I used to get infrequent reflux before getting pregnant. The last three months or so of pregnancy were awful reflux wise. I was sleeping practically sitting to keep the reflux down, would sometimes wake up with vomit in my mouth from the reflux, and at the end, was taking both Prilosec & Zantac. It subsided completely after LO was born, but recently I've been getting reflux a few times a week again. I'm thinking of just taking Prilosec daily to control it.
Is prilosec ok to take daily or just for a short term?
Prilosec is short term. The box tells you how long you can take it and how much you have to wait before you start up again. However, you can get it by prescription and I'm not sure the same applies to the script version (I was prescribed while pregnant); just ask your doc. I found the Prilosec much more effective than Zantac.
