My Mom helped me install those racks on the door - so so so useful and relatively cheap! I think it was 20-40 dollars at Lowe's.
This dresser was a wedding gift, and it used to just hold junk and office supplies. I'm thinking it will be a diaper station, but the cat's food will need to be relocated. The can next to it will be for dirty diapers (those are all cloth diapers!) I still need to wash all of them. ourcrazynavylife I've done a lot of research, but do you have a preferred brand of detergent? I want something I can easily pick up at the grocery store.
Both of these were in my parents' shed. I want to add short fat legs to the outhouse one so it's a little off the ground. I painted the fronts of those drawers because my bro used the dresser for years and made a mess of the front with paint and marks.

mosdub I use tide original powder. I would do a quick test of your water to check your hardness before buying a big thing of detergent though. You can get the strips for like $1 at cloth diaper stores.
mosdub I use liquid original tide. We have ridiculously hard water (over 180ppm) and had issues with suds and residue by using powder even with adding calgon (water softener).
There's fancy stuff out there you can buy but I found tide is the best for us
ourcrazynavylifehpnegirl I don't think we have hard water. We have city water, and I never notice issues with film left on glasses or mineral build up. I was leaning toward Tide from my research, so I think I'll grab some of that. I currently have scented arm & hammer, but I shouldn't use anything with added perfumes/oils right?

Correct. Just get the original stuff.
I'm on city water as well so it's really just luck of the draw. Do you get residue on your tub if you go 1-2 weeks without cleaning? That's a good way to get an idea but not fool proof. I have plenty of extra test strips if you want me to send you some to test your water
onesweetworld are they all different sizes? The first few sizes are outgrown so quick that you don't really need much in them
Yes, each box is a different size. I already know she won't wear much of the newborn stuff. When I was with her, I made she she didn't spend more than $3 per piece lol. When she was on her own, who knows.

onesweetworld H was with me at Macy's and we were shopping the sale section of the baby area since we had a gift card. He was like "why are you picking up 12month things? That's so far down the road". I had to explain we will appreciate having a stockpile of things and that he quite possibly will be in 12 month clothes way sooner than 12 months.

Oh yes. I know a couple of people who had babies that went home in 3m and were in 12m by 6 months. I think 12m was the one size we were in (outside of NB) for less than 2 months. We were in 18m at his first birthday.
The weights listed on the carter's clothes are mostly useless, btw.. length and build of baby matter more than their actual weight.

When I shop I only buy 9 months older. I figure people love to give the super small stuff at showers so I'll start stocking up on big stuff. Plus we got 6 huge tote bins on hand me downs. My dresser is already mostly packed full of newborn-3 months.

Our nursery is pretty much "done". I still have to hang the names above the cribs but those are secret so they won't go up until after the birth. And I have a few crafts to finish but for the most part this is it. I may have DH make me a couple more cloud shelves and I need to figure out what I'm doing for curtains.
Finally can post in here! Nursery is ready for two kids (minus the extra crib/bed). Baby girl will be sleeping with us, until we can trust our son not to mess with her while we sleep.
