hannahbear Sometimes I feel like you must be supermom! Your little guy is lucky 😀
That's super nice of you!! I just focus on certain things that I find fun... but I haven't done laundry in two weeks and my house is a disaster zone. So, there's that.

I made baby food all of 2 times before I said aint nobody got time for this, and stocked up on Beechnut jars. lol So now I'm freaked out about how he's going to learn to chew foods. He's only had puree, Sunday I tried giving him scrambled eggs mashed so tiny. He started gagging/ choking. He was fine but I got frigen terrified and took it all away from him.

The gagging is normal, they do learn to adjust. It's natures why to prevent choking. After a few times of "real" food the gagging decreases.
And I made food with DD, but honestly don't have the time or desire to do it this time around. I buy baby food too. I looked at ingredients list and there's only one added item to keep in shelf stable. I'm fine with that...it's worth it.

I don't make baby food either. But, we started with puffs to introduce more solid food. Ds2 did gag a little the first time (and actually puked up some baby food). Puffs dissolve super quickly, so I'm not too worried giving them to him. He now goes crazy for them.

I don't make baby food either. The Gerber purees are pretty good and don't have added ingredients except for citric acid to keep fruits from browning. I will typically give DS food from our plates to try, then give him a puree and some puffs. I am hoping to expose him to lots of flavors and textures this way. Fingers crossed he stays a good eater. So far, he loves everything we give him, especially yogurt.
I feel like my baby is struggling with gas or bowel movements right now. Is this normal? She was up crying last night for a bit and has been gassy both during the day and at night. We mostly give her fruits, vegetables and oatmeal. Should I be doing something else?

What have you been giving? With both kids, apples and bananas have always stopped them up a bit. I usually alternate them with a day of pears or prunes or something to keep them a bit more regular. Ds1 always had issues with gas and his tummy bothering him after starting solids, and I still give him pear-based pouches occassionally to help with his constipation. Ds2 seems a little less affected, but I don't give bananas 3 days in a row because his poop gets hard.

good call! I've actually given mine like every fruit and veggie EXCEPT for banana specifically because I don't want to deal with constipation.

DS was like this when we started to give him more, it was like his body needed to adjust to firmer BM. He still has times were he's uncomfortable and I give him a container of prunes and problem solved!
She's had some solid poops and then normal baby poops. This morning was the former followed soon by the latter.
We rarely give the same thing two days in a row, so one day oatmeal then next day is cauliflower and the next is strawberries, etc. Veggies are broccoli, corn, cauliflower, carrots, grean beans, peas... Fruits are strawberries, raspberries, blueberries... often mixed with yogurt or formula to cut the flavor.
She did have apples on Sunday. I hadn't considered apples as being constipating like bananas, but now I know! Thanks!

I've heard before that all the "p" foods - prunes/pears/peas/peaches help get things going, but for us pears and prunes were most effective.
Broccoli and cauliflower can be gassy, so that could also make for some tummy troubles.
Yogurt, especially full fat, can also cause some constipation in some babies.
Ds1's constipation was so bad - we had (well, we still do) to give a few oz of juice daily to keep him from getting backed up. Strange, but apple juice gets things moving, whereas applesauce binds. With ds1, after 1 yr, we also had to cut back from whole milk to 2% and then 1 % milk, which helped a lot.
If you asked me years ago if I'd ever care this much about poop I would have said you were crazy. But here I am, still making sure my 3.5 yr old doesn't have applesauce and a banana in the same day.
redhead610 I hear you on caring about poop. DH and I talk about poop at least 10x a day in regards to DD. At 2 she's awful with constipation. I have to hide applesauce so she can't see it. Plus she's on Benefiber and Miralax (the latter is worth all the risks recently in the news). We analyze poop more than I ever thought I would. Haha. People warn you but you don't believe it.

Ds1 was on Miralax for a long time so I hear you! Now daily juice is enough. Of course, then there is the guilt because I know a lot of anti-juice people. But, I'll take giving my kid a few oz of juice every day over rock solid poop any time!
We used one a couple times with ds1. I'd put frozen grapes, strawberries, or melon in it for teething. It made a huge sticky mess so I didn't use it much.

Like with everything else, he will eventually figure out how to chew what person do you know never learned how to chew and is still on purees? I wouldn't worry about it!
I don't purée but I do mash my daughters food. I don't think I've ever seen her chew actually.
Baby girl lovesss sweet potato casserole (steamed sweet potatoes, breastmilk, cinnamon). Actually she is loving cinnamon period.
This weekend we did scrambled eggs with pepper & chives.
So far we are in the allergy clear with peanut butter & almond butter & eggs as far as I can tell. What allergen should I try next? Wheat, soy, shellfish?

that's awesome! Keep giving her everything- my pediatrician said repeated exposure is key
