Halp. My skin is super dry. It's red, blotchy, peeling in spots, and burns when I put almost anything on it. Makeup is making it so much worse. I've been slathering it with a variety of products with little luck.
I go light on makeup anyhow and even switched to bb cream to help. It's a little better. I am using an ultra hydrating night cream and putting a moisturizing gel-cream on under my makeup. I also drink a decent amount of water daily. We have an in home humidifier but maybe I should add an additional one to our bedroom?
I'm willing to drop a little bit of money on this because it's my face. I've been contemplating going to Ulta over break to get their help. But, if I can get help here it'd save me a trip. Anything?

I use Josie Moran Argon oil on my face every day. I like the light version but they have a heavier duty option too. Even though it's oil, it soaks in really well and it's not greasy at all. In general I have normal skin with the regular t zone oil. If you want to try it without investing $60, sephora sells it in a trial size. I buy that and use it for months at a time because you only need 3-4 drops.

I have terrible Psoriasis that covers about 75-80% of my body. For everyday use, I use Cerave moisturizer. I also use their cleanser in the shower followed by coconut oil(in the shower). In the winter or during bad flare ups I use Aquaphor. It helps so much and does a great job protecting from the wind and cold. I hope you find something that works! Dry, itchy, painful skins is awful!

Drink more water.
No, but really when my face gets really dry I try washing it less and use a super gentle moisturizer like Aveeno ultra calming. Before bed I put rosebud salve on the irritated areas.
