Do you have experience with a hand pump? I'm a SAHM as well and that may be a better option for me.
I have one but didn't use it unless I was out without kids. Like a pump and dump situation.
I don't know that it is what you want for everyday pumping.
Are you in the USofA? Affordable Care Act makes it so most insurances cover an electric pump if not a solid portion of it. Your first set is to call the # on the back of your insurance card. They will tell you your benefit levels and then give you a list medical equipment providers they cover. Some providers require a prescription from your doctor, others will fax them a request for it themselves after you place your order.
Yeah I'm in the US. I'm just not sure if I'd actually get a lot of use from an electric pump.

I don't have a specific recommendation, but ask for a list of covered medical supply stores from your insurance and then call them to see what they offer or what they are willing to get. All of my local medical supply places only had hospital grade pumps.

I loved my hand pump but not until dd was much older and my flow was more regulated. When i was trying to build a stash at home it was much easier to be hands free in case the baby needed to be picked up.
Medela double electric worked great for me. I pumped every week day 2x. I loved the adjustable pumping bra. It had Velcro, so it could be a small-large. I want a second one this time because it gets gross fast.
I'd recommend a hand pump in the car for emergencies like forgetting electric or being stuck somewhere.
I loved the kiinde bags that just screwed on to the cones. I could pump right into them.
ugaqueencity, I forget what your post baby plans are. Are you going back to work and expect to be pumping multiple times a day? When I was pumping full time before the babies got here, I had two full sets of shields/connectors/etc... with a lot of bottles that fit the pump. I then would use a set, then put it in the fridge to use later (without having to wash it all the way). The other set was my backup for the day, or if it was a long day I would use for the second half of the day. Wash everything every night. I think it depends on what your situation is (will you have access to a fridge or need to use a new/clean set every pumping occasion?).
If you pump only occasionally, one would be fine if you add some extra membranes in case they lose suction.

ugaqueencity The only thing you may need to consider is the size of the shields. I have the Medela pump and had to get smaller shields (I think they come in 4 or 5 sizes). But otherwise, one set should be good!
