What are you doing the first Monday of the New Year?

HL had a rough couple of hours last night from 7-9pm. Her GERD and Silent Reflux was in full force because she didn't finish taking her medicine. I'm trying to figure out the best way to give it to her. I've been putting it in her formula but think we need to just give it to her in water. Her 2 month checkup is Wednesday so I'll ask them about it then.

I plan to set up January's Budget and play with my planner a bit. I want go Grocery Shopping since Mr. P is home today. It is his last day off.

DH is home today. We're shipping DS next door to my ILs so he can annoy them for a bit and we can get some stuff done around the house.

We have to go out and find a nose frida for DD. She has a horrible cold, complete with goopy eyes. The mucus is loosening up so I want to help clear that out. Still the happiest baby ever, even with gross watery eyes.

My weekend was a sh*tshow, so glad that is over.

Just me, DH, DS, and my mom now. We're heading out to BBB later to pick up a larger swaddle sack and look at RNPs for LO. He keeps breaking out of his current one. I'd just leave him unswaddled if he didn't constantly smack himself in the face and wake himself up - I was up every 2 hours last night. z_z

Dreading going to the dentist tomorrow. I usually don't mind going to the dentist at all, but the cavities they filled in earlier this year are hurting again and I can't chew anything harder than chewy bread on the left side of my mouth. Blech.

I need to prepare for my return to work tomorrow I'm less sad about leaving DS2 in daycare with DS1 and more scared about getting myself and the kids ready , remembering everything we need and making it to work on time.

DH is off work today and it's cold out. He's still sleeping and DD just woke up (its 930). Everyone is catching up on sleep from NYE.

Going grocery shopping today since we didn't make it yesterday. Nothing else planned. I need to get organized for DD'S birthday party on Sunday.

I just finished my first solo grocery shopping trip. 😳 It went ok I guess. People seemed to think DS1 acting like a dog was cute. 😐 Now I'm sitting in my car in the driveway because DS1 fell asleep about 10 minutes from home. I skipped his nap to go shopping (so it coordinated with DS2's long nap), so he needs a few minutes. We got outside a little bit this morning, which was nice. It's supposed to rain soon so we'll be stuck indoors the rest of the day. H is on call again today and then on nights tomorrow. I start to go stir crazy alone here with the kids for so long. He said there's quite a few cases tomorrow, and he's on night call, so I might be able to work for the first time since October tomorrow. I'm so pumped.

After 6 days of really bad nighttime sleep DD slept 12 hours last night. My boobs still haven't recovered. I'm still trying to figure out if she needs the fourth nap or not (cat nap around 6:30/7).
We went to the zoo today. It was COLD. Which is CA cold around 48 degrees. DS had a good time and DD slept in the carrier.

I'm struggling with the feeling of "looking forward" to something. I think I just feel a post-holiday slump. Anyone else feel this way after the holidays?

+1 to this. DS2 starts daycare tomorrow. I'm taking tomorrow to figure out which work clothes still fit, pull out and clean/organize pumping supplies, etc. My biggest hesitation is all the logistics required to get 2 kids to and from daycare each day.

I should have done more preparing this afternoon, but I spent it with DS2 napping on my lap while I read a book and watched football. Dear God I hope my work clothes fit.

Positive vibes for those of you heading back to work and wondering how you'll make it work.

DS1 has continued going to daycare on his regular schedule while I've been off. Since H leaves for work much too early to take him, it's been on me getting him there 3 days/week since DS2 came. I've been successfully getting myself and both boys ready and out the door "on time" by 8am and getting to daycare by 8:30, which would have me to work by 9. I'm pretty sure the first few times I have do it on an actual timeline it'll be a cluster, but I've had a lot of good practice.

Amen. I go back the 17th. I'm also worried about pulling. We won't be home until the 5th, and I only have about 20oz frozen so far. I thought I would have all this time to build a stash but life had other ideas.

I'm contemplating if after taking 14 weeks paid (using my own leave) it would be rude to ask for 2 more unpaid. I'm just not anywhere near ready.

I'm having a beer and watching the Sugar Bowl. It's been...a weekend. It actually wasn't too bad being solo with the boys, but it is exhausting. I wish I could sleep for 10-12 hours uninterrupted. Instead, I'm taking advantage of H being home during the day tomorrow and having my first day back to work. I told him I'm excited. He told me it's a shit show. Yay. LOL. I feel like I'm probably going to need orientation again. 😂 I haven't worked since the beginning of October. I actually called and volunteered hours the day before DS was born. They didn't need me, but said they were short the next day. I told them I'd call them in the morning. I had a baby instead. 😉

yess! I usually read reality Steve to prep, but I haven't this season yet. So, my favorites after tonight are Vanessa (Canadian SPED teacher), Rachel the lawyer that got the first impression rose and Danielle (I think that's her name) the NICU nurse. Corinne is already driving me crazy.

I really like those three too! I picked Danielle in my Bachelor fantasy league to win the whole thing before I even watched last night's episode. Corinne is so obnoxious though. I also can't stand Josephine...

I didn't start trying on work clothes until midnight. I did find a good pair of pants. I may wear them every day this week.

I need to find more suitable pumping tops. I don't want to strip every time I need to pump.

My entire leave I was getting up and getting the kids to daycare on our normal schedule.

Then today comes and I head back to work. Except I have a 7:40 doctor's appointment. And I have appointments for the kids Thursday and Friday.

Next week we'll get into our groove, I guess! The best laid plans...

Yeah. My birthday is this weekend and this year, with two kids now, I'm starting to feel old. I usually love my birthday but it's weird this year.

I felt this way after I had #1. She was born a month before I turned 30. I never thought I would care about hitting the big 3-0 but somehow having a kid made me feel so old.
