We've got about 15 minutes until we need to leave for J's 18mo appointment. I scheduled it in September, way before taking this job, so it's going to cut it awfully close to get to work on time.
Not sure if we are dealing with night terrors or eye teeth (or both?) But he has woken up screaming every night for the past week, so that's fun.
DS is at school and had a good drop off. The negative is his behavior at home has been atrocious lately. It sucks because I'm at work all day and then I come home and spend 5ish hours with him and 90% of it is terrible. Even reading time has gone downhill. He's never been great at sitting still for books but lately it's just been awful and I can't even get through one sentence before I'm interrupted by him for various reasons. I'm not sure what the deal is, maybe the excitement of Christmas has him thrown. But it's been rough and some nights I seriously feel like putting him on the front porch and locking the door behind him. (I don't, obviously).

I bought DD the beginner wooden shape matching from M & D. It's kind of a step up from puzzles- I think she'll love it.
She's currently passed out in my arms since she decided 4:30am was a good wake up time. I seem to have the stomach bug that's going around here so that was pretty much the worst.
At least I don't have to solo parent all day though. I think my H has seen DD maaaaybe 2 hours in the past 3 days. In total. I need a break.

Also placing a m&d order! I have a meeting later today to go over my annual review and find out how much of a raise I get this year. (Based on performance and score on annual review).

I got a call last night on my way home that the judge in one of my cases ordered us to investigate why the other side is claiming 200,000 documents won't open.

I have been having a lot of these days also. E seems to go through good and bad phases and lately it has not been so great. I think you are right that the excitement of the holidays and probably all of the change in weather and scenery (holiday decor, etc) is to blame. I hope he gets over the hump soon and you can start enjoying your time with him again.
Thank you, and the same back to you regarding E. Ugh, it's tough. And then the weird thing is right now I'm missing him while he's at school, because I feel so bad for the shitty night we had. He's always in such a good mood right when I pick him up and then it just fades after we get home and get settled. My mom says it's because they've used up all their energy being good at school and save the crap for us.
We're supposed to get actual snow on Sunday, and I'm debating whether it's worth it to Amazon Prime a more expensive pair of snow pants or express ship some Old Navy snow pants for DS. He has a pair of the overall style, but naturally, they're at day care (which he won't go to again until Monday), and I wanted to buy a non-overall pair for home anyway, since he HATED the overall pair when we tried them on at home. Or seeing if I can just find some in a store when I go out shopping tomorrow. Or saying fuck it, just double-up on regular pants and change him when he comes back in from what will probably be only like, 10 minutes outside, if it does actually even snow.

Soooooooooo that's my day.
Ugh. Maybe they just don't know how to use a computer. Boo.

I know you live in an area with more consistent snowfall that I do but I am not planning on getting O snow pants this year. I'll throw a couple pair of pants on him and he'll be okay. He has a heavy coat. And chances are we won't be out for too long.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards let's just go with whatever is at home for this weekend, and then decide if I should buy him snow pants. I LOVED playing in the snow as a kid - sledding, building snowmen, etc., so I'm really hoping he loves it and gives me a reason to buy that second pair for home
H calls me every day when he's on his way home from work. Today's conversation:
Me - Hi, how are you H - Fucking snooooow. I'm never getting home. Every road is closed. Fuck this. Fuck that. I hate everything. Me - So.... spaghetti or shrimp for dinner? H - Ahhhhh, I'm never going to be able to drive. Why are people going so slow? Ok, now I can actually move. Fuck! Now I'm sliding. Me - So, I'll see you at home H - But at least you got your snow!
So, apparently it's my fault that we live in a northern state, where it snows in the winter, and I don't hate seasonally appropriate snow. It does suck that it makes his commute a giant pain, but seriously, it happens every year. It's not my fault, don't blame me.

Am I the only one who is thinking what's wrong with old navy snow pants? I feel like they offer good quality for the price.

SITB
I'm really glad actually you say you lie the ON snow pants. We have a lot of clothes from there (both DS and I), and I really like them. I'm just debating if it's worth it to pay higher shipping to get the pants here in time for the forecasted snow we have coming. They had the non-overall style that I wanted to try for him, but the only Old Navy around here is a pain in the ass to park at, so I normally just buy everything online from them.
International ladies/ traveling ladies, question....
We got invited to a wedding in London next summer. The kids will be 2 and 4 and I feel confident in traveling internationally with them at that age. Besides the 3 days in London for the wedding we want to tack on another 3 days somewhere, but where?
There are just too many places I want to go! We want to stay in Europe and Paris is off limits because thats where we will go for our 10 yr wedding anniversary Any suggestions? Anywhere to avoid with little ones?
I called MIL to come over and help. She gladly came. I'm now folding laundry/ slowly putting away our fall decor and grabbing little Christmas stuff as I go along.
I put up the tree last night, but when I plugged it in the lights didn't turn on. Worth it to go through the bulbs or toss it?
Check to see if it's a fuse that blew in the plug? None of the trees I've bought in the last 8-10 years used lights that when one bulb blew the whole strand blew. I know there's a technical name for that type but no clue what it is.
@badwolf321, how old is the tree? If you've gotten decent use of it, I would probably cut my losses. Or at least buy a new one at the end of the season for next year, and just deal with the unlit tree this year. Especially for you, I'm pretty sure having a toddler and a newborn gives you a pass on going all out for Christmas!
