Morning! There is still a good blanket of snow on the ground so once we are up and moving for the day, we are gonna go enjoy it. DS woke up an hour earlier than he usually does but he went to bed so early for him last night.
Yup, not that lucky yet. Although I shouldn't complain as at least I'm getting a couple of 3 hour stretches most nights. Thankfully I've never had a problem sleeping whenever I want to do even though im up for an hour or so I always go back to sleep quickly.
The last couple of days have been tough as we've struggled with latch issues and cluster feeding. I have cracked and bruised nipples Today has been a bit better so hopefully were past it. Is day 7-8 too early for baby's first growth spurt? I render there's one at about 3 weeks but this has felt like one too.
I always struggled to fall back asleep with my first. It's been a little easier this time. Cluster feedings happening over here too. I don't know about growth spurt this early. But I would recommend the wonder weeks app if you don't already have it. Sorry for the nip pain. I've been dealing with a painful latch. We are seeing LC on Wednesday I'm wondering if it could be indication of tongue tie.

Morning. So many babies, so exciting! I love reading the birth stories.
The world is a sheet of ice so errands until it melts (FX that is does because I know if we are stuck inside we will eventually just surrender and let DS watch way too much TV).
I feel like we are only a week into the month and we have more than half of the babies already! I wonder if nature will balance us out and make the rest of us wait to EDD or later (eep!)
vlagroupie, DS1 had a tongue tie that got missed by the hospital LCs and pedi. The first 4 weeks of BF were excruciating but as a FTM I didn't know what was normal or not so I persevered. I saw a LC when I was at my wits end and she spotted it. We had it snipped the next day and the difference was immediate.
I've had DS2 checked out and he does have a very slight TT but it's been suggested I give it a few weeks and work on latch/ position before considering getting it fixed. It's definately not as bad as with DS1 so I agree with the rec. Practice is helping a little, I just wish we weren't so inconsistent on latch. I think it's mostly down to the cballenge of juggling my big boobs!
Do we have enough babies now to have a motn thread?
So glad everyone is ready to start these.
W was really fussy last night about how he wanted to sleep. H walked him around which was ok but he just wouldn't fall asleep. The hospital discourages having baby sleep in bed with you because they've had too many fall off the beds but it was the only way I could get him to fall asleep and stay asleep. In fact, he's still sleeping. It was great to finally get done real sleep and not just rest.

Noooooooooooo!!! 22 days seems so far away!
Amen.
And of course my mom decided to come home early since I've been having so many contractions. Nevermind I had them for 3 weeks before #1, so now this baby probably won't come until February. Lol. Glad to have childcare plan set though! (Mom is a snowbird)
We folded clothes last night but didn't take them upstairs afterwards and DS wanted to throw them around the living room. He doesn't like the word "no" very much.

My nips hurt so much already. I don't remember them hurting this much this soon last time. Granted, I don't think DS1 nursed this frequently this soon, either.
H is working today so my MIL is supposed to be headed this way to stay with me until she goes to church and my mom should be here about the time my MIL leaves. I'm really wanting a shower so hopefully MIL shows up soon.
I managed to get a bunch of freezer meals made yesterday, I made chicken soup, beef stew and shredded chicken for sandwiches. I had planned to make meatballs too, but those will wait for another day. The stew is missing something. I'm not sure, I might try to doctor it up some more, but it doesnt taste like moms. After that, I think my freezer meals are nearly complete. I'll have Meatloaf, Meatballs and sauce, Chicken Francaise, Chicken Noodle soup, Beef Stew, Apple Sage Pork Chops, Pulled Chicken, and pumpkin bread. I might see if mom will make a banana bread too, but I think those should suffice for a while, especially if both mom and MIL rotate and come cook for us too (theyve both offered).
Today is baby shower #2! I'm super excited to see a lot of H's family that we don't see often, but because of the snow out in NY I have a feeling we will have a few cancellations, since thats where most are from. It will still be fun though, and I look forward to finally being able to finalize and stock up on everything else.
heybulldog56, MOST of the stuff I just made double as I was making it for dinner. Soup and stew is super easy so that was NBD and we had soup for dinner yesterday too, the meatballs are my grandmas recipe and I love making them, so they're nbd either. Fear of the unknown after baby being a FTM is what really pushed me to do it.

pibblemom good job on the freezer stash! And enjoy your baby shower, I hope most of the guests can make it!
rinny I hope you don't make your mom wait three more weeks, for your sake!
bazinga & thelittleredm I know some soreness is normal right away but I'm sorry you're both hurting. I'm really curious if baby girl will have a tongue tie like DS. Though I'm heartened by the fact that W figured out how to latch right away! DS was not a natural or vigorous nurser.
lakegirl I hope you feel good about today! I got a lot done yesterday too
I thought about a freezer stash but didnt get around to it. I did conciously cook a little extra a couple of times a week though so we have a shelf full of home made "ready meals". My mom leaves tomorrow so we'll see how long they last without her help to cook each day.

I already had to pull the Xmas boxes of the patio because the wind is blowing the rain sideways. It's really gross out there. Good thing my plan for today is getting the decorations down!
Feeling very 'nesty' and not sure if it's imminent baby or just anxiety about having a set eviction date and a long to-do list. I also was wide awake MOTN despite being very tired. I keep hoping the crazy weather will kick things off for me.

My inlaws decided to come visit. This means all the Christmas stuff is finally being put away! And MIL is entertaining DS so that I can sit and do nothing.
pibblemom, I am super impressed by your freezer stash. That is one thing I didn't even pretend I would do, although I should have.
I didn't have time or energy to do freezer meals. So instead of flowers, my parents sent us food from schwans. For new customers there is free shipping and 30% off. I've never had it before but everything we got has been super easy to make and delicious.

silvermelody, DS1 was not a vigorous easter for the first day or two but got there eventually. I'm just hoping this one continues to like sucking on his hands enough that I'm not a human pacifier all the time like with DS.

thelittleredm as soon as DS figured out how to get his fingers in his mouth he was a lot happier. He never took a paci but still uses fingers when he's tired
carrots I had flat nips too but I think that should be better this time around after nursing DS for so long. Exciting that your induction is this week!
I just realized that my parents will be here a week from today! And this week is filling up with appointments, playdates, and DH's work schedule. It's going to go quick!
We decided to go to the big fancy mall to use a couple Christmas gift cards and walk. We are leaving now after three hours of walking. I'm sure I will regret it tonight when it feels like my hips are going to explode but it felt so good. I haven't been getting in as much walking as I want do to the holidays and worrying about ds in the cold weather. I got a yummy chocolate peanut butter sundae in a waffle cone bowl from Coldstone. So delicious. Now I just want more.

Oh good. My parents brought my niece. I just want piece and quiet and it's the opposite of that here. I'm extremely annoyed. My firmly quiet son is now running around yelling. My mom is talking at me and instead of helping my bf paint (like he offered to do and the reason they're all here) he's complaining about the job my bf is doing, the colour I picked, the fact that my old vacuum doesn't work and I don't want it fixed, even though I don't have carpet in this house...
