How often are you nursing? Solids? NOD but 7-8 per 24 hrs generally. Solids 3x
How are nights? I think improving. LO did only one wake up 2 nights in a row! Last night was bad but I am recovering from food poisoning and I just got my period so I am sure my supply is awful.
How is pumping/nursing going? Great
Q/rants/raves LO has recently decided discovered pinching is fun. It's not hard so as long as her nails aren't too sharp it's not bad. She is also super easy to redirect.
GTKY: thoughts on New Years resolutions? Any you want to share? I am pro-resolution, I like goals in general not just at New Years though. We are going to try and be better about meal planning/less grocery waste this year! We used to be great but it has back slid so much since LO was born.
2) We nurse about 5-6 times during the day and 2 times overnight. How many times should I be nursing at this age? Solids 3x a day as of two days ago!
3) Nights are good!
4) I am starting to think about weaning and what that looks like. I go on an adult only trip with DH first week of March (DD is 1 end of April). I always thought I would make a year but now I am considering using this trip to aide in weaning and giving myself a little Bfing break before TfAS. We are ready to try ASAP (took us two years to conceive DD) but my cycle hasn't returned yet so part of me wants to wean so we can get started right after the trip. I'm just not sure what to do. I also move end of Jan so I don't want to throw too much change at DD.
The biting is sucking since she has two teeth now too!
GTKY: the traditional weight loss resolution here!

How often are you nursing? Solids? Nursing about 5-6 times during the day and maybe 4-6 at night. How important are solids at this point? Probably pretty important, right? Ugh. I know I don't feed her enough. She is still only getting solids maybe once a day. And sometimes it's only a few bites. I should get better about it but she won't do purees and I'm really bad about eating meals to share with her. I need to get better about that. Ugh. For shame.
How are nights? They're alright. We bed share and I've started letting her nurse of the same side twice in a row instead of switching her and it's leading to more sleep for both of us. Just waiting for my boobs to get the memo so the excessive leaking stops.
How is pumping/nursing going? Pretty well. She's been biting more often which sucks, but she doesn't have any teeth yet so at least I have that going for me. She only does it at the very beginning of a nursing session, before she latches, so I feel like I can't really end the nursing session after she bites. She's usually just too excited about something.
Q/rants/raves: my nipples have been pretty sore lately and I'm not sure why. They hurt pretty bad at the very beginning sitting the latch and then maybe 3-4 seconds after that and then there's no more pain. So I don't know what's up with it.

Hai!!! I'm in the camp of solids not being THAT important before age 1. At least she is getting to try foods and such! You could also just keep some things on hand for her like beans, avocado, banana etc you can toss down whenever.

@led I think not really important. My LO ate almost nothing until like 8.5 months or so and then it was just like someone flipped a switch and she wanted to eat. We did BLW. I just kept offering once a day until it became clear that she wanted more. I wouldn't worry about it! It's mostly about exploration at this point not calories.
westiemom weaning is a very personal decision and I don't think there is a right answer! Does LO take a bottle? Do you have pumped milk to get you through to 1, or would you use formula? My cycle came back last month after we went to solids 3x, not sure if it's related or not... I read somewhere that 8 months is the average amount of time for EBF mamas cycles to return.... so you still could get it, but I also no people who could not conceive until LO was fully weaned. So you never know.
No experience on how long weaning takes, etc although I'd imagine it's different before 1 if you are going to the bottle rather than exclusively food. Of LO takes a bottle well, I'd imagine you could do it pretty quickly, the baby part not sure on the reducing your supple down with minimal discomfort. Anyway gl with whatever you decide!!
Thanks jewel441! DD does take a bottle and will even take one from me. I have enough pumped milk for a couple months so I could do a combo with formula.
Thanks for the info on your cycle and the average return time! That makes me feel better. I think I will KOKO for now and see what happens!
