I am currently pumping at work. The other person who does my job is back this week and I am going to try really hard to not tell her to F off when she asks how the last 2 weeks were without her.
We put all of our decorations away yesterday and are working on organizing the house better.
Tomorrow is DD1's first day back to school. Oh my God I am so ready. So yep, I am ready for a normal schedule again. My decorations are put away except for the tree. The ornaments are off but I need DH's help putting it away, so there's no telling how long it'll be up. I also have a table full of returns to make that I am putting off the DD1 is in school.
I knew that in January I needed to look into Kindergarten registration, and holy crap, it's in 2.5 weeks. Whoa. I can't believe my first baby will be in K.

I am back to work again. We were out of town all weekend finishing up family christmases so my christmas decorations will not be put away until this coming weekend.
Re baby proofing is any one else's baby not into moving much. Ds will roll belly to back but has never rolled back to belly he is much more interested in looking around and watching what is going on than rolling. I know its a milestone he should be hitting soon since he will be 6 months on the 15th. I will ask my doctor at his check up but just wanted to see if there any other anti movement babies out there.

A hadn't pooped in a while so I gave him prunes yesterday morning. He was like a ticking time bomb. Yesterday went by, nothing. Last night went by, nothing. Overnight, nothing. This morning came. Oh the humanity. So. Much. Poop.
Back to work for me too. None of the Christmas decorations are put away. That was the one thing I wanted to do this weekend and it didn't get done. le sigh.
I am off until the 9th. Our Christmas decorations go down on the 27th lol DH hates Christmas decorating - I still have to put New Years stuff away though.
Some girl friends and I are planning a home spa girls day tomorrow with apps, mimosas, chocolate, foot baths, nail do's lol I'm really excited
I feel bad for my one friend though. She is bringing her 4 month old because her husband cannot deal ( her son takes bottles and naps fine, he's just a very hands-off dad). I can tell she was looking forward to some pampering chill time though so I'm hoping I can be on baby duty for her most of the time.

Soon I am going to have to start baby proofing...
This is us too. FLint is trying to pull himself by his hands, and can push up his butt and move his legs, he just hasn't put it together yet. We already bought andnpt up baby gates because wow it makes life with our dogs easier lol, but I need to organize - there is a ton of shit at baby level he could get into currently

Baby R has rolled each way 2-3 times, but has not done it in weeks. Her favorite things in life are laying while chewing a toy, and being held. A friend of mine is a developmental pedi in training and she told me that babies on average roll later since being put to sleep in their backs instead of stomachs. Stomach sleeping causes babies to engage certain muscles that doesn't happen when they are on their backs, which in turn set them up for rolling sooner than back sleeping. She also said rolling is 'not a very good milestone' because there is such a wide range of normal for achieving it.
I'm dreading baby proofing. Most of our baby proofing is going to consist of cracking down on DD1 for leaving her crap everywhere and it's not going to be pretty. Her #1 activity is art, which I don't want to limit because she loves it and it's such good practice for K (like she copies words and writes things for funsies- I'm aware that I'm super lucky on that front) but there are always scraps of art materials, broken crayon tips, sharp pencils, scissors, etc left on the floor. We set up an additional art area in our new basement play area but I don't want to move it all down there because I don't think she'll spend tons of time there. Maybe the scissors and pencils will be required to move down there at a minimum.
I'm not worried about baby gates for a while because R is still so immobile and unmotivated. But I'm not sure what to do when we get there. DD1 can't step over them and I definitely don't want her to be unable to get to her room, the kitchen or bathroom on her own.

jewelsofthenile, S isn't really moving around much or rolling. When he is on his tummy he is trying to get his knees under him and scoot and he is getting good at sitting up. Rolling has happened less than a hand full of times.
I just don't want to be scrambling to get everything in place to baby proof all in a few days. With L he barely rolled but I remember crawling happening in the blink of an eye and not being prepared fro it at all.
Christmas decorations are all put away, I'm always sad to see them go. The place looks so bare the first few days once everything is down! And I am sad the holidays are over. My next long weekend won't be until Memorial Day unless I take a random one for some reason in between, which sucks.
As for baby proofing, Sam started crawling on New Years Eve!! He does this weird backwards army crawl where he inch worms himself backwards, but he is definitely on the move. He scooted himself over two feet in front of me and my mom on Saturday. It's hysterical to watch and also terrifying because I know we're in a lot of trouble once he really gets the mechanics down. Time to buy a baby gate!
mcktymck, that's crazy!! So fun though! M scoots herself around in a circle both on her belly and on her back, but hasn't really moved in any direction yet. I'm definitely not looking forward to it!

