@holliberry I taught at Reggio inspired school and we were very play based. There are similarities in them and montessori such as simple toys and child lead learning. Our classroom had lots of natural materials, loose parts, and art was "process art" So a Christmas project would have been letting the kids collage with pine needles, tinsel and wrapping paper instead of of a painted handprint turned into a reindeer by the teacher drawing on a face for example. I vote with everyone else that it doesnt hurt to tour.
Your description sounds a lot like the preschool we live next door to. it's an off-shoot of Waldorf. Natural toys, child lead learning. Gardening. Tons of free play. If I was not a SAHM I would love for my kids to go there.
