I had to work today and the whole office was complaining that we didn't have a holiday today, when everyone we do business with is off. I kinda liked it though, it was quiet and I got a lot accomplished.
I didn't get to work out over the weekend so I feel like a slug. I guess I'll try to do a routine at home tonight or Tomorrow night. --If anyone would like to be fitness accountability buddies I would love that!

Happy new year to all!
Today is DS' first day at daycare. I didn't think I would, but I cried like a baby. It does not help that he refuses to take a bottle from DH or me. I am really praying he just takes a bottle from the ladies there. It makes me sad to think of him being hungry and crying.
I am still not as active on here as I would like because the terrible twos is alive and kicking in our household. DD has been keeping us quite occupied with her frequent meltdowns. DH and I are praying DS will skip that phase.
I hope all of your LOs have a good first day. I was so nervous when DD started daycare, but I ended up loving it. She seems to enjoy her time there.
+1 to all of this! I hope everyone had a great first day!
We didn't choose it initially, but daycare has been an unexpected great thing for us as well. There are hard days, but it feels like both kids are flourishing there.
Back to the routine for us today. But sickness can leave my house now, please.
E's sworn hatred of boogie wipes continues.
Same here! L is over the awful cold. G still needs to kick the cough. After his morning bottle he has these coughing fits that have been making him puke. Poor dude.
I hope everyone who had first days at daycare had positive experiences! Ours go to a private sitter, but they seem to enjoy themselves. There are 2 other babies 2 months older than them, and today at pick up they were all 4 babbling and laughing at each other. It is the sweetest thing!

We went back Tuesday and jumped right back in. I am starting my busy season at work now and am not quite ready for it. We are heading to the mountains this weekend to ski/play in the snow so that should be fun.
That sounds like a fun weekend sandandsea! It will be a nice getaway to keep your mind off work.
We're looking at a production push at work...yippeeee...not. This happens every January because so many people take vacation in December, so we have to make up for it now. Ugh. But we have our holiday lunch today, so I'm looking forward to some delicious food!

Back to work this week for me. Luckily today is my day off though:)
I'm going to meet my friend's 1 day old squish tonight!
And H and I are 75% sure we're going to be moving cross country this summer! I'm excited but nervous. I think we will finally buy a house too after 12 years of renting!
That's awesome packerfan4life! Home ownership has its own annoyances but it is also so rewarding to not be throwing money at rent. You'll be moving closer to family right? That will be nice!

Yup! The job I liked the most is a 1 hr drive to my parents. And 40 min to my grandparents. Much better than the 19 hour travel day we had flying back. The next time I try to cheap out on tickets someone needs to come give me a swift kick in the butt
With a toddler and 6 month old. And then the flight attendant had the gall to ask me why the 2 yo was freaking the f*** out (after sitting for over an hour on an unmoving plane since our pilot was delayed).

Oh man. It must have taken some major self control to not flip out on her.

what? This kind of flight delay is the stuff of nightmares.

Really. I'd be freaking out at that point. There's no question why the 2 year old is. Glad you made it despite the looong flight!

Ooooof to 19 hours.
I hope the first days went well! Please check in and let us know! And manybellsdown I'm glad daycare has been working out for your family.
I am going to Nebraska in a week to visit my relative who is too elderly to travel. Every one around me had done more involved travel with their babies (we're in California) but I'm still worried. Cold! Planes! Cars! I like being in new places but I've always hated the process of getting there.
C pulled to stand in his crib tonight. My heart about stopped. He had shown no signs of doing any such thing. The crib was still at the highest level and his chest was at the top rail. Even though it really wasn't dangerous, it was a shot of adrenaline to be so taken by surprise. I lowered the crib immediately, but. Child.
He did look so proud of himself though. That was adorable.
ArgyleEnigma, I bet that was startling to see him standing there! I'm sure he was so proud.
Our cribs' highest level seems so much lower than most. They're still on the highest and when I stand the kids up, the top is still above their shoulders. Just my random observation of the day that has no point other than to say it. Ha!
F has been sick since Christmas. He has gone through two cycles of different sicknesses. He's been out of school all week this week and dh is gone so I can't work and I also was recovering from a sinus infection. I had a mild breakdown yesterday morning but i reminded myself that it could be worse and thankfully my work is flexible to allow me to stay home with my sick babies. This mama needs an hour to herself though. I'm hoping he'll feel better to go to school tomorrow and my nanny can come watch ds2. Here's to hoping!
I hope everyone had easy transitions to new daycares and I can't believe there are babies standing up already.
I haven't caught up but I keep meaning to participate here more.
I just wanted to tell someone that instead of the very urgent proposal I should be working on this morning I purchased a sleeping baby productions ring sling this morning. whooops.
mladerri, I really hope you all start feeling better soon. I at least hope your son gets better so that he can return to school and you can rest tomorrow. You def are due for a break.
