where you feel like a lazy parent? I took the boys to brunch this morning with my sister and then grocery shopping. DS1 and I are coming down with something, and we're not feeling well. The TV is now on and I really have no plans to turn it off. Mickey may be babysitting my kids today. DH is OOT and I'm sick, so that's my excuse. Anyone else?
Hell yes! If it weren't for Sid the Science kid LO wouldn't even sit still for 5 mins. I said I would never let her watch tv until she was 2 well that flew right out the window, she doesn't nap so I can't even do laundry without her.

Oh my goodness, luvboston, DS1 stopped napping at 18 months. Yes, 18 months!! I know they say no tv until 2, but I don't think that applies to children who don't nap
I don't know who made this "no tv until 2" rule but i cannot believe they have children. There is no way they could possibly.
My tv has been babysitting DD since the early days. It was the only way i could pump when she stopped having interest in the boob. And i would not survive my current 3rd tri without it. So those experts that insist on no tv before two can seriously shove it way up their snobby asses.
Eta: i should clarify that i do not think you are a snob if you believe this. In fact i will applaud you for having the ability to be "on" all the time. I'm just tired of feeling like a bad parent bc i let my daughter watch some tv (i say this as i cuddle my babe watching Sleeping Beauty together). I think we all are doing an awesome job!

I totally thought I'd be a no tv parent...yeah right! It got me through a lot of my first trimester with DD and I also might have gone insane without tv during all of these snow storms. Lazy days are necessary!

TV here too. In fact, H gets 30 minutes in the morning and 30 min to an hour at night to wind down. He's been picking up on a few things from it so I don't consider it too horrible.
I love lazy days whether TV is involved or not. We had one today and it was glorious!
I credit DS learning some things so fast to tv. This generation will be all tech as long as he is playing, reading and getting outside I don't really care.

I haven't let R watch tv yet (he is only 10 months though), but I definitely have lazy parenting days. I will just lay on the couch and let him play by himself for way too long sometimes!
I like to think of it as cuddle time or family movie time. Some nights that's all i can manage. I really think super why has helped her learn her letters.
Since I'm really only with DS for a couple hours a day after work, and the 3 of us are all here on the weekend, we hadn't done much TV due to just lack of time. He'll be 2 in a few weeks. We introduced YouTube around Christmas because I downloaded some short things for our long plane ride. That led to more things on YouTube and then some stuff OnDemand. We had to go cold turkey for awhile in January because he was throwing fits when the answer was no, then this week with a snow day and a stomach bug and being 36 weeks pregnant, it spiraled out of control. As soon as he walks downstairs he asks for Elmo or "trash" (he zones out watching garbage truck videos on YouTube. This is what we get for parenting in 2015!) We've been trying to be good about the amount of minutes, but boy is it easy to just go all in when it works!!
