It's cold and rainy here. Typical Seattle weather. There is the threat of snow this week, meh.
Weekend was surprisingly good. We got most errands and chores done on Saturday. Did the jingle bell run stuff and then stayed around the house the rest of the day on Sunday. We still don't have all of the Christmas decor up, just the tree. I'm seriously considering leaving it that way.
Ds didn't nap yesterday so he went to bed early and then dd fell asleep in her swing during his bedtime routine so we left her there and had a date night in. We made nachos, watched a stupid reality tv show we both like and reconnected.... in all the ways. It was a good time all around, fantastic really, and so very needed.
I had a pretty good weekend. Went out with friends for dinner and drinks on Friday for a friend's birthday and got tipsy. Worked all day Saturday and was very tired, but once I got home and walked through the door Peyton was there with my dad and was playing. She looked over and when she saw it was me she was just excitedly dancing in place and stuttering "Mamama" over and over.
It was a great reaction! I missed her so much and so that night and Sunday we just relaxed and snuggled watching movies and played with toys. We made some Christmas crack in the afternoon and she enjoyed that.
It was nice to enjoy spending the time with her again and not be frustrated and she kept laying on me and saying "I missed you Mommy". So she does think fondly of me

I weirdly feel better knowing that I'm not the only one dealing with a stomach bug. DS was up last Tuesday night from about 10:30-3 throwing up every ~20 mins. Then I got it by Friday and I came into work because it was the last day of classes but ended up having to go home and just send a grad student with my course evals for the afternoon classes because I literally could not handle even standing up in front of the class. I slept ~15 hours after getting home and then have been just slightly off all weekend.
Oh, and I have a mountain of grading to do and final grades are due on Dec. 21. So this week is going to suck.
Susan0utLoud - We have our tree and a few random things on the mantle up, and I think I'm leaving it that way. I'm just not feeling it this year.
I give you both permission to leave it! I haven't done as much as I'd like to, but the reality is life is full right now and that stuff isn't a priority. It won't be like this forever, but right now we need to be ok with doing what we can and letting the rest go.

Good weekend. We got our tree Friday night then decorated it Sat. morning. Sat night my mom took J over night. We slept in a bit, went over my in laws to wrap all the presents hiding in their garage then out to an adult lunch. Afterwards we went shopping for the rest of DD's Christmas stuff then went to.my parents for dinner. Today I meet a friend a her daughter to take our girls downtown Philly for light show, lunch and Christmas village at city hall.

Oh and it was really cold here over the weekend but dry, this morning we got a bunch of rain and the temps rose 20 degrees to 50. Supposed to drop again tonight and be freezing again all week. This secretly makes me happy because last year we had a weird 70 degree Christmas and I hated it, screwed with my holiday spirit
My Monday sucked. After being in hospital three times last week I was there again today for a routine scan. Big baby, too much amniotic fluid (which explains lack of movement at least which was a relief), but now I'm booked in for GD test on Thursday. Got home from that appointment and sat in peace for all of five minutes when hospital called to say they forgot to do the CT trace on the baby for heartbeat and movement so could I go back in!!
I had organised a Brownies Carol Service for the elderly people in the village in conjunction with the local nursery. So - I had to collect 12 excited girls from school (during class time so they were hyper!) walk to the hall, corale them into laying out chairs for me, setting up teas, coffees milk (for the toddlers) and biscuits and dishing out home made gifts to the old dears after the singing. Then I had to get the Brownies to tidy and wash the dishes before taking them back to school.
I swear to god the 3-5 year olds from the nursery were better behaved than the Brownies.
So by the time I got back to hospital I was exhausted and fell asleep during the trace. The midwife came to check the print out and said "oh you haven't felt the baby move at all!" I lied and said, "oh no it's fine I just don't think the button was working but I was pressing it!"....she doesn't need to know I was half unconscious on the bed.

Well then, that's decided! Gavel!
I was going to post an UO that I just DGAF about Christmas decorating this year, but forgot. We have the tree up and stockings and a handful of other easy stuff and that is more than enough for me.
