Upcoming appointments this week? Yes! Finally-we have our 16 week appointment tomorrow where we will do our genetic testing and set the date for our AS!
Any new symptoms or changes? Life is mostly great-except constipation. I will be talking to the doc about that one.
Rants/Raves/Questions? We were so blessed this Christmas with gifts for the baby and from family. It is getting more exciting and real!
GTKY: What are your New Year's Eve plans? We are trying to decide what to do. We moved this last summer and so it's a new area and not sure what there is to do.
Thanks for starting cateyes. I was going to yesterday, but Christmas kinda got in the way.
How far along are you? 15w1d
How big is baby? Yellow canary, 8 pack box of crayons, hass avacado.
Upcoming appointments this week?nope
Any new symptoms or changes? Nothing new that I can think of.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Still dealing with constipation. My LO gave me his cold for Christmas (a few days early actually)- so I've been feeling pretty crappy the last few days because of that. My boobs still hurt!
GTKY: What are your New Year's Eve plans? We haven't done anything for New Years in a long time. No plans this year either. Our home plans usually include easy to make food and movies on the couch.
Any new symptoms or changes? I'm pretty sure I've been feeling movement in the last week, which is definitely earlier than I expected, but I'm confident I'm not making it up!
Rants/Raves/Questions?
GTKY: What are your New Year's Eve plans? We'll have a few friends over and play games and eat snacks.
Upcoming appointments this week? Not until next week
Any new symptoms or changes? Constipation seems to be easing up. Less headaches. So basically feeling almost normal except I still get the gagging when I brush my teeth. The bump is coming. H can't tell, but I can. It's not obvious yet, thankfully. I still want to hide it a few more weeks. Thankfully it's sweater weather!
Rants/Raves/Questions? If I could get the acne to go away, I would be thrilled. We were able to find the heartbeat last week at 14 weeks with the home doppler I bought H. Took a few minutes and it was easy to lose. Tried it again last night and found it right away!
GTKY: What are your New Year's Eve plans? We're having three other couples over for a game night. We did this two years ago and it was a blast. No fancy champagne drinks for me this time, but I love to make new finger foods so those will be tasty.

How far along are you? 16 weeks (when did that happen?!)
How big is baby? Dill pickle/avocado
Upcoming appointments this week? Hopefully getting Panorama results within the week
Any new symptoms or changes? Feeling good and getting my appetite back!
Rants/Raves/Questions?
GTKY: What are your New Year's Eve plans? Our friends are hosting a murder mystery dinner. There will be 8 of us and I'm looking forward to it. They also live 2 miles away so it's an easy drive home.
Upcoming appointments this week? not until 1/4. this is the first one DH can come to, and our dr says it'll be a cool ultrasound, so yay!
Any new symptoms or changes? i've had some cramping and very very light spotting in the last few days, so just trying to take it easy and get plenty of rest. i'm so exhausted from Christmas.
Rants/Raves/Questions? between all the new toys from christmas, my maternity clothes coming out, and the need to move the guest room to the office (because guest room will become baby's room), i am in serious need of some time to organize my house. it's driving me nuts! is it too early for the nesting bug to bite??
GTKY: What are your New Year's Eve plans? haha DH and i have struggled to stay up until midnight for years. our friends/neighbors invited us over for dinner, but we declined...we gave our au pair the night off (she's 23, so NYE is still a huge going out night for her). we'll hang out in pjs at home, maybe cook a nice dinner and play scrabble after DD is in bed.
agm04- I had the same thought about nesting this last weekend. H pointed out that we only have a little over 23 weeks till due date and all of a sudden it hit me that we better get to work. We are basically rearranging all of our bedrooms to set up what will be the guestroom and the nursery. And we have a ton to do in the nursery to make it what we want. I also feel like I need to organize and clean my entire house… Nesting…
cateyes whoa that's a reality check! i have a feeling june is going to be here in the blink of an eye. i don't think i ever got the nesting urge with my first pregnancy...hopefully i can actually make it productive!

The only nesting type urge I got when I was pregnant with DD was that in the last 2 weeks or so, I got really paranoid that I didn't have enough newborn sized stuff and that they were wrong on the AS so I'd have a boy. So I went to Carter's and bought a bunch of gender neutral newborn sized stuff. That I ended up returning because DD was indeed a girl, and she grew out of newborn sized clothes in less than a month haha
Me: 29 DH: 35 NTNP since May 2013 charting since June 2014 dx: Graves disease (radioactive iodine), Crohns disease (abdominal surgeries) MMC October 2015 (9 weeks) Severe MFI diagnosis July 2015
I'm not really nesting, per say but I had to clean out our spare room for NYE guests and became totally overwhelmed. This baby has more stuff than I do. I guess the next few weeks are sorting and organizing for me

Any new symptoms or changes? Definitely feeling the bump lately.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I felt good for about a week then barfed up my Christmas dinner. I was so mad. Got maternity pics and my sprinkle on the calendar in April. Things are getting real!
GTKY: What are your New Year's Eve plans? H and I will be working. So I'll be fast asleep by 9 on NYE.

