crinkle cookies.
I've shared my easy as pie, never fail fudge recipe with ya'll before but ya'll were too scared to try it. But I will look past that and share this recipe
These chocolate crinkle snowball cookies are SO good and easy to make!
2 cups (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips, divided 2 tablespoons butter, softened 1 cup sugar 2 egg whites 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 cup water 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
In a microwave, melt 1 cup chocolate chips. Stir until smooth; set aside. In a small bowl, beat butter and sugar until crumbly, about 2 minutes. Add egg whites and vanilla; beat well. Stir in melted chocolate.
Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; gradually add to butter mixture alternately with water. Stir in remaining chocolate chips. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours or until easy to handle.
Shape dough into 1-in. balls. Roll in confectioners' sugar. Place 2 in. apart on baking sheets coated with cooking spray. Bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes or until set. Remove to wire racks to cool.
I always do chocolate snicker doodles... already made 1 triple batch, probably going to do another triple batch this weekend. DH also loves those Hershey kiss peanut butter ones.
mrsdee1982 those sound great! We are doing a progressive dinner and I have desserts, I am doing truffles, cherry cheesecake dip, puppy chow and I needed a cookie so these are perfect!
