Morning! We're heading over my parents' later this afternoon. I've got everything done, so we're just watching Christmas episodes of tv shows until then!
Happy Christmas Eve! We opened our family gifts and C loves his Hess truck. Hands down the favorite! Who knew?
Mom is coming over for Christmas Eve dinner tonight and there's football at 1. I finished all my wrapping last night so just have to make chocolate cream pie and Chex mix for tomorrow and I'm good!
H's grandfather has gotten a Hess truck for every great/grandson for every year of their entire lives. So we have the year trucks from 87-99 then starting again from last year. They've always been a big hit in our family!!
Another Christmas miracle over here, E slept until 8am and is happily talking to himself in his crib!
Just need to finish pumping and check a few things off my to do list like finish wrapping, get dinner ready for tonight (FIL is coming over), and get monkey bread ready for the morning. Also we will go to the children's mass at church this afternoon.
Any movie recs for a 3 year old? is anyone else's kid super picky about movies? We watched frosty the snowman and he started balling his eyes out when frosty melted. Then we tried frozen and he said 'I don't like her majesty movies' and that they scared him. He likes the movie cars so something along those lines?

my 4 year old has never liked many movies. Everything scares him. One of his faves though is Toy Story. That's about one of the only movies he will watch
. I literally was just thinking would he watch toy story because he has a toy story book set and he runs around the house yelling 'to infinity and beyond!!' I'll try that one.
tjanca22 did you guys get any results/answers from the EEG yet?
No, not yet. All the results were uploaded on Wednesday to the neurologist and we were told he'd follow up in 48-72 hours. With the holidays, I'm hoping to hear back sometime next week. Of course our kid has to be complicated and on Wednesday night he spiked a fever and had a mini seizure. Only my kid would wait to get everything off so we couldn't record it.
budders oh no stomach bug on Christmas hope all is well soon.
michyme123 yikes! We still seem to be sitting on the edge of the storm but our local news and radio is even talking about your area!
@poppyc8 my son isn't really into movies yet. But I said the other day "we should find a good Christmas movie to watch!" And he said "but mom we already watched Elf twice" lol! He loved all the elves and Santa-not a traditional kids movie but he actually would sit down a bit to see it and apparently by his response got his Christmas fix from it.
At the farm today, will be at my grandmas for supper, then we'll go home for Christmas morning tomorrow!

Christmas-wise LBB was very into Nightmare before Christmas at 3, but that might not work for you. The other ones we showed him at that age were Year Without A Santa Clause and The Night Before Christmas (the one with the mice and the clocks). Third and Bird had a Christmas Special which he watched over and over again if you can get your hands on it (a very squooky Christmas, or something like that)
Non-Christmas, LBB was obsessed with Shrek at that age. All the Shrek movies (even the Christmas one and the 3-d one). And then similar ones like Puss and Boots. Disney-wise it was Big Hero Six and Lilo and Stitch.

No Christmas Miracle sleeping in here. Both boys were up before 6, like usual. We're on our way to visit one of DH's best friends and her family. Which is a nice break from his family.
Happy Christmas Eve everyone!! C gave mom and dad an early Christmas present and generously shared his cold with us. Could be worse, but still no fun. Now all 3 of us are coughing and constantly blowing (wiping Cs) noses. My throat is also pretty sore. At least DH can take the good drugs and not be so miserable. Just finished baking peanut butter blossoms. Next is to make the broccoli cauliflower salad that we need for tomorrow and bake an apple pie for tonight. Hopefully I can get my kitchen mopped as soon as C goes down for his nap. budders, hope you are feeling better soon!

We are team no Christmas sleeping miracle here. I was hoping DS might sleep in since he was up about an hour past his usual bedtime last night, but he was up bright and early at 6:30 as usual, complete with a nasty cough that is currently interfering with his nap . At least his Christmas cold isn't making him too miserable, other than being a little whinier than usual this morning (probably because he's tired).
I still managed to get dessert for tonight done, and cheese potatoes are pre-made and ready to go to MIL's tomorrow. If H successfully gets DS back down, I may even get a load of laundry folded still, so super exciting Christmas so far, LOL. Merry Christmas Eve everyone!

MIL is pissed now. I asked her to wait on assembling the little tool bench she bought for J, because of all the small parts it came with. She's in a huff because she feels like she "struck out" with gifts for J and I. I apparently wasn't properly enthralled with the blanket and socks I was given. The other things she gave to J were a set of Magic Tracks, where he is terrified by the sound the car makes when it's turned on, and a winter hat that is too small to fit on his head.
MIL, H, and J all left to go to the store, so I'm enjoying a few minutes home alone for the first time in forever, then I need to run out to get some last minute gifts. Once J goes to sleep tonight, I will start wrapping gifts. Such a procrastinator this year.

We were only supposed to spend the morning with DH's friend's family. It ended up basically being all day. Whoops. But yay.
On our way to church to watch my niece and nephew perform in the service, then home to light the menorah and celebrate Chanukah before Christmas dinner.

If you want to roll them out and use cookie cutters, these are awesome and delicious - www.inkatrinaskitchen.com/best-sugar-cookie-recipe-ever/ I made a huge batch of these last week for J's pre-k and they were awesome topped with a little frosting. I also omitted the almond extract and they still tasted very good. Make sure you taken them out of the oven before they brown otherwise they will not taste as good
J is a sensitive movie kid as well. He likes Rudolph, Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas(and Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas), Snoopy or any Charlie Brown movies.
Thanks for the cookie recs. I ended up doing the inkatrinaskitchen one but without the frosting. They turned out delicious and the dough was so easy to work with.
