Pregsomnia hit hard last night. I'm glad it's quiet at my office today. DHs car is part of the Volkswagen diesel buy back, were selling his car tonight and buying a new car this weekend, excited and nervous lol
I have had some random nights of insomnia lately. Last night I was so tired I couldn't fall asleep and then C woke up at 2:00. I think she is having nightmares because she just wanted me to hold and rock her.
I'm at work. I stopped at Starbucks on the way and got a half caffeine white mocha. It was delicious and so worth the sugar
Looking forward to another long weekend, it can't come soon enough!

I desperately need to motivate because I have a long list of things I want to do but I'm on my couch and want to finish all the new Blindspot episodes I have saved. But if I want my new pants hemmed in time for my vacation Saturday I need to get my butt up and over to the tailor! Decisions decisions lol.
Me: 32, Wife: 38, Together for 5 years, Married for 2 years IUI #1 (8/2016): Letrozole, Ovidrel, Crinone = BFN IUI #2 (9/2016): Letrozole, Ovidrel, Endometrin = BFP!! EDD 5/26/17
DH took the girls to his mom's so I could have a relaxing night. It was nice to have the house to myself but I'm looking forward to hem coming home today.
I'm trying to get motivated to do work today, but instead am looking up homestudy birth programs. ;-)
I didn't have insomnia but I slept like crap because I was so uncomfortable. Those two hip bones right at the base of my spine just ached. Luckily in the middle of the night I got to and wedged a pillow under there and slept fibe after that. I might need one of those pregnancy pillows!
chknma, isn't it funny how we look forward to time alone, then can't wait to get the kids back again?
icedtea, vodka sauce sounds delicious, might have to make that for our new years game night with a couple friends. Hope that wasn't what gave you the heartburn.
AFM, I have a new planner for 2017 that I'm obsessing over, and the panera by my work apparently added a drive through which made my morning. Picking up a few groceries on the way home, then trying to finish getting Christmas gifts put away so I can function in my house again.
Hi everyone! We've been in full holiday mode for the last week but had good visits with both families and now home and back at work. This week is a bit less crazy than I had anticipated because my overnight work trip got canceled. My friend from NY is coming tomorrow to visit and we are planning on spending a relaxing long weekend at camp. I am scheming New Years Eve/Day plans to watch the first sunrise of 2017 someplace spectacular (and be the first to see it) but maybe also see a giant sardine drop at midnight.
OMG, so I totally thought I had ordered a gift for my friend and went to check to see when it would arrive. Couldn't find the order confirmation email, go to the online store and see that the item is still in the shopping cart. Whaaaat the heck.
@lildiamondeyes you have 2 options for getting the cash, check or wire transfer. If you chose the check option, the dealership will give you a check when you turn in the car. We opted for the wire transfer. We will get contacted by JPMorgan chase in 1-3 business days after the buyback appointment to give them our account number and then the money will be transferred. I figure it's a wash when it comes to depositing a check and waiting for it to clear and when the wire goes through. Hoping to have the cash to be able to buy a car by Monday or DH will have to get a rental car because we work in opposite directions
I'm researching having a CPA or tax preparer do our taxes this year. I've always done them myself but I'm overwhelmed this year. Anyone have experience in Taxes that can give me recommendations is what to look for and pricing? I have no idea what to expect or what is the norm.

I can't remember how much ours charged, but we've had the best luck using personal recommendations. Look into how long they've been in business, and if they're actually an accountant or just went through some H&R Block training.
Just researched cars for a while and looked at some loan calculators. Now I feel like I need a drink.
Definitely not looking forward to the car payments. Or paying excise tax on a newer car (although it was a bit less than I had expected).
Interest rates are still pretty decent though so that should help. Good luck car shopping!
Thanks! I'm hoping to save up as much of a downpayment as I can, but I'd be better later in the year. Oh well. Geico has been really good to me insurance-wise, so I'm hoping that stays true.

We don't use geico but found that adding a "new" car with collision (I got a '14 Ford Fusion back in august to replace my '04 Nissan Sentra) only upped our premium by about $8-10/month. I believe our insurance is a subsidiary of nationwide. We went through our credit union who acts sort of like an agent to compare quotes from different places

Geico was really expensive for us when I was getting quotes but it probably varies a lot. Switching homeowner's and auto to the same company saved us a lot of money.

Yeah, H is trying to get us to move everything to USAA or Navy Fed, so I may end up there too.

Hi, ladies! I'm currently sitting on the couch watching Tarzan with DD. We went to the outlets with my mom earlier and finally bought some stuff for baby boy. I bought mostly 3-6 month stuff but did buy a few newborn sleepers and onesies since I remember having pretty much none of those for DD and we had to run out to buy some sleepers when we got home from the hospital. I definitely find buying for a boy different than a girl. I had to really try to restrain myself buying DD's stuff but I had a hard time finding baby boy stuff I liked. That's probably a good thing.

Hi all! My husband and I are sort of going off the grid so to speak in terms of social media. We've just been so distracted lately and have decided to try and declutter our lives and it's really helped a lot. We are only like 4 days in, but it feels good. We've been trying to donate stuff that we don't use too so it's nice that we are freeing up space in the house. I don't really count proboards as social media, but I still deleted tapatalk from my tablet/phone so I won't be around quite as much since laptops and toddlers just don't mix lol. My H has gone to the extreme and deactivated all his social accounts and went out and got a featureless flip phone. I'm definitely not that committed and just deleted all the apps. I think I'm going to go at least 2 months without it and see how I feel after.
But anyways we have really been struggling with getting DS to take his naps this week so I feel like I'm taking crazy pills over here. He's napping now though and we have some friends from out of town who are coming over for dinner tonight. We are just doing pizza since I've been cooking a lot this past week and FIL is in town and coming over tomorrow night for dinner and we are cooking then.
Not much else is going on. We ordered DS his twin bed so I'm looking forward/dreading moving him into his own room once it arrives. I'm hoping the transition is easy.
BabyStandish how old is your DS? I'm debating moving my DS to a twin so we can reuse his crib but I feel like 20 months (when we would start a transition) is just so young.
lupincat, I know you didn't ask me but... we transitioned DS1 at 18-19m to a toddler bed. It's had it's up and downs but overall, it's hasn't been too big of an issue. We had a 2-3 week stint recently of him getting up and yelling at the door because he wanted out when we put him down but that's subsided as quickly as it started. He'll be 2 in mid-January, for reference
I'm enjoying my time off with my boys, we got back yesterday from visiting the in-laws, today was spent enjoying the nice day and trying to put away all the Christmas gifts, my house still feels like a disaster.
My doc's office called and informed me my csection is scheduled for May 12th, one day before my due date (per my request to not have it too far ahead of my due date). Bummed out she won't let me try for a VBAC since I've had two csections and my last one was just 14 months ago. There is a doc in town that would let me get to VBAC but he's about an hour away and I just don't want to mess with it and then wind up with a c anyway. I feel like I'm "giving up" but I just want a healthy baby!
katie0919, that's frustrating :\ It sucks that you don't get to try for a vbac if you want one, but if you're okay with another c-section, try not to feel like you're giving up. You're just doing what you have to
