Hi everyone, I've been MIA for about 8 months now, but am returning since a friend from my A15 board told me to read "who's been the licker" if I ever wanted a laugh. You guys are cray here.... and Ive missed you. Happy Monday to you all!
I can't believe we're in the homestretch to Christmas! I have at least 50% of presents left to wrap, one or two presents to track down shipping information on (and hope they arrive on my doorstep today!), and Christmas cards are just going out in the mail today. I also have to figure out what I'm making for our various celebrations (though thank God, I'm not hosting anything this year). And we have a play kitchen to put together. I'm both happy and scared about how fast this week is going to fly by.
Also, on a sadder note, I found out yesterday that one of my favorite college professors passed this weekend, she had been battling cancer off and on since shortly after I graduated. It's hitting me harder than I originally thought it would - I haven't spoken with her in years, but she was a huge impact on my college experience, and such a wise, kind person. I went to a very small school, so this has really impacted a wide network of people. My heart hurts, and it just kind of feels like a cap on the fact that 2016 really was not a great year.
I'm sorry to hear about your professor's passing, jillywilly!
LO has her 18 month checkup today. She had us up for, oh, 3.5 hours last night? She only napped on me yesterday and apparently would only sleep on us last night. Send caffeine!

Love tit in solidarity erbear, maybe something in the air.
I have a super busy day. Gotta clean the entire house before the in laws get here tomorrow, need to go grocery shopping, need to drop gifts off at my family's house to take to Charleston, and drop a gift off at doggie daycare(I made a ton of cookies for them). I started weight watchers back up and went to a meeting yesterday, so I'll have to worry about all that too. Have a good day everyone!!
Good for you and WW pghtruelove! Have you had success on it before?
Happy Monday anaberry, welcome to the board. I'm sorry I dont remember you posting before, can you give us a little refresher about yourself and your LO?
That's awesome pghtruelove! Are you doing online or actually going to meetings?
I'm actually going to meetings. They are super helpful to me. Having the app and online community this time around is really nice though! I didn't have a smart phone last time I did it!

I'm so sorry for your loss jillywilly. It's always unexpected when a non-family member death hits so hard. But I don't think it's uncommon. You can form real rapports with your professors.
My SIL and nieces went to her parents for the holiday, and my brother's flying out to join them later this week. We're grabbing dinner tonight. I called him last night to finalize plans and drool over his current child free state. Some highlights of the conversation.
"Oh my god Billy, running errands without the fear that at any minute she's going to call sobbing that she can't handle them anymore, and I have to get home? It's amazing"
"I slept till 8:30!"
"I've been eating Thai food AND Indian food!" (my niece is allergic to peanuts, so both types of restaurants are off limits)
Yesterday my little family took me out for sushi and a drive through the Enchanted Forest and it was just a very nice evening! It's become tradition to do those things on my birthday because both are such a nice precursor to Christmas.
Later this morning is DS's preschool Christmas concert! I can't wait to see what they've been practicing..and what DS will do lol! This is his first concert
DD has changed a lot over the last 2 or 3 days. She is really cracking me up.
E is starting his 48hr EEG today. The lady is supposed to get here around 10 to get everything set up. I don't envision this going very well. With his 1hr EEG we basically had to hold him down while he screamed. We have to keep all the leeds on until Wednesday morning. We might be in for a long couple of days.

H is off work today, which works well because my car is still in the shop, but it should be fixed tonight. So I'm taking his car to work and he and J will be stuck here today.
We had 2 Christmas parties this weekend. I'm beat. I usually get some cleaning done on the weekends, not so much this time.
My MIL will be staying with us starting tomorrow, until the 28th. We don't have an extra bed, let alone an extra room, so she is sleeping on our couch. The same spot I use to catch up here and Facebook and emails and whatnot. I'm anticipating a very long 8 days.
Morning everyone! tjanca22 that sounds so tough, hang in there. Fingers crossed for you it goes much better than the 1 hour.
It's cold here, it was 2 degrees when I dropped DS at school. They wont be going outside today! LO is with my in laws.
Not much going on for us this week, surprisingly. What's everyone doing for lunch today? We made oven baked pizza subs last night and I made myself an extra to bring for lunch today. I hope it's good leftover!
I am at work today. It is the first time in 9 years that I haven't taken the week before Christmas off, but I just couldn't this year since I start my maternity leave in 2 weeks. I don't like it. I want to be at home watching christmas movies and snuggling my baby girl.

Also, DH has been pestering me about when I think I'll be ready to start trying for #3. I usually just tell him "Damn, can I have the one I'm currently knocked up with first before we have this conversation???" Well, C had a very rough night last night and I was up with her from 11 until 2. I just remembered that I threw the monitor at DH last night when he got home from work at 2:30 in the morning and said something along the lines of "hard pass on #3 babe" before I passed out. Eff you 18 month sleep regression!
Thanks everyone. Good so far, thankfully. E sat in his high chair really well while she was hooking everything up. He laughed every time she used the air compressor to help the glue dry! Lots of snacks and music videos were used as distraction techniques and now he's sleeping. 1 hour down only 47 to go!

I'm working from home today and C and I are making banana bread and cookies. I had a dream last night that I walked by my grandmas house and peeked in the window and she was holding C. It made me happy in my dream but today I'm sad. I miss her and I know she would have loved C so much.
We're home from my grandparents. The 3 hour drive yesterday was not great. It was windy and raining/sleeting/snowing for most of the winding mountain roads. Pretty sure O has an ear infection so that made last night less than fun. It took over 2 hours to get him to sleep then he was up at 6:15. Neither H nor I slept well so we're just keeping it low key here. Then we had a 3 hour drive to get home. It was a nice drive back where O slept the for most of it. So, no family nap time here. But H and I like road trips together so it was nice to have time together. O has a dr appointment to check his ears at 3:30. H is currently passed out on the couch. Dinner is in the crockpot. Hoping O will start to feel better soon.

I'm going to throat punch H if he keeps this shit up. I asked him to do exactly ONE thing today, wash J's laundry since I wasn't able to get everything done this weekend. 14 hours later when I get home, still hadn't been touched. It's one fucking load of laundry. Then I go in to J's room to get it and do it myself, and trip on MILs bags that are in the middle of the room. Uhh. No. Sorry MIL, but you're not spreading your stuff around J's room. You know we don't have any space, so your stuff will need to go wherever I can make room for it, not in the middle of J's bedroom.
