We're taking R to get his picture taken with Santa tomorrow. Of course I've decided I want something nicer for him to wear so we're about to head to Target.
OMG so excited for baby laughs! Nothing is better!!
What's everyone doing for xmas gifts for the baby? I'm thinking I need to get one or two gifts for her so that her older sister isn't concerned about Santa forgetting the baby lol.
What's up guys? Just getting ready for Christmas around here. My oldest has a play date tonight and tomorrow we're taking the boys to see Santa.
R is starting to let us get some sleep Last night he slept 10-3am. Quick diaper change/feeding and he was back down from 3:30 to 6:30. Enjoying this good sleeping streak while I can lol.
When are peeps starting solids? Our pediatrician says you can start anywhere from 4-6 months. I think with my oldest we started purees around 5 months. Also do you plan on making your own food or store bought? I generally just buy gerber baby food but I might try making some of my own with our blender and freezing it in ice cube trays. We'll see how much motivation I have. The lazy side usually wins out.
singingsea I might try more baby led weaning this time, starting with food she can pick up. But last time I did not make my own food. The few times I tried C didn't like it.

Honestly nothing. He really doesn't need anything and I know the grandma's and other relatives have already bought presents for him.
We don't have an older sibling to worry about wondering why R didn't get anything from Santa though.
LadyNymeria I've never done Santa pictures. Mom fail. I want to, but lines.
cbowl I got her one present, the wooden toy you hammer pegs through. Won't use it for a while but I'm sure her sister will play with it until she can.
The people who did his newborn pictures hire an amazing Santa and turn it into a fun gathering. My BFF is taking her kids and I'll take R. Long line but should be fun going together.

Haven't really thought about it but we'll probably do pureed foods around 6 months. Planning to skip baby cereal for now.
This answer may change depending on how pumping and breastfeeding go once In back at work.
I just said today how we hadn't taken the boys to see Santa yet. The past two years I made an ornament out of the Santa picture so I need to get on that. I've had good luck with the mall Santa near me and not having to wait in a long line.
We took a family trip to the grocery store this morning. Winter makes me so lazy. I'm glad I told DD1 I was going to take her to a Luau party at the library this afternoon it I might have gotten lazy and backed out.

Ahhh! I definitely need to do Santa gifts for baby for this same reason, but it seems like such a waste to buy stuff for a 2 month old, especially when we have all the baby toys from the older siblings!

Probably some purees around 5 months. I want to do baby led weaning but daycare prefers purees so we will do some combo. Probably purchased as well since I barely have enough time to get us all dinner at this point!

We bought E a new sleep sack and teething toys. I figure tethers can get gross over time and she will certainly make use of them.

Didn't think about daycare. I bet they'll prefer purees too.

Double nap rainbow today! E has put herself on somewhat of a regular schedule with naps at 8:30, 11, 1:30, & 4 so if we can link up the toddlers nap at 1:30ish, we can now get a semi predictable 45 minutes of downtime on the weekend (at least until she learns to lengthen naps or moves to 3 naps and everything gets crazy again).. This past week E has gotten so much easier and more predictable. We were fighting sleep with some screaming matches but DH realized we are actually overstimulating her by trying to make her go to sleep (bouncing, rocking, nursing, etc) and she will somewhat happily go to sleep if we put her in her crib and let her fuss for a couple minutes. I'm not looking forward to going back to work anymore since I'm finally enjoying my time with E and not constantly anxious about figuring out how to do everything... 😢

jennybeans - Sorry things are getting better right as it's getting closer to going back to work. I'm the opposite - getting worried about going back and leaving him with my mom and MIL when we have no schedule yet. They'll be fine and can handle it, I just feel a bit guilty.