I'm working at getting the rest of the Christmas stuff down today. It feels like the holiday season went so fast!
I joined the Parenting diet bet, so I've prepped some salads and cleaned out my fridge. Was hoping to take the kids for a walk, but it's raining and cold.
Re: baby proofing- with DS1, we didn't do it until he was on the move (started crawling at 11 months) and then just proofed as we went along and saw what he wanted to get into. Might be harder to keep an eagle eye on the second one, though!

katelou and @sarcastic thanks. If i had seen it even once i would probably not be concerned at all. It probably doesn't help that he doesn't get as much quality floor time as his sister did, mainly because she is constantly giving him hugs and smothering him with love and attention anytime he is having floor time.
I am assuming there will be a quick up tick in movement at some point. It seemed that when Dd took along time mastering crawling. She went from not crawing to crawling pulling up on furniture and cruising in a week.

It is hard with #2. Between my super demanding big kid who's been off school for 2 weeks, and the fact that I still have to hold Baby R for naps, I get nothing done unless she's awake and in her Exersaucer. If I leave her on the floor, she cries unless I'm sitting next to her.
I agree, at some point everything clicks and suddenly they're all over! DD1 never crawled on all fours, we had super glossy, slick hardwood floors and she laid on her belly and scooted herself around. Then suddenly at 8 mo she could pull up and cruise and then it was all over lol.

I have to do Kindergarten registration too! It's surreal. She's still a baby!!
Back at work. I have been MIA since I have been mostly on vacation. HK decided last night that she wanted to start sleeping on her stomach. Freaked me out a little but nothing that can be prevented. She is going to sleep how she is going to sleep.
Christmas is still up. I usually put it away on New Year's Day but we were out of town so it will be this week/weekend. Love the decorations and kind of sad to see them go. I love Christmas but I am ready for 2017 too.

B had a good day at DC, but I'm irritated with a few things. I wouldn't be so annoyed if I was able to speak with his main teacher, but she leaves before I pick him up.
They fed him a bottle 45 minutes after I dropped him off. He should have not been fed until 2 hours after drop off since I nurse him right before I leave. So they had to use the emergency frozen bag I left them because they "ran out" of milk by noon. I left specific instructions to wait a minimum of 2 hours before feeding him. So in 7 hours they fed him 12 oz. I only pump 6 at work. I need to let it go and talk to the teacher tomorrow.
They also are really pushing for a pacifier. B hates that thing. I wish he took it, but he doesn't. He just gets more pissed when you try to get him to take it. They wouldn't stop insisting I leave one "just for emergencies." Wtf does that even mean.
I'm freaking out about the feeding issue. It gives me such bad anxiety because I don't pump that much at work, and I won't be able to keep up.
Decorations are gone. H is back to work. DS1 is back to preschool. Nice getting back into a routine. The day started off so well - E took a good nap during preschool so I could workout and shower in peace. Big win! Then he had an explosive poop all over himself and his carseat at preschool pickup. I know I use to complain how frequently DS1 pooped as a baby, but if you go 8x/day, it's hard for any to be large. E goes once every 2-3 days, and it's always a doozy.
Re babyproofing - I don't think we have to do much. We live in a 1-story house so no gates. All cleaning supplies are up high and dressers are bolted to the wall. Can't think of anything else that needs to be done really. Maybe just put in more outlet plugs. I'll have to reassess DS1's toys that aren't suitable for under 3 and see if we need to put them away for a while once E starts crawling. DS1 never really got into much so baby proofing was easy. Hopefully it will be easy again!
melody330 I'm glad B had a good day at DC. Sorry about the feeding issue. Try not to freak out until you talk to them tomorrow and make sure they know you mean business! No way should they be feeding him a bottle 45 minutes after you just fed him. They need to understand how stressful that is for a breastfeeding mother.
We're pretty set to go baby-proofing wise. The only thing is DS has so many little parts to all his toys plus Legos it's going to be a pain to try to make him keep them in his room all the time. J likes to put everything in her mouth too. She's already rolling and pushing herself all over the place. Yesterday she started pushing up on her knees too and I was all like noooo, stop it! She's so much more mobile than the other 2 were at this age. I'm not ready.

::hugs:: melody330. I know exactly how you feel regarding keeping up your supply. My boobs are useless in the pump and I'm lucky to get 6 oz in a day too. And to have DCP haphazardly give B a bottle 45 min later, I'd be upset too! I hope you get to talk to the main teacher and get things understood.

I hope B's daycare gets their shit together melody330! It's frustrating to not be able to keep up, especially if it's because he's being overfed! I went through something similar when my grandma came to stay & watched E for a week. She blew through my entire freezer stash & I was in tears!
