Confession time! Ever since she started flipping to her stomach on her own and sleeping better I have started putting her down on her stomach versus back....
I still get nervous because she loves to just shove her face into the mattress and sleep that way. Le sigh.
Guilty. At 7 pm, I put him on his back. 3 am? I'm not risking a wake up. I know his neck is strong. Plus he is literally next to me in a side car crib.
We had an okay night. Up at 12;45 and 3:30. So tired though. I go to bed around 8:45 and I have to be up at 5, so I'm really not getting solid stretches of sleep still. It's really catching up to me.

We still average at least 1 wake up a night, I usually bring him to my bed & wake up a few more times to him stirring. I go to bed between 10-11 & wake up at 5. I always say it's not so bad because at least he's not up for hours at night but the interrupted sleep every single night is draining for sure.

M is still waking up multiple times before settling. Last night I put her down at about 6:45 and she was up at 7:30, 8:10, 11:00 (and was WIDE awake for over an hour), then was down until 5:00, and then I had to wake her at 7:30. I only fed her at 11:00 and 5:00. I'm starting to think a lot of it is the separation anxiety setting in. I really need to try to kick the nursing to sleep habit. She goes down great for naps for my husband during the day but "needs" to nurse to sleep at night. I use quotes because I'm having a "its all my fault" moment this morning about her sleep. le sigh
I guess the night before was a fluke because Sam was up 3 times again last night. He slept 7 hours the first stretch though which is awesome! He was up at 2:45, tried waking up to nurse an hour later and we shot that down and let him fuss himself back to sleep and then up at 6:45 to nurse again. I think the more times we let him fuss himself back to sleep MOTN the longer his stretches will get, I hope so anyways!
Hey all. Well I haven't posted here in like 2 weeks but it's not because of sleep. It's because of the worst sleep regression ever. Plus being 24/7 with the family while on vacay and now working like crazy to catch up on missed work. I'm so exhausted all the time but I think we're headed out of the sleep regression (2 wake ups a night instead of 4-6 with only falling back asleep if latched on/cosleeping). Knock on wood!
Holy sweet Jesus!! Flint just slept nearly 9 hrs in a rob and I got 6.5 of them!!! This has never happened before!!!! It will probably never happen again but I'm going live it up for the moment

Whenever I bring E to my bed I put him right in the crook of my arm so I don't roll on him. Last night I somehow managed to roll over the other way, I woke up confused because where is my baby?! He was smooshed up against H. He's fine but it scared the fuck out of me and now I don't think my anxiety will let me co-sleep.

Another ok night. He nursed at least 4 times but as soon as he whines, I grab and latch him. I'm not even awake when I do it so I wonder if he would soothe himself if I gave him a chance.
He did an almost 5 hour stretch to start the night. It started at 6:30 (no third nap yesterday) so I was awake for most of it. It's 7:30 am and he's still sleeping!
Last night was definitely an improvement... Her first stretch was a little over 2 hours (when she had been waking every 30-45 minutes for the first few hours). I nursed her and she went right back down.. then was up again at 11:30 (DH got her back down) and 1:30 (nursed back down), and I woke her at 7:15. Still obviously looking forward to fewer wake ups, but I will gladly take that over what we've been having! At least it was a step in the right direction!
We had a decent night as well! Went down at 7:30, woke up to nurse at 3:15 (!!!) and then up for the second time at 6:10. I was sort of hoping after the first wake up maybe he would sleep until he was ready to wake up which is usually around 9ish, but baby steps. We're getting there slowly and things are getting better, that's all that matters!

Just had a huge nap win. Naps had been going really well (and I got all cocky about it which was dumb) because lately, he's decided to wake after 30 minutes. He just woke up crying, I went in there and patted his butt, he cried for 10 minutes, but then he fell back asleep. Woo hoo!
B has been consistently down to 2 wake ups for about a week now. Every other day or so he is only up once. We did change a lot, but who knows what really helped the most. I think the biggest thing that helped was getting rid of the swing. He would take all of his naps there, with white noise blasting. I hated it. He was in the middle of the living room, and he needed to be sung to sleep. DS1 would get so pissed about it.
B also decided he didn't want to nurse to sleep at bedtime anymore. One day he was screaming in my face, diving for his crib. So I laid him down and he passed out with no tears. Since then it's been smooth sailing.

Things had been going pretty well - belly sleeping was a huge improvement so we were getting a few longer stretches (4 hours is long for us!). But last night he slept on his back for most of the night, resulting in wake ups every 2 hours. Ugh. I think he still has a bit of a startle reflex. I hope he picks his belly tonight - I might nudge him that way after his MOTN wake ups.
Irene just slept for 8 hours. From 6:45-2:45. But thanks to stupid DH I got to bed at 11:45 so I only got 3 hours. He has a flight to Houston tomorrow morning so of course he still plays in his soccer league game at 9:30, gets home at 11, wants me to help him cut his hair, and then pack. And of course the only reason Irene slept that long is because she has a fever now. Just checked and it is 100.6*. I changed her diaper and am nursing her back to sleep. Would you do Tylenol at next wake up or just wait until morning? She already has a weight check at 10am tomorrow so I guess it will be a sick visit now.

I would do Tylenol when she wakes again.
Is the weight check routine or is she losing weight? Forgive me if you mentioned that already been having a hard time keeping up when at work!
I really hope we are turning a corner with Bs sleep. Second day in a row of only 1 wake up with intervention. He woke up at 12:30 to eat, slept until 5 but he just babbled in his crib for ten minutes and conked out again. Who is this unicorn baby?
If there is hope for Benjamin, there is hope for all the shitty sleepers out there!
She woke up after 45 minutes so I gave her Tylenol then. She then slept for 2 hours before waking up again.
melody330 the doctor is worried about her falling off her curve. She was at 90th percentile for weight until her 4 month appt and then she went to 75th. It's the reason I haven't been too upset about night time feedings because I feel like she needs it. I have a feeling she will have dropped even more though because she is trying to crawl and is getting really close to doing it. She's definitely burning off a lot of calories with how active she is!

That's awesome!!! I feel like you probably said in a few different places, but what all have you changed?

A feel like a lot changed at once, so I'm not sure if it was any one thing.
He stopped nursing to sleep at night (his doing- not mine!).
We went cold turkey and now 100% of naps are in the crib. We got rid of our swing, which was a huge nap crutch for us.

I think we are making progress too! Had an annoying wakeup at 10:30 (annoying bc I fell asleep at 10:15), but then I got a 5 hour chuck. Not sure if I've ever gotten a chuck so long! Quick feed at 3:30 and then slept until a bit after 7. E possibly realized he's no longer a newborn!

Sorry she's not feeling good and I hope your appt goes well today.
Are you doing anything different to try to keep her weight up? I'm curious because my guy is kind of a slow gainer, but also much smaller. I'm a bit nervous for his 6 month appt next week. He's constantly in motion as well.

Hope all is ok with Irene ellebelle. And hopefully she's ok with the weight percentages. E has also been falling, and I get so anxious when it's time for him to get weighed at his appointments. I dread when he has a poop right before, and I always try to feed him right beforehand too bc every ounce counts at this point. Definitely nervous about his 6 month appointment in a few weeks.