How far along are you? 17 weeks tomorrow
How big is baby? Pomegranate
Upcoming appointments this week? Tomorrow is my elective ultrasound! I'm so freaking excited. I hope we can see the gender. I have a regular checkup on the 3rd.
Any new symptoms or changes? Bump is getting more obvious. I showed DD that my belly is getting bigger and she's so excited. I've been noticing Braxton hicks sometimes. I hope it's normal.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Is it normal to have Braxton hicks contractions already? I don't remember having them with Dd until I think 3rd trimester.
GTKY: What are your New Year's Eve plans? Visiting my family. Getting on a plane tonight. Getting my ultrasound tomorrow before the "party" which will involve a ton of delicious appetizers and hanging out with my family.

I'm definitely in a "nesting" mode this week. I've had this crazy urge to organize/clean, get rid of old toys, and start rearranging rooms. I'm second guessing our plan to have the guest room be a guest and baby room for #3. The room seems cramped. But we need a guest room so getting rid of the queen bed in there is out of the question. We are considering giving DD a queen bed and when guests come over, they can sleep in her room. STM+ is giving a 2.5-3 year old a queen bed a crazy idea??

violetrose My DD has slept in a full size bed since she moved out of her crib. She likes how big it is and gets a bit nervous if we go somewhere and she has to sleep in a twin, since she might fall out. So I say it's a good plan!

How far along are you? 16 weeks
How big is baby? Batman
Upcoming appointments this week? OB on Tuesday, urologist on Thursday
Any new symptoms or changes? Some heartburn, but Tums takes care of that
Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm so over this catheter. I'm off work this week, and I had so many plans for cleaning the house and having fun with DD. Instead, I've spent most of the week on the couch since this catheter is so damn uncomfortable. And I get to consult Dr Google about such lovely things as best sleep positions to get the catheter to drain at night, and if it's normal for it to leak during bowel movements. I don't know how I'm going to go to work next week with it in.
GTKY: What are your New Year's Eve plans? Just hanging out at home with MH and DD.

violetrose My sister gave us her nursery furniture when we were expecting DS and moved my nephew into a queen bed. He was 2 years and 8 months and did great. She did a bed rail on one side until they night trained and then he had a small step stool to climb up independently. It was never an issue for them. He's 6 now and has one of those great bunk beds that has a full on the bottom. Kid sleeps like a king!

I don't see an issue with a queen bed. More space means less likely to fall out anyway. DD has been in a full size bed since she stopped cosleeping. One side is against the wall and we don't even have a rail on it. She's not a huge mover, and the mattress and box spring are on the floor. When my husband and I go to work in the morning, I move DD to our queen bed because she likes it and if she's not there she will wake up crying (I do have a rail on this one). I try to avoid making her cranky for my MIL. She does well there though. You can always just put it on the floor for now if it's too high.
GTKY: I'm with family OOT. We'll be staying in and I plan to go to sleep and wake up close to midnight to share a toast of sparkling cider with everyone.

violetrose we were considering the same but would your DD be ok with having to share her room with guests? We decided that DS is going to get the full bed but my MIL can stay on the pullout when she visits

How far along? 17w 4d
How big? A chipmunk
Upcoming appointments? Anatomy scan on 1/3!
New symptoms? Well either my nausea came back with a vengeance or I was fighting off the flu. My gut is beginning to look more like a bump. Lower back pain is starting but manageable. I also feel like I'm slowing down when I walk, not intentionally. I'm already turning into a sloth.
Rants raves? Not really? DH was sick this week and part of me was like WTF I've been sick for 3 months. But I also realized how much he's been doing for the past 3 months!
GTYK: we are going to DSs friends party tomorrow during the day (bowling!) but nothing at night. BIL volunteered to come up Sunday so DH and I could go to dinner or something. That will be more exciting to me.
Post by starsandshamrocks123 on Dec 30, 2016 18:04:02 GMT -5
ihatepizza our anatomy scan is 1/3 too. I am so anxious so I'm glad DH is coming. I will feel so much better when I know everything looks good in there!!! Ours is at exactly 18w and I still swear they have me farther ahead if I use my OD vs LMP. I just hope it's not too early and they can see everything. Last time i waited till 22 weeks so I was not worried about that
