Today is DH's last day of vacation, so we'll go back to mundane tomorrow. I think we're going to take the kids out to the beach today and let DS play in the sand. It's going to be in the 80s here--ugh.
We took the tree and Christmas decorations down yesterday and got everything put away. As much as I love decorating and enjoy having everything out, I like once everything goes back to normal afterwards.
I cannot wait to get rid of our tree and get my living room back. Today is our last day with H at home and I really wish he would take care of it today, but he always insists on keeping the tree up through the first week of January. 😔
Not much on the agenda today, which is a huge relief after yesterday. I will be trying to fit in as much sleep as possible. Last night was a horror show with D.
Morning! Was up at 4 alternating wake ups between both kids. I don't think DS's ear infection is cleared up, so back to the ped we go. Low key day around here. H just got off shift and we might go to the Disney store since both kids got gift cards for there. I'll squeeze cleaning, dishes, dinner and laundry folding in there at some point. As for now, I need coffee.
I hoping to take down my tree today. There is no room for a tree in my living room so it feels ultra cluttered. However this probably won't happen until H comes home from work. Daycare is closed today so I've got both kids.
I'm waiting for the washer repair man. Then I have to call the car seat manufacturer to see if they can walk me through fixing it. Not a fan of adulting today.
Weekend day here too, so lounging around. Probably will get the tree down and we are going to watch the Rose Bowl Parade soon. Weird that it's not on new year's day, but thats the NFL being the NFL and bumping tradition since it fell on a Sunday.
N is suddenly so much older seeming. Has almost a schedule and very alert and smiling a little. She also graduated to size 1 diapers and more 3m clothes. I need to get the pump out and practice the bottle though, blerg. Eta: OK apparently it's tradition for it not to be on a Sunday and not just NFL. Still much prefer college football over NFL.
We are bundled up out at the playground. It feels good in the sun (38*)! I'm just testing out my new baby wearing coat. danib, I think you said you got one too. How are you liking it? I'm very happy so far.
Add me to the list of those who love Christmas but love getting my house back from the Christmas clutter. We got inside decorations down yesterday, H just had a few outside decorations to do silly man didn't take my suggestion of doing outside decorations yesterday so they are still up and the weather is miserable today.
I did manage to get a run in this morning in this crappy weather, now I might go to the store while the kids are napping. Aka solo! Weee.

I really like mine as well. It's a knock-off, so if I'm being honest, the proportions are a little bit "off", but it does the trick and is much nicer than trying to zip one of DH's jackets over us and leaving my chest/neck open.
Yea, mine doesn't have real down and is a bit thinner than my other winter cost so I can maybe see it being cold on the coldest days. Just have to use the car those days I guess.
Congrats on the run aggiebug! I'm jealous! Do you have a jogging stroller? I know your H is home today so you probably didn't use it; just wondering for future use.
Same question for you ClassyMrsA since you said you were going to start running too. (IIRC)
I don't have anything yet. I'll probably start looking on Craig's list in a few months.
hangry Yes, I have a jogging stroller. It's a single though so we'll either have to get a double or get a 2nd one. For now, I'm just walking so I push Lillian in the stroller and wear Lilah. Before Lilah is 6 months I'll probably ask my mom to watch her for 5ks so I can start running.

hangry yes we have a single Bob (favorite stroller in our line up!!) And a double true running stroller that we picked up for $50 off fb marketplace but we can't use that until C can sit up by himself and frankly that is more for family runs. I don't wanna push it.
Eta I don't know how I am going to keep running once H goes back to work tomorrow honestly. So many problematic factors.
If I had to invest in one double running stroller it would be a baby jogger summit followed by a double Bob. The latter would be easier to find used I think.

