DD met DS this afternoon (will add pic to private board). It was adorable, but in being shuffled around with care takers all day she never got a nap in, which obviously made her a real peach the rest of the day.
DH took her home and she passed out at 4... no sign yet as to when/if she'll wake up tonight or sleep all the way through. DH is staying at home because he just keeps me up with his snoring on the crappy hospital cot anyway.
Hopefully sending her to daycare tomorrow will be good for her.
The difference between DS' room before we moved and the new baby's room is that we don't have the extra guest bed in there that will just collect random shit. It's actually just going to be used for a nursery. I'm kind of excited.
That dog walking though pibblemom! I swear my daily walks with Indiana are why ds came a week early and labor was pretty quick for a first timer.
I hope so. I don't take long walks with them now because.. Cold. But they are frequent, probably 5/day. And I've been trying at least once a week to bring the little guy up to my moms to fetch which involves me swinging a bat at a lacrosse ball for 40 mins or more. Hopefully that keeps my hips loose. The cold is just such a damper on everything

Ugh. Finally gave DS a bath and he fell and clunked his head against the edge of the tub. He stood up to get away from me rinsing his hair He's gonna have a big goose egg
But he's acting normal so not worried about a concussion. I'm just mad at myself for not catching him.
rinny, I'm sorry they didnt progress anymore Were they painful or increasing? I'm just wondering because clearly the 5-1-1 rule isnt applying here, and I would definitely be someone that called at 3-5 mins apart for that long only to have them say, nope, sorry..
silvermelody, Sorry about DS. You can't be expected to catch everything. As long as all is fine, maybe he'll use it as a learning experience.
Hope baby let's you get back to sleep soon meeggaannw.
LO took a 3 1/2 hr nap yesterday afternoon from which there was no waking him. Which means his timings were off last night and he's awake quite a bit earlier than usual now. We'll see if he sleeps through until 5 ish (after which im usually up for the day) or adds another MOTN.
Either way, I think I'll go back to bed in the morning and catch up on some sleep as DH took DS1 away to a hotel last night for a day out at a theme park tomorrow. Part of me would love to be with them for DSs first visit there as he's super excited. But the other part is feeling zen about some peace and quiet.
Is anyone else using an app to track baby's feeding, sleeping, etc.?
I down loaded Baby Log instead of the paper log the hospital/pedi asked me to keep for the first 2 weeks. I like it so far (easy to use, helps me remember what boobs I'm on, data comparisons) but I'm also a data junkie.

I'm up because I woke up sweaty and anxious and then realized it could be a blood sugar problem and yep..low. Had to eat a snack and waiting to recheck.
meeggaannw all the tricks I know for sleepy nurslings: flap an arm, tickle foot or chin, cool cloth on neck
bazinga enjoy your quiet morning! I hope DS has a good time, sorry you are missing it but there will be other times you get to go

bazinga, I downloaded some sort of baby tracking app but I keep forgetting to use it. I'm not good at this part of mom-ing lol
I'm so freaking tired. My hips are killing me. I woke H up to try and get DS2 to go back to sleep since he wasn't acting hungry and after he took him out to the living room, DS1 came into the bedroom wanting to sleep with us. Um, no kid. Not enough room in our bed for all 4 of us. So I had to get up anyway to put him to bed.
H couldn't get DS2 to stay asleep so here I am, feeding him and hoping he stays asleep when he's done. Thankfully, H brought me water and some leftover lasagna before heading back to bed.
bazinga I used total baby for my first and I was able to just add a profile for new baby. I think it costs $5 but I like it a lot. I'm sure there are some free apps tho that are just as good. I'm a data junkie too.
pibblemom the intensity wasn't super high, so when I called in they said to wait until it got more intense. It did for a while, but then fizzled. I had a lot of prodromal labor and super slow progression with #1, so part of ignoring the rule is just based on last time.

pibblemom Also when you can't talk through contractions. For a few weeks mine were often 3-5 minutes apart and 1 minute long, but more pesky than anything. I knew pretty quickly today that it was the real deal.
bazinga I use BabyConnect. I bought it for DD ($5) and will use it again for DS. It's user friendly I think and gives all these different data outputs (which makes the nerd in me happy).
Is it weird that I never had contractions with ds until after my water broke? I'm afraid that I won't know when to go in this time if I have crazy contractions without my water breaking. I've had two small batches of mild, more than cramps but not bh, contractions at night so far. These pregnancies really are so different!
I didn't feel contractions until about 4 hours after my water broke with DD
I like the sync idea and saw the baby tracker app had that option too. DH will take time off to look after LO when I go back to work in April and this would help me know how they were getting on. Assuming I could convince him to use it that is!
