Christmas Eve we go to MIL's house and she tends to switch it up every year. This year she's having pulled pork for sandwiches and beer cheese soup.
Christmas Day is with my family, at our house. We do prime rib, a ham, and some sort of potato every year. We are doing baked potato, ceaser salad, garlic bread, and probably some fruit salad or something. Then we always have dips/cheese balls, raw veggies, crackers, etc. out for later in the day if people start to get hungry again.

The only real sit down meal we have anymore is on Christmas Eve, usually we go to a nice restaurant with my in-laws.
Christmas morning always had cinnamon buns growing up. I still do that, even though H doesn't eat them and X can't yet. H told me he's making doughnuts Christmas morning this year, so maybe that will be a new tradition?
We typically just run around like crazy from house to house and then it's 9pm and we realize we haven't had a real meal all day. I really, really, can't wait until we live locally again and can announce "feel free to come by our house to see us and the kid(s). We'll have some food for you" and not.leave.the.house.

Ugh, I'm so glad we don't have any running to do. 1 place each day and we can just stay and relax both days. Will you guys live local again anytime soon, or is this several years down the line?
H's family: Crab leg seafood feast on Christmas Eve, then lasagna for brunch on Christmas. (They're Italian.)
My dad's side: whatever is easy, changes every year. Soups. Sandwiches. Maybe a ham. Typical potluck sides. (Christmas Eve)
My mom's side: different country each year, the menu based on that. It's been a lot of fun. Last year we did fondue though because we couldn't all agree on which country to do. And this year we are doing a repeat because lazy. My grandma likes to do the meal but she's getting older so it's getting harder for her. And yet she doesn't want help.. (Christmas day)
This year we'll see my grandmother for Christmas- there will be turkey, mashed potatoes, and some assorted sides. My aunt does most of the cooking and my mom does some side dishes usually.
We only see one side on Christmas each year so there's little running around. We visit the other side sometime before New Years.
Next year we'll go over to MIL's Christmas Eve just to hang out and then again Christmas morning for presents, then to whoever is hosting for the afternoon (usually one of MIL's sisters). It's easy though cause we're about 7 minutes away from MIL. Or maybe we'll convince everyone to come to our house instead of MIL's...but then I have to clean and have snacks...

Christmas Eve is appetizers, and usually including cheese fondue. Christmas Day with the inlaws is usually frozen lasagna. Christmas Day with my mom is always a leg of lamb. Christmas Day with my Dad's side is either turkey or ham and the usual sides. The only food I insist on is cinnamon buns Christmas morning. My mom used to make them from scratch but the ones in a can are pretty good too. So I shouldn't give DD a taste of cinnamon bun on Christmas morning?

Our traditions have changed over time. When my parents were together, we'd have a big buffet on Christmas eve. Waffles and bacon for breakfast on Christmas day, and then a turkey dinner mid-afternoon.
After they divorced, one would have Christmas dinner on Christmas eve, and the other would have it on Christmas day. They would alternate who got which day each year.
Nowadays, I rarely make it to my hometown for Christmas, so we go to FIL/SMIL's on Christmas eve for appetizers and snacks. Then I make a small turkey dinner for Christmas day.
Christmas Eve we go to GMIL's nursing home for dinner with FIL's side. We eat sloppy joes or other simple things. Then we go to MIL's cousin's Christmas which is a potluck, usually ham and such.
Christmas: morning we go to IL's house for sausages, lefse, eggs, etc. The afternoon is with my family usually turkey/ham same stuff as thanksgiving. We are hosting this year.

This year we're doing a ham, scalloped potatoes, roasted green vegetables, and bread. Plus too many desserts. I almost always do ham and change up the sides.
We usually spend Christmas with my parents (except last year when I was too preggers to fly) and they almost always do lamb, and I make a variety of cookies. It's just me, my husband, and my parents (and now baby!) so it's a low-key affair.

When I was a kid, my family would always get one of those tins of popcorn that had 3 flavors in it. Now, since DH doesn't like popcorn, and I have never liked the caramel flavor, I never get them. But today at Rite Aid, I found a tin that is 1 part butter, and 2 parts cheese!

It would be awesome. Except I don't eat seafood. Hahahaha. I married into the wrong family.
I love reading people's Christmas traditions! I definitely want to start some for us this year, and have had ideas but never followed through with the execution. When I was younger we never went anywhere; my parents hosted a big party on Christmas Eve with all their friends, I'd get up at 5 am and we'd open presents after my mom got her coffee.
We aren't going anywhere this year either bc 9 hours to ILs and 7 to my mom and everyone is coming 2 weeks later for C's birthday!
I'm doing French toast for breakfast(and am so excited about it!) and haven't decided on dinner yet... probably something crock potable!

Growing up we always did Christmas Eve at home and Christmas at my grandparents. My mom always made a spiral ham, heavy apps, and an apple cobbler. My grandparents make a roasted beef filet, ranch twice baked potatoes, some sort of green veggie, and chocolate pies. My mom has since switched it up and makes some random fancy meal. I'm excited that we get to go down this year and she's making a crown roast.
When we're home for the holidays I do heavy apps for Christmas Eve and change up Christmas evening dinner. Since SS will be with his mom this year, we're doing Christmas with him tomorrow. I'm making citrus sage turkey breast with gravy, goat cheese mashed potatoes, roasted French green beans, and eggnog cheesecake. I can't wait!

Just pack a few crab legs in your purse. I'll give you my address to send.

Hahaha I was literally going to type the exact same thing. Or just send their address. They're Italian so they might not mind a couple more people to feed, right?
We are doing Christmas Eve at home (and hoping to stick to that plan in years to come). We do take out Chinese it was a tradition at SO's family. We alternate where we go for Christmas day between his fam and mine. Now that we have a house I'm hoping to host my family next year. I would make ham and scalloped potatoes because I love them. Or maybe just a lot of crab legs because right now that sounds amazing. Oh also, I'm big on Christmas Day breakfast. My mom used to make honey cornbread in a cast iron skillet in the oven, so I've done that. Or a breakfast casserole. Or cinnamon rolls. I should probably pick for this year!

The more, the merrier. Plus, if you bring your babies, we can throw them all with the in laws to watch (because grandparents and babies, you know) and we can all chill and drink wine.

OMG. Can I come over for dinner? That sounds so good!

Yum, do you have a recipe for his honey cornbread? I literally have never used my cast iron, I'm a virgin!
