I know we've had some other teething posts, but I have a question. Does anyone/has anyone used an amber teething necklace for their LO? H was never really bothered by teething but M is so crabby. He is getting 2, maybe 3 teeth right now and I really would try anything to get him some relief. He is miserable. He won't nurse but takes a cold bottle.
Also, how often is Tylenol ok? I mean, I know what the bottle says, but how often are you comfortable giving it? He can't have ibuprofen, so we can't alternate and he's on so many meds I hate to give him anymore than he needs. Any advice is greatly appreciated!!
I do have a nursing necklace I will have to get out and try. He has been eating a lot of solids, probably because they are cold. The frozen fruit idea is good. I really hate to give Tylenol, so we've only used it one night. He's usually a happy kid, but nights have been awful.
When teething, I will give Motrin before bed, to encourage a good night's sleep. I try not to do it more than 3 nights in a row.
I did end up trying an amber teething necklace on DS2 because he got like 6 teeth within a few months. I didn't notice a huge difference. I'm not convinced it worked, but I'm not convinced it was a waste. It was $15 on Amazon. Worth a try, in my opinion!
And I have no experience teething with DD, as she is still toothless! Nothing in sight. The boys were about a year when they got their first teeth, but then it was an onslaught - tooth after tooth for months. I sure hope she's not too terribly bothered by it
We never tried a teething necklace. Frozen washcloths (half damp, half dry for holding), and frozen fruit helped a lot with DD I am not big on giving pain meds, but I will give Tylenol before bed if he has had a few nights in a row of bad sleep because of teething. And I will give another dose later in the night as well (6 hours?) if he wakes up in pain. I usually avoid it during the day for teething.
We got an amber necklace for M for Christmas. On days when he wears it he only wakes up 1 time at night (even though he doesn't sleep with it). If we forget to put it on, he wakes up 4-5 times a night. I'm a believer, even if it is coincidence.
