Sorry I'm no good at memes but what is everyone up to today? Dd wants to go to the library and "read books, not throw books" so we will probably go for a little while this morning then I need to take down christmas decorations. Dd will be so sad to take the tree down though!
@cubbiebear, sounds like a good way to spend the morning if she does indeed just read and not throw the books 😉
I got one step closer to getting the house back in order last night, getting all the Christmas stuff but away besides 1 box of things that need to be opened and sorted out. Tonight I tackle laundry....send help.
I'm de-Christmasing today. We had so much going on last week that I am 100% over it and want to just skip to spring time!
It snowed this morning and now it's raining so it's pretty gross out, I don't foresee us going anywhere until these evening when I have to give my cousin a ride to the light rail so he can catch his flight home.

Also, DH and I have been taking girl names. We have a boy name already since we didn't use it last time. We have a short list going but one of the names on the list is Ka/ra. He thinks people will pronounce like Car-uh if spelled with a K instead of Care-uh and I disagree....so what do you guys think?

cubbiebear325 I have a friend named Kara that's pronounced Care-uh. I don't remember there being a big issue with the pronunciation so I think it'll be ok.

cubbiebear325, when I see the name Kara, I automatically pronounce it care-ah. I think that's the default way to pronounce but it could depend on where you live.

I have to go get my hair colored this morning and then spend the rest of the day cleaning the house. I really just want to be back in bed right now. It feels futile to clean the house because DD will be home tomorrow and she is a tiny tornado. I think I will have to come up with some outside activities.
My friend is coming tonight to visit and I have a lot of cleaning to do. Plus the guest room/nursery is a mess with the flooring work started but not close to being finished so she'll have to sleep on the couch for the night. I'm excited though to get through the rest of the work week (ugh, I really need to get off work early tomorrow but I am dreading my boss's reaction since I'm only working 3 days this week) and having a relaxing long weekend away.

cubbiebear325 I think Kara is one of those names that just gets pronounced both ways and has to be corrected unfortunately... I like it visually with a K but I could be biased since my name starts with a K lol.
AFM I'm on my couch right now trying to decide what to do today. The thing that must happen is New Years cards' envelopes must be printed and stamped and then stuffed once the card arrives in the mail (they're going in the mail as soon as the anatomy scan is over tomorrow morning assuming all goes well). I should work on my registry as we will need to have that done sooner rather than later for a March baby shower. I get so held up evaluating car seats and strollers with alllll the options! I should also start taking down Christmas but DW will want to drag it out lol. There's more on my ideal to-do list but these are the big things lol.

I'm at work today. Tomorrow is a holiday for the office so I just need to get through today. I finished our buybuybaby registry last night, I need to work on the Amazon registry for the things that I want that buybuybaby doesn't carry, which is only a few items.

rosesquared, my only advice for a car seat is make sure the cover is removable and machine-washable. We have a Britax B-safe from DD so we're just reusing that. But the material is spot-clean only and I hate it. It is stained from sunscreen and looks awful but I can't just throw it in the washer. But since this is our last baby, we can't justify buying a new infant seat.

Also, as good as the ratings are, you'll want to play with them in the store and see how they fit in your car. Not all car seats will work with all cars
We have 2 graco MySize/MyRide 65s. They are a PITA to tighten. If we didn't desperately need a new couch, I'd be trading them in for something else

PirateCat, I didn't think of it either when we registered for the car seat but I was kicking myself as soon as the first spill happened in the seat. Machine-washable became a requirement when we got the convertible seat, which I love.

Baby boy really ramped up his activity in the past day or so. I can feel him throughout the day now, rather than just when I'm lying still at night. Last night I felt him moving from the outside for the first time - I think he was doing flips.
rosesquared well I had picked the britax b-safe travel system, but my stepmom has a chicco stroller from my 4yo sister that she's giving us, so we are going with the chicco keyfit 30 since it's compatible with the stroller

I don't think the spelling will dictate how you pronounce it. Whether you spell it Cara or Kara I think I'd assume it was Car-uh because I'm associating it with someone I already know. You might have to just correct people along the way because there are probably 3 legit pronunciations... Care-ah, Car-uh, Cah-ruh. Which pronunciation are you hoping for? I think all 3 are very timeless and elegant so either way it's a win!
cubbiebear325, I agree with the rest, spelling won't really matter. It'll depend on the person and region. My name is, I think, pretty easy to pronounce, but some people (especially in the south) add an "ay" in there for some reason.

cubbiebear325 I agree that that's a name that could be pronounced either way, whether it starts with a C or K.
rosesquared- YES to removable fabric on the car seat. We didn't have issue with our bucket seat but it came in handy with our convertible seat on more than one occasion.
AFM, I've been off that past two days and I've accomplished nothing so far. Oh well. We're headed to a coworkers for supper tonight. Hopefully DS is good. He was in a mood this morning - cried when DH woke him up so DH said he could go back to sleep but then he was up 5 min later crying because he thought DH had left for work. He was fine by the time they left so fx he has a good day at daycare
