We have an Instant Pot and I've been making yogurt the past few weeks. Probably after next week's six month well check, I'll let R start having some! It literally is just milk me starter...no additional sugar.
DS hates peas. He's eager for a bite then realizes what it is. Then makes a face, gags, then cries. Then "asks" for more. After about 5 bites he just screams haha. I'll try one more time then only mix in once in awhile. Haha.
Oh and he's a piggy with everything else he's tried. He can eat an entire jar and then some. So far still drinking/nursing the same. And since he's a peanut I'm letting him eat until he's done.
I made the mistake of letting him taste B's yogurt last night. He screamed at me until I gave him another. They were super tiny tastes, in total he probably had about 5 spoonfuls. And then I thought ohhhh wait can he even eat this? He cried and stuck his lips out when it was gone. Pretty hilarious
Our pediatrician says to give the baby anything (anything!) aside from honey. I bought plain yogurt to mix with some fruits for her, but the yogurt was out of stock (wah). Otherwise, she would have already had it!
G is obsessed with peas. OBSESSED. When she sees them coming she screams at you if you don't give her the spoon quickly enough. LOL. I'm relieved because she was really not into the first couple foods we tried.
That's so funny! We haven't tried peas yet but will soon

So baby girl had done well with all foods that she has tried so far. Friday night I gave carrots for the first time, she liked it. Saturday morning she had a bowel movement, peanut butter like consistency full of carrots but it looked ok. Sat afternoon I decide to give her a little bit of peanut butter for the first time which she also liked, no obvious reactions. A little while later she had another bowel movement, carrots in it again and a little mucusy. Then Sat PM she had a 3rd bowel movement and it was green with blood steaks and a little diarrhea like. She has not eaten anything green. She only had carrots that one time Fri night & peanut butter that one time Sat afternoon.
Well shoot, she must be allergic to carrot or peanut butter. But I'm confused why carrot seemed ok at first. And peanut butter allergy I thought showed up as a rash, etc. Any thoughts? Quick google search tells me it's unlikely to be allergic to carrots.
I know I didn't follow the rules by only doing 1 new food at a time for 3 days in a row. Lesson learned

katelm I guess since carrots is an unlikely culprit I'd try doing that for the 3 days. I'd also call the doctor before introducing any more peanut butter. I hope she's not allergic! Maybe dc2london has insights into how peanut allergy can present.

I thought about calling the doctor but I don't want to admit that I didn't follow the rules of waiting several days to introduce another new food
katelm it came take a few exposures for an allergic reaction to develop, so I think it could be either food. Carrots are less of a common allergen but people can develop allergies to pretty much anything. My guess is the PB is more likely but I would probably wait to give either again until you speak to the pediatrician. Have you noticed any other symptoms (rash, eczema, swelling, trouble breathing, irritability)? Don't beat yourself up over not following the "rules".

Personally, I would hold off on pb until you speak with a dr. That kind of reaction on a first exposure makes me nervous. I'm sorry

No rash, eczema, swelling or trouble breathing which is all the signs I was looking for. Maybe minor irritability but not sure if related. I only gave her a very tiny amount of the peanut butter mixed with breastmilk. I'll hold off for now, gosh I really hope she's not allergic.
katelm - for what it's worth, our pediatrician gave no rules. Feed her whatever you like whenever you like. There was no try three times in a row or wait days between new foods. Try not to beat yourself up over doing two foods close together.
As for the rest - it wouldn't phase me as my kid has only ever pooped green and it's always been on the looser side. However, that's her normal; it's not your baby's normal. I'd call and ask your pediatrician's opinion.
My belly doesn't digest corn kernels well and it leads to upsetment in that area. My mind would blame the carrots here, but peanut allergies aren't something to mess with so I understand the concern. I hope the pediatrician puts your mind at ease!

Same here. I told the ped I was waiting several days before introducing new foods, and he said I don't need to.
Does anyone else's kid now crying while having a BM? DS isn't constipated and his poop is still super soft..just not liquid like before. But now he cries while pushing. I don't know if I should be concerned or if he's just now adjusting to having to work to go. Before he'd fart and poop at the same time. I'm just sensitive to my kids bowel habits. As DD is and was super constipated with hard stool. Just curious if he's just adjusting.

Is anyone doing BLW or modified BLW here? Or are you all doing purées?
Right now we are doing purees, but I've let her chew on a few things. She loves chewing the tops off steamed broccoli. I also usually put purée on her little spoon-things and let her put it in her mouth, since she's pretty resistant to me spoon feeding her. I'll probably start transitioning away from purees at 6 months because she is much more interested in food that is not puréed.