What do you have now? Do you like it?
I have a Graco Relay Click Connect. It's awesome. I love it so much. Really easy to push and steer, not too heavy, and it's easy to fold and unfold.
I haven't even begun thinking about double running/jogging strollers - I nominate H to push it lol. Or maybe we can have two singles and each push one.
My arms are dying. I have two cranky babies that are only happy to sleep on mommy today. I brushed my teeth earlier though. Also since I don't have any hands to drink water with, I haven't needed the bathroom... Silver lining I suppose.
I'm kinda dreading tonight. D was awful last night. I got about 7.5 hours of sleep over five segments (<1 hr, ~1.5 hr, ~2 hr, <1 hr, ~2 hr). She's been extra sleepy today, while I have not had a chance to nap because my husband decided to piss off and do whatever random tasks around the house he wanted to do all day while I tended to both kids. I'm terrified she's going to pull the same shit tonight. I was having so much trouble not falling asleep with her in the glider last night 😞
omg, that picture is the cutest kleigh. it's like you're buried under sweet little babies. i'm sure that sounds more delightful than it actually is after a couple hours
We had a nice time at the beach and then B slept on the way home and finished his nap once we got back to the house, so DH and I were able to watch my Gators in relative peace. C napped from 11:30-ish til 3:30...missed her first trip to the beach entirely, lol.
Tonight DH is grilling some steaks, and we'll either watch the Sugar Bowl or the Bachelor. I watched the preview last night and I'm really bummed it's Nick, he just seems like a sleaze-ball.
waitwhat He was "supposed" to be back today but he got a call from HR Friday afternoon and apparently he had requested off through tomorrow so he goes back Wednesday. Which is awesome bc it makes the first week a short one and it was a nice little treat to find out on Friday.

Today is H's last day before having to go to work so we have just been having a lazy day at home watching Man in the High Castle and eating leftover pizza.
I'm getting C ready for bed now. He was enjoying his bath until stupid me accidentally splashed water in his face and he started freaking out. He wouldn't stop until he got his bottle but now he's already sleeping in my arms. I'm hoping he gives us some good stretches tonight.
There must be some sort of full moon at the hangry house. We have been trying to put O to bed for 2 1/2 hours. He has gotten out of bed no less than 100x. We have tried everything. Now H is in bed with him. Thank god we went for the twin bed instead of the toddler size this summer!
And E has not settled during this time either. I have had her in the carrier, walking around the house between putting O back in bed for the last hour. She finally fell alseep but as soon as I sit down, she cries.
This does not bode well for the night! Wish me luck or give me all your sorries.
Starting bedtime for night two in his crib. While getting his swaddle ready while I nurse, H remarks that maybe we don't need a swaddle because he falls asleep so easily.
hangry LT for hugs. Hopefully the worst is behind youband you'll have a great rest of the night. If not, come hang out with me here; I'm prepared for the worst tonight with this baby.
Sorry for the rough bedtimes hangry. Hopefully this is just a blip for your oldest. B randomly has nights where he really fights it and it's exhausting...mom and dad need downtime, kid!
+1 for being bummed about Nick being the bachelor! Plus even more bummed that DirecTV and Hearst are in a fight so I can't watch any ABC shows live. (My internet is too slow for that) I'll be catching up tomorrow! GKU has a thread dedicated to the show every week, as long as we don't say anything insensitive about ttc, or complain too much about our babies, they are super fun to watch the show with. goldenlove3, how are you liking Man in the High Castle? I'm intrigued by the premise but I love history and theories of how different our country would look if things went differently with each war.
So we tried a warm bath and lotion before bedtime and he didn't last 10 minutes on the boob!?! I've got dish washer white noise running, and I had classical music playing in our dimly lit bathroom. I'm still up because I'm afraid as soon as I close my eyes he'll wake, plus it's been a month of 2am sleep times until last Friday which has been 4-5am.
Up for first diaper change and feeding! He slept 2.5 hours!?! This is amazing and you are all angels! 👼 Of course, I struggle getting back to sleep!?! L is out again.
danib, maybe baby can read minds? lol I hope you got him back to sleep! waitwhat, I was wondering about this too! I need some realistic people who are on a budget to tell me if blue apron or any of those food delivery things are worth it! In February, we're going to try me alone with L(but mom will hop on train if need be) and something like that for me to eat would be amazing but not if it costs quadruple what I spend on groceries for myself.
So it seems like a few others with not normal nights, all my sorries to everyone else too.
My night got better. E finally crashed and she slept for another 4+ hours! This is good for us.
Unfortunately, MH has had a much tougher time with O. He fell asleep in his bed and I don't know when he came into our bed. Just as I was getting up now, o let out a scream and the sigh that came from H was so pathetic. I would normally do all the wake ups since I'm not working and can chill all day. But I can't while still cosleeping with E. I feel bad I guess , but that's part of deciding to be parents.
Off to attempt another 4 hours (should I be so greedy)
