B must know I'm going back to work. He woke up screaming 45 minutes after he went to bed. I had my hands full of raw chicken, and by the time I cleaned myself up and went upstairs he was settling down. So I gave him a few more minutes and he put himself to sleep. FX this is a good sign.
M has already been up 3 times since I put her down at 7:00. Last night was literally the worst night since we brought her home and tonight is not shaping up to be any better. If this keeps up I may have no other choice but to take her in bed with me

Could be teething? I'd try some Tylenol if the unexplained, frequent wakeups continue.
Holy shit you guys. I'm not even going to say how many hours he slept because that's like rule number one of when your babies finally sleeps. But it's 5:45 here and he's only been up once. Next time he gets up he needs to be up for the day.
The crazy thing is- he was a terrible nurser yesterday. Only took one side for less than 5 minutes. All. Day. Didn't seem to matter.
Anyway. I'm getting ready for my first day of work. Thanks for all the well wishes!
So G just turned 4 months on the 3rd. He got his vaccinations on the 7th and has been awful ever since. I think we've gone from feeling crappy from the vaccines, to teething and now maybe a growth spurt or leap and/or quite possibly the 4 month sleep regression all at once. Someone save me. He's usually such a happy baby and it's been awful lately. We have been using the MM sleepsuit since about two months and it was amazing. I know a lot of you have used it as well. What did you do after the magic seemed to wear off? Basically he has reverted back to his newborn sleep and will NOT sleep anywhere but next to me or in my arms. Should I just keep using it like we have been until he gets back on track? Anyone try the next size up?
I'm going to cry, I'm so sick of this. I've gotten hardly any sleep, Sam's up for the 5th time and the last two times I put him back down he laid there for half an hour kicking his legs so I couldn't sleep, and my alarm goes off in an hour for work.

Teething is definitely part of it. She had one tooth pop through last weekend and the second lower incisor has popped on one corer but not the rest. I had given her Tylenol at bedtime but it didn't seem to help much. She finally went down for at least a few 3 hour stretches which was way better than Saturday night but still leaves one tired momma today.

Minus the vaccines part, but this is exactly what I think we've got going on with my little one. {hugs}, labor buddy!!

Sorry for the crappy sleep!! We went through a vaccine/leap/regression around that time too, where no matter what time it was for a wake up, he wanted to stay awake. I just kept KOKO and sized up the MM suit which helped IMO. We are back to one wake up and he will go back to sleep now, thank the lawd.
Thanks madamewaffles and ginabini! I try to remind myself everything is a phase. It's not easy to do though with a tiny person screaming into your face for hours a day.
Congrats melody330 ! I've learned you don't ask questions... just say thank you lol. Good luck today!!
And hugs, mcktymck . I'm right there with you. Trying to remember that as awful as it is right now, it's only temporary. We WILL get through this!
I'm trying to remember that. It's just so hard when we've been dealing with crappy sleep basically ever since he was born with the exception of 3 weeks, and now over the past few weeks it just seems to get worse and worse Sam's still sleeping in our room at night but I think it's time to move him to his... I wanted to wait until 6 months but lately he thrashes all around in his sleep so it keeps me up because it's loud. Ugh, babies.
mcktymck, I here you, momma. It is so hard. We moved M to her own room a little over a month ago, not really wanting to. I had a massive cold and kept waking her up every time I sniffled so we kepts her in her rock n play but in her room. It was definitely super hard at first, but then I got used to not having her in our room so it just made sense to make the transition to the crib permanently. You have to do what's best for you though! You've got awesome mommy instincts and are doing an awesome job. One day at a time!

Sorry you're hitting a rough patch. This past month has been awful for sleep. We have been in the MM suit for about 2.5 months, and it used to be a miracle. Now not so much. My plan is to keep using it but go cold turkey when we sleep train in a few weeks. He can't use it forever so I'd rather get rid of it sooner rather than later. Then we will use a sleep sack. It's going to be rough!
I'm done with this intensive rocking/patting/shushing/bouncing routine when she wakes up screaming and inconsolable 3x per evening. It's like she's a freaking newborn. I'm holding her and just letting her scream her head off. CIO in my arms. I'm not ready to go full Ferber but this seems like a reasonable step 1? Or am I making this worse?

I'm sorry you're having such a rough time. I totally get it. B gets up 3-4x/night and I have no regrets about putting him in his own room. He's a loud, restless sleeper. I turn the monitor down low so I only hear him if he's crying. I get so much more sleep!
If you move him to his own room and you're not happy....you can always put him back! It's okay to change things, or go back to things you use to do!
Thanks ladies, I appreciate it We decided to bite the bullet and Sam is currently asleep in his crib. We came up with a game plan where if it hasn't been 2+ hours since the last feeding, H will go in and attempt to get him back to sleep. Anything after 2 hours I'll nurse. I'm hoping it goes smoothly!
Hugs melody330, mcktymck, prvc678, katelou, and anyone else I missed that had rough nights. I was right there with you, just trying to avoid screen time to fall asleep easier. Must have helped as I passed out nursing in the rocking chair twice.. oops. Alllll the coffee today.
Yep another less than stellar night here. Up twice but woke up as soon as I put him in his crib so my H had to rock him too making both wakeups take forever. Add on the 3 year old also having a bad night and my H snoring so it was rough all around. Then E was up at 6. He barely napped yesterday so I thought things would go better. My mom asked how often he wakes up. When I said 2 times is a good night, she commented that is too many for a baby his age. Gee thanks. Believe me - I'm not really loving life at night.
Well, last night didn't go as I hoped (Sam magically sleeping through the night again) but it was better than the past couple nights so I'll take it. Instead of waking up every 1-1.5 hours he was up a little after 2 hours each time for a total of 3 wake ups instead of 5. He didn't fight us at all though at any point last night and didn't wake up half an hour after a feeding like he was doing pretty frequently, so I'm calling it progress!
